Valparadise Hostel

the owners are really nice. but it feels more like an b&b than a hostel. because they (including their daughter) live there aswell. the kitchen was really dirty. the location was great

The location is very good and the owner family, Barbara, Ruben and Killay, are very kind persons. However, I was the only guest in the hostel, and I needed to pay CLP 3'000.- to use the kitchen.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The shared dorm was without a window, but had a «window» out to the common area. It was easy to sleep when people were talking in the common area. Bathroom and kitchen were dirty.

Valparadise Hostel is in a fantastic location. The area felt safe, and it was easy to explore the city’s murals, cafes, and cultural spots on foot. However, my stay had several downsides. The biggest issue was cleanliness—both the bathrooms and the kitchen were not well-maintained or orderly. Street music and noise from the hostel guests and family made it difficult to fall asleep, and due the family dynamics, the shared space was not comfortable to relax in during the day.

This small family hostel has all you need and is very well located. The owners who are renovsting it and their daughter were super friendly and welcoming, it felt more like a home than an anonymous accommodation. They were also very helpful and caring. The size of the hostel is cozy. I would stay here again!

More of a homestay than a hostel because the family lives there, but a nice place to stay. Very sweet people and good location. Basic facilities and really loud bunk beds.

Perfect location. The owners are very friendly, open-minded and progressive. I had plenty of space to store my things including a big locker. Breakfast, using the kitchen to cook and laundry are all available for an extra fee. There is a jazz bar next door and the sound travels so bring earplugs. The hostel is small and has a cozy family feel, perfect for me, but not the best for making friends. The worst thing is there is no hot water or heating which is brutal in Valpo winter, I struggled.

Barbara, Ruben and Killay are really nice People. I felt st home from the first day. Barbara gave me a lot of information about Valparaíso and we had a nice time together in the evenings. The location is perfect.

The hosts were lovely (extremely welcoming and helpful) and the location was excellent. However, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and facilities. For example, the kitchen was a bit grimy, one of the bathrooms was musty smelling and there was a pane of glass missing from the door of the women’s door so sound travelled easily. Keep in mind as well that the hosts live in the hostel and their young daughter is often around. She is very sweet but quite busy!

Barbara and Ruben are wonderful, welcoming hosts -- it's their family run business and they made the place feel like home. Excellent location.

Very cosy and family atmosphere:) Ruben and Barbara are super helpful - you feel directly welcomed and in good hands. In addition, they always gave information about events and advised on excursions. I would like to come back :)

The hosts Barbara and Ruben were very welcoming and helpful. When I first arrived, Barbara gave me a tour of the amenities including an amazing view off the back terrace. The location is perfect next to so many restaurants, shops and museums. When I was wondering what to focus a morning on Barbara gave great recommendations. We shared a nice meal together and it was an overall a great experience. I plan to return whenever I visit Valparaiso again in the future.

Best hostel I've stayed in!!! Genuinely, such a kind family runs it, and is always there to help you. The location is perfect, it is next to everything you need, and has beautiful views

Bárbara y Rubén y su hija Killay son muy simpáticos. El ambiente es familiar y la ubicación es perfecta, cerca de todos los lugares turísticos y me sentí segura. Hay una terraza muy tierna con una vista bonita donde se puede tomar un café o fumar. Recomiendo mucho Valparadise Hostel :)

Nice little hostel with great location and cozy living room. The owners Barbara and Ruben are awesome and speak English fluently. I am going to stay there again.

Personal and homely hostel run by a family in the center of the cerros. Great location near everything. The room for the 6 bed dorm was the largest I've been in which made it very spacious and pleasant. The balcony has great views. Barbara and Reuben are both lovely, a great help, and really make a relaxed atmosphere to chat with them and others. Wish I could've stayed longer!
