+ Very unhygienic and filthy. Not recommended for family.

- Zero cleanliness and unprofessional staff

+ Good location. Very Helpful staff. Comfortable mattress, clean sheets, no signs of any insects / infestation. AC works well

- Very Old building. Although they have tried to restore the internals, and give it a funky vibe, but the furniture is basic and bathrooms are shabby. The non-AC dormitory has mold on the walls, and I must warn people with allergies to avoid this. Luckily that day there was very little occupancy, so I could move / upgrade to the AC dormitory. Bring your own towel & bath essentials. Payments system is another major issue. 2-3 days before my travel date, I got a whatsapp msg from an unknown unlisted number which asked me to pay to a certain account number, or else my booking will be cancelled. A major red flag scenario in this age of online frauds and scams. I wish they have a phone (whatsapp) number listed on their website (it just shows +91 ), and / or an official bank account number listed on their website / or a payment gateway to pay via credit card.

+ It was good for sleeping .. a peaceful place but there is a catch.

- The flush for washroom were not working and it was so irritating. Paid 725 for that .. most of the part was in construction.. i think 350 was more than enough.. as this time they are yet to finish work.

+ The location was good. The bedsheets were clean. The cafe was very cute.

- 926 for a hostel was too expensive(Non AC Dorm). The place was under renovation, and was in a mess. At least for the time being, they could have lowered the price. There was no one in the reception even though it was just 7:30. The person who later attended hardly had any information. The bed didn't have a light.

+ Location, cleanliness, food, staff behaviour, and comfortable beds. Most importantly the environment I felt out there.

- Had to ask management to enforce quiet hours after 11:00 pm. On our first night, people were playing music and singing until my second complaint at about 1:30 am! But the next two nights, there was no problem at all. 🤗 Also, the food in the café upstairs is only so-so. It’ll keep you from starving to death, but that’s about it.

+ Adil and Gaurav took us on a Heritage tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The place was clean and location is awesome once the restoration work is completed. A lovely stay.

+ The House itself is amazing it's a world war 1 house... the Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The interior back sitting are is aldo cool and vibey... it has lot of creative things to do, Books Games, Movies... Even everyday they organise walking tours, Games Nights , Movie Nights and the beds are comfortable and good...Cleaniness is well maintained.. Bathrooms are bigger and Neat...Cool Place for Solo Travellers and Backpackers.... I would recommend this place to stay whoever is visiting in Daman..

+ My stay at Moustache Hostel Daman was truly beyond my expectations and easily one of the most memorable parts of my Daman trip. From the moment I walked in, I felt that this wasn’t just another hostel, it was an experience thoughtfully rooted in history, comfort, and community. What immediately stood out was the Portuguese architecture. The hostel is housed in a heritage building dating back to 1918, and the way it has been preserved and adapted is simply beautiful. The old-world charm, high ceilings, colonial-era design elements, and carefully restored spaces give the place a soul of its own. Staying here genuinely felt like living inside history, rather than just observing it from the outside. Beyond the structure, what truly made the stay special was the people. I ended up making many wonderful friends from different places, and the common areas naturally encourage conversations, laughter, and shared experiences. There’s an easy, warm vibe that makes it effortless to connect whether over morning tea, late-night chats, or planning explorations around Daman. The staff deserves special appreciation. Everyone was friendly, approachable, and always willing to help with a smile, which adds immensely to the overall comfort of the stay. A special kudos to Chatur, who went out of his way to help me with my laundry, something that might seem small, but when done with such genuine helpfulness, it really makes a difference and stays with you. Overall, Moustache Hostel Daman strikes a rare balance between heritage, hospitality, and hostel culture. It’s a place where history meets warmth, and strangers quickly turn into friends. I walked in with normal expectations and walked out with great memories, meaningful conversations, and a deep appreciation for this beautifully restored space. Highly recommended for anyone who wants more than just a place to sleep while in Daman.

+ I had such a great stay at Moustache Hostel in Daman! The location was perfect — close to everything yet peaceful enough to relax. The hospitality was amazing; the staff were friendly and always ready to help. My room and bed were super comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. A special mention to the chef — no matter what you order from the menu, the food is fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Daman!

+ Cet hostel fait du bien !!!! Ça change de ce qu'on peut trouver dans ce coin de l'Inde. Un vrai refuge pour venir enjoy en tant que backpacker (surtout pour les femmes, car il y en pas du tout de disponible dans le Gujarat). Bonne ambiance, jeux et films à disposition. Les lits sont vraiment top et c'est propre. Venez profiter 🙃
