Weird place and a weird owner, didn’t feel that safe and the same about our things!

Ideal location for exploring, though the streets surrounding aren't easy to navigate or clean (but that's Varanasi and inevitable in this area). There is hot water, AC + a good rooftop to chill. There are also mice, nails to pierce your feet and hanging baskets to bang your head. I was charged twice for tax and shortchanged. I hope the pledges to help local communities are real, in which case I'm happy to have paid more.

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I left my bag in there area after check out and all my souvenirs that I bought for my family was stolen. I packed my bag left it with them get to my next location everything’s gone. Place is a scam. They said donation based palm readings the reader comes and asks for $6000 rupees. I doubt the money goes to orphans. I asked multiple times to volunteer never followed up. Oh and there was leak over my bed and a ton of mosquitos. Walk around ull find better host...

The worst place I've ever stayed. The dorm room feels more like a homeless shelter than a hostel. No space between beds, no proper bedsheets. (I'm not sure if they wash blankets they give you). Garbage under beds, no toilet paper, no soap. Stay here only if everything else is booked up.

Place was aweful, tons of beds crammed next to each other on dirty mattresses, not enough toilet facilities, mosquitoes, it was just awful, I left before even meeting the host…

Rate is too much high as per market.

They are not giving me a Room.

My wallet got stolen out of my bag in the reception area and there are no lockers in the dorm rooms or locks on the doors of the private rooms, so security is an issue. Good location near the Ganges, although transport can't get close. As others have said, the building is like a storage room. Price too high for what it is.

The people seem really nice and it sounds like the owner is running some charitable activities. But sadly there is barely any focus on maintaining this hostel. It doesn’t get cleaned, the dorm room doubles as a storage room, too many beds crammed into the dorm (it is single beds not bunks) so your bed is touching the beds either side, and the blankets don’t get washed. The water stopped running half way through my shower. If you want a clean and comfortable stay, I can’t recommend this p...

The property was comfortable, clean, and had a really positive vibe throughout my stay. What truly made the experience special was the staff incredibly polite, helpful, and genuinely caring. They were always ready to assist with a smile and made me feel completely at home. Their behavior and hospitality were exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant and stress-free stay in Banaras! Har Har Mahadev!

This place is very wholesome and will treat you like family no matter where you from. Somit and also aryun while I fell sick took care of me as I was one of their own and that says a lot about them and why they’re very successful. Not many places or people you will find better than this.

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet – ganz in der Nähe von allem, was man sehen möchte. Die Atmosphäre ist wunderbar familiär und friedlich. Die Dachterrasse ist ein großartiger Ort zum Entspannen. Hier übernachten viele wunderbare Reisende. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine Schule für Straßenkinder; sie sind stets sehr dankbar für jegliche Hilfe.

Ho scelto di prenotare in questo ostello perché cercavo un'esperienza diversa e l'ho trovata. Somit mi ha saputo dare importanti consigli su cosa e come visitare posti che mai avrei trovato da solo. Oltre ad essermi stato di aiuto con la sim del.mio telefono, facendo venire direttamente in ostello chi mi ha risolto il.problema. Ho scelto di fare volontariato con i bambini ed è stata una bellissima esperienza. Il cibo è molto buono e la posizione è ottima per raggiungere i Gath.

Basic accommodation in a great location. Somit is a really helpful person to know if it’s your first time in Varanasi - he really showed us the ropes

Het was even goed zoeken en het waren zeer vriendelijke mensen! Er kan heel goed eten voor je gemaakt worden, want er zit een cafe bij in (bowl of compassion. Het hostel is o.a. opgezet om arme kinderen uit de wijken te helpen en les te geven in bepaalde vakken (heb dit zelf met eigen ogen gezien, want het gebeurd in het hostel van 16.00 - 18.00). Mooi doel dus! De gedeelde slaapkamer is simpel en kan misschien wat schoner, maar alles is er. 2 douches die oke zijn. Geen wc papier, maar ook oke!

We loved our stay with Somit and his family, they’re super welcoming and helpful for local knowledge. The school project is also really positive and is being funded by the guesthouse so you’re directly helping the kids get access to education. Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend!!

Very nice host. The accommodation is fairly simple, but all you need to get the full Varanasi experience! If you want to see the city from a local perspective, I can really recommend Vicky as your guide.

Sangat dekat dengan Ganga Arti dan host sangat peramah.

Somit Paying Guest House is an incredible place to stay if you want to get to know the real Varanasi. Somit does amazing work and is the best host you could ask for. And anyone is lucky to taste the cooking from Pooja. Definitely recommend it will my whole heart. See for yourself when you visit Varanasi!
