7 dorm is no real dorm, it's 9 beds sleeping literally in the kitchen. and after a reclamation about this nothing happened and no one cared
booked it becuase I thought it was the cheapest with $11 - turns out on arrive that I had to pay $16 on top of the $3 I already paid on Hostelworld instead with the owner saying 'otherwise its hard for me to get out of bed in the morning' even tho it said $11 in total. The owner gave a weird vibe and so felt the reat of the people standing at that time. There is construction work going on on right in front of the hostel so alwqys loud and many workers around. Not tto recommend.
Not massively impressed, paid £40 per night to literally be in a shed where the AC was so loud we couldn’t sleep. Laundry cost $8 but you had to do it yourself and the volunteers seemed annoyed whenever you asked them for anything and couldn’t give any advice or recommendations for anything local. Generally weird vibe and the quality of the private room provided was really not appropriate, hence no pictures I suppose !
A disaster. there was no wifi (because they didn't pay for it...), the electricity is always off (so there is no AC), I had an anthill in the room and the ants stuck to my towel, they left us without breakfast one day without any explanation, there was no hot water and the cold water came out without pressure, they have no post office to pay by card so they force you to pay in cash... not to mention the staff. a whole disaster. it falls to 3.7 because I put 5 stars on security (that the pueblo i...
Had a strange experience at this hostel, the vibes were very off. Lots of volunteers there who all seemed very rude, not a very social atmosphere. The room was not air conditioned as advertised so it was extremely warm. Also had to walk up and down a ladder to reach it. There were no mosquito nets and millions of mosquitos, if you are someone who values sleep I wouldn’t stay here. The kitchen was kind of small and always full, plus always a bit of a mess.Showers even had a window!
It is very unfortunate that you can't actually air condition during the day, but only for a fee. This is absurd since it is extremely hot in Santa Catalina. Also the private rooms are very small and warm. Besides, the toilets were very poorly maintained; some were hidden and not being made, other toilets never had toilet paper and the handzip is not even once replenished. It stank badly in the toilets.
Nur für junge Leute wirklich geeignet. Der Patron ist nicht die Bohne freundlich
The boss is not the Bohne friendly
Do not book the 7 bed dorm. My bed was a literal matress on the floor in the loft aboave the communal kitchen. It was impossible to sleep in because of the noise in the morning and you had to brave some steep stairs any time you wanted to get to the bed.
Bad experience! The water was broken/ran out most of our stay, so we could not refill our bottles, wash dishes, cook, go to the toilet. Also the facilities were super unclean, the worst being the bathrooms that smells intensively like urine, which you could smell in the entire house. Additionally, the kitchen and grocery storage was infested with bugs and there were dead and alive cockroaches in our bedroom!! We just realized they also made us pay more there then indicated on hostelwold.
every room had an AC unit but only did the one in my room not work. all 3 nights of my stay. and staff did nothing about it. there is construction going on on the property so it can get noisy. i overpaid for this hostel for sure, i think the timing had to do with the price but not worth that money.

It was a really nice stay. I extended from three nights to six and would even liked to stay longer. really warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff was really helpfull. But i would recomend to get a Dorm, because the beds in the "monkey area" are above the public place and so it can get loud sometimes
Amazing!!!
This is amazing!!!
The accommodation is located in a good location with only a few minutes walk to the beach! it is fresh and bra tryck in the shower plus breakfast included - pancakes and fruit! the bed is quite nice and bra air conditioned at night but at night it is very hot. rummet we lived i had ingen deur without you climbed up for a ladder, so it was very lihört and difficult to sleep any longer until 07 when you could hear everything from below!
I’m so glad I chose this hostel. For me every hostel has its special vibe and this one is exactly what I was looking for. Community centred, open minded, creative, clean, air conditioned and overall like home. Pablo is an amazing owner, very much felt like an old friend since day one. Hard to leave once you’re there. Pretty perfect.
Great hostel! The Small dorm was ok with the AC.
I really liked the hostel itself. It's a bit rustic. Most of the mattresses are just on the floor. It's clean. The beds are clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. It only has 6 lockers for 20 people. The atmosphere is great. The rooms get freezing cold at night because of the air conditioning. i needed 3 blankets. but it depends with who you are in the room.
Wonderful hostel with great staff! Staff was really helpful in answering all questions. Nice outside area with chill vibe. The big dormitory is open but very clean and comfy. Would definitely come back
Dormitories 9 beds 6 lockers, 4 electrical outlets. dormitories mezzanine unlocked, overlooking the reception and kitchen open until 22:00.

you are in a room all together. the aircon is just a fan and its kinda run down. i also had a problem checking in which was sorted in the end but maybe not the most organised place. breakfast was lovely and the dog is very sweet

Good hostel for a very good price. Staff is super nice and it is very easy to meet other travelers.
This hostel is fine if you're looking to save money—it includes breakfast, and the facilities are decent. However, the atmosphere is quite poor. Since the staff is made up entirely of volunteers, they tend to stick to their own closed groups. They never engage with guests or make any effort to include anyone. It feels like they’re there just to enjoy themselves, not to offer a good experience to others.I say this with some perspective, having worked in hostels for three years these volunteer...

Great stay, there is everything necessary in the hostel and the colonnades were on top of the world:)
Nice hostel, super friendly and helpful staff & owner, would definitely come back. If you’re a light sleeper choose a private or 4 bed dorm (not 7 bed, it has no doors) had a great time!

We had a really good time here! It’s a relaxing and just nice place to stay. Close to everything so you can just walk. Nice staff! Really good free breakfast also the lady that makes it is very kind. Would stay again!!
I had a good time at the hostel. However, when I arrived, it happened to be overbooked for that night so they put a mattress in the volunteer’s room for me to sleep on. It was okay though as they also gave me a discount. It’s pretty small but that makes for a nice social atmosphere.
