The staff was very unfriendly, there is no 24/7 reception so that when you come late to the hostel you have to wait 20 mins at one of the most dangerous streets in Quito between dodgy homeless people till the staff wakes up from sleep to open the door. The dogs don’t stop barking and bit me one time when I was going out, it wasn’t that strong but that’s not how I want to get treated when I spend money for a place to stay. The rooms were quite clean tho.

Disappointed, volunteer staff tried hard, but the hostel, relocated post-pandemic, has declined. Promised amenities fell short; only cash accepted, no drinking water available, lacked the vibrant hostel atmosphere, and barking dogs roamed freely into glass-doored, light-flooded rooms, compromising privacy. Wi-Fi was unreliable, and street noise from below was unbearable, necessitating earplugs. It seems past reviews reflect a better-managed era

Positive: - possibility to have dinner in the hostel. The food is really good - very central - nice old building - Luggage storage for a few days possible Negative: - really noisy and thin walls, you hear everything that’s going on outside and inside the building. During our stay it was very noisy on the street. - very unsafe neighbourhood: we were robbed 100 meters from the hostel, we were threatened with a knife - there are almost only volunteers working at the reception that are ...

The owners and staff were really nice, but the facilities are currently being upgraded. So there wasn’t hot water in the shower, the wifi wasn’t working (occasionally it did on the roof) and on the second last day they painted the bathroom beside our room and the arches by the door and window in our room and the smell of the paint was so strong when we went to bed. Good social hostel though and good place to meet people

O hostel tem bastante potencial. Fica perto do centro histórico, de mercados e lojas, além de ter uma estrutura muito boa com muitos espaços para socializar e descansar. Mas infelizmente peca no quesito limpeza e atmosfera. Os banheiros e a cozinha estão constantemente sujos, falta sabão pra lavar louça e papel higiênico nos banheiros por exemplo. Não havia praticamente hóspedes quando fui, mas a equipe de funcionários fez a diferença, pessoas amáveis que fizeram minha estadia muito ...

Wanted to like it, but relative to other 7+ hostels stayed at in ecuador this one could do a lot better :/ Pros: nice volunteers willing to help. Nice rooftop views. Cons: not clean (even in private rooms, bathroom required a 2nd cleaning bc was full of hair upon arrival). Disorganized communication amongst staff (not language issue). Breakfast very disappointing (cold ham sandwich + a banana). No social scene at all. Both building & hostel need some TLC & attention

The staff were so kind and helpful. Good hostel with great potential. Definitely needs some improvements on the building facilities-pictures make it look nicer/newer.

O Hostel é excelente, localização excelente, os funcionários todos muito simpáticos e solícitos. A noite o hostel abre o restaurante para receber os clientes. Super recomendo.

I had a great stay at Vibes Aurik. The staff were honestly so amazing and made me feel so welcome and at home. I visited during the low season, and there weren't too many people staying at the hostel, so they upgraded me to a private room, which was amazing! The owner was super cool and showed me around town and gave me great tips for the rest of my trip. I highly recommend staying here 10/10 :)

Spent two nights at Vibes in March. It was perfect for us with short distance to the historic centre, great selection of restaurants and rooftop bars at walking distance. Room was clean and with a good vibe to it (with beautiful ceilings as well). Staff was great, super helpful and available through WhatsApp whenever we needed them. Rooftop bar was great, even with a fireplace. We surely enjoyed our stay and will come again next time we are in Quito.

Me gustó mucho Vives Aurik, está muy bien ubicado el hostel, perfecto para turistear por la ciudad, y el personal muy amable.

Awesome place. Antique building full of character, super clean, conveniently located in the middle of everything, very helpful staff willing to help and party. Highlights are their just reopened pub with craft beers, very yummy falafels and shawarma plus do yourself a favor and don't miss their free tour to the panecillo high viewpoint by the owner himself. Highly recommended.

An amazing place in the heart of Quito with a beautiful view from its rooftop. The staff is amazing, the food at the restaurant delicious and the fact that they organise or recommend tours is perfect for someone like me that didn't plan in advance! I highly recommend this place

I really enjoyed my stay at  Vibes Aurik. The location is Central to Park, supermarket and it with in the Historic centre. The rooms where there was extra blankets if the night got really cold. Bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very helpful. I will highly recommend staying here.

Most things in property description are not available. No drinking water, kitchen or restaurant. The property is clean, quiet and very secure.

The owner Santiago and staff (especially Jodi!!) were so great. They really helped create a wonderful vibe at the hostel and helped me experience all of the beauty and fun of Quito. Great location: near the beautiful old town but also in a neighborhood with lots of great local places to eat and hang out. And beautiful view from the rooftop. Would recommend!!

L'endroit semble bien entretenu notre chambre et l'hostel était très propre à notre arrivé. Selon moi, il manque un peu d'ambiance. Le wi-fi est excellent sur la terrasse du toit parfait pour les études ou le travail. Cependant, dans notre chambre un peu moins performant. L'endroit est sécurisé par une porte barrée à clé et notre chambre aussi avec possibilité de rajouter un cadenas sur la porte de chambre. L'hôte est très réactif sur WhatsApp. Petit bémol, le quartier est bruyant...

Très bien placé dans le centre historique, et nous avons été très bien accueillis par le personnel, qui a été très arrangeant !

I had a great stay at Vibes Aurik, the hostel is very spacious with big rooms and comfy beds. The terrace is perfect for relaxing after activities in and around Quito. The staff super helpful and available for anything you need. Met other travellers here and had incredibile fun nights out. I will definetely book again this hostel when i'll be back in Quito in few days.

The staff was super lovely and accommodating but it seemed like we were the only ones there (in early November) so there was not much of an atmosphere we could pick up on. The cleanliness and maintenance of the building wasn’t the best compared to other places we stayed at but the location was great and it was a perfect spot to rest our heads for a night.

Mi paso por el hostel fue bueno, el desayuno que venden esta muy completo y buen precio , el personal siempre dispuesto ayudar y la vista del patio es espectacular, también los tour gratuitos al centro, al panecillo y a las cervecerías, me gusto mucho el lugar y la ubicación.

Loved this hostel. Was very quiet not sure if that was due to time of the year or secret garden is around the corner. This place deserves a lot more hype. Staff were very helpful with absolutely everything we needed. Amenities were great and felt very safe. Would recommend!

Couldn't be happier with my choice to stay at Vibes. You can tell the focus there is on hanging out in a chill social environment and less on partying. The owner Santiago and the staff are amazing as well. He personally took us out both nights to show us areas I wouldn't have gone to otherwise. No extra charge. It was also nice to get linked up with a walking tour that wasn't 30+ people like another big hostel had. Stay at Vibes!

I stayed here a month ago and forgot to leave a review, but this hostel was amazing! The staff was very nice and helpful and the room was clean. The rooftop has an amazing view and the fire pit was a good vibe. I would definitely stay here again!
