Juneau International Youth Hostel

Worst hostel experience of my life. I tried to wake up a roomate in the dorm because he was awfully snorting the whole night. He sent them an email then and in the morning they stormed into the dorm, aggressively wanting to kick me out. They wanted to avoid any form of confrontation and solving of the situation. They were not even open to talk about this. I have never ever experienced something like this. Apart of that, the hostel is super dirty and you have to leave the place from 9 - 5 PM. RIP

After booking I called to confirm and because I had no covid shot they refused me entrance plus kept my 1st night's deposit. I slept in a campground which was better than their leave for the daytime policy anyway. Can I rate it less than zero? If so then minus 100 less. That's just wrong.

You are better off in a hotel, the beds were really hard, they charge you for towels, they kick you out at 8 am, and can't come back until 5 and had to do chores. If you have a suitcase or carry on the location is hell. So think it through before booking

Hostel was as expected from advertising, very poor communication and bookkeeping skills, WATCH YOUR CHARGE CARD INFORMATION, they miscalculated our rate without my knowledge, and took four days to change it after we were gone, and then arbitrarily charged my bankcard without contacting me, so there were not enough funds there which almost made us homeless at the next hotel and caused me major banking issues, and extra fees, plus is not crediting me with the deposit I paid to hostelworld.

Our room wasn't clean when we checked in because they expect there guests to clean it. Upon checking in we were told that we had to vacate the hostel because there would be no staff around in these hours. For me and my friend thus was not great because we checked in late and were hoping to sleep in. When we saw the assigned chores sign my friend asked what it was all about. I'm not opposed to cleaning up after myself but they expect you to do more, like vacuum. It was just weird. So w...

Staff did not understand my booking and charged me additional using my credit card after I already paid $36/night and they charge $30/night cash rate. Restroom had really poor smell of urine.

Overall very good. Nice neighborhood and walkable. Mattress hard and uncomfortable.

Top notch hostel, if a bit worn around the edges. Very nice staff. I met the nicest guests here. All were very friendly. It has a homey atmosphere and I enjoyed the dining and living room.

My only issue was the cleanliness of the place. The female bathroom did not look like it was cleaned daily with dirty sheets/towels overflowing onto the floor. The dishes were dirty, which I rewashed before using them. They did not have a proper sanitation area setup with the three sinks like at other hostels I’ve stayed in the past. Overall, it was a great stay for the $25 I paid. I used my own disinfectant wipes before using the sink, shower and mattress because I didn’t want to get sick.

Ostello a 5 minuti dal centro,a piedi.personale molto gentile e super disponibile. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Viene chiesta una piccola collaborazione, come piccoli lavoretti per dare una mano , niente di troppo impegnativo ( es svuotare i bidoni delle camere). Wi fi perfettamente funzionante in tutta la struttura. Unica nota negativa è che devi lasciare l’ostello tra le 9 e le 17 perché è gestito da volontari che vanno a lavorare e quando piove non è il massimo.

Clean, welcoming, small hostel near downtown Juneau. Restrictions with hours of check in as well as when you can be in the hostel (not allowed in between 9am to 5pm), which you need to plan for. Volunteer run hostel. Requires all people staying to do 1 chore per night for upkeep of hostel.

Juneau Hostel is the very best of everything. This is my 5th stay. The only affordable accommodations in town.

Convenient location. Not too many people to provide an atmosphere. But friendly staff!

This is a lovely Hostel, located in a quiet area of Downtown Juneau, very close to sights and transit links. Staffed by a lovely team who made me feel welcome, and provided plenty of local insight, I would gladly stay here again!

This is my first time staying in a hostel, I was hesitant to book at first but glad I did! Staff are amaxing, very clean, location is amazing, downtown of Juneau, everything is walking distance. Worth your money and stay. Having 9 to 5 being closed was not a problem since I had my days planned and took that into consideration when I read the rules. Thank you so much for everything. Appreciate everything greatly.

Stayed for only a night but it was great ! Facilities are nice and clean and I felt super safe.

Smells weird ….like smelly armpits and the living room was so messy ….so sad because the place is great

Exactly what you would hope for, an inexpensive bed with a great staff and cool travelers.

It is a friendly place with an excellent location. It is a very affordable place for an expensive city. If your mindset is "to leave a place better than you found it", this youth hostel is for you. Our family enjoyed the stay! 😃🙌😃
