Central Hostel

The bed sheets have large stains. The walls around the bed are also heavily stained and dirty. The charging port by the bed does not work. The ventilation near the bed is extremely loud. There is a lot of creaking noise with almost no movement when lying in the bed. The toilets are in poor condition and are often out of toilet paper. There is no indoor common area to relax in. The location is also quite inconvenient and not central.

this is the only hostel that I have ever stayed that had bed bugs. I was bite from the first night and had to buy medicine to ease the itchy。 Despite the last night I was changed the bed, other nights could not sleep well. They have only one ladder for both upper beds to use, thus it is so inconvenient, it is not so safe to use their half-ladder to climb. I was thrown out of this place by sn offensive, agresivo personaje because I complained (again) about thefts of food. Unacceptable

Mouse poop on bed both nights I stayed there, gunshots/fireworks all night so it was difficult to get good sleep, and impossible to ask the night staff for help on anything. Needed a bag of ice for an allergic rxn to bug bites and the night staff wouldn’t help point me to any place that could help and just went back on his phone

The bathroom in my room had old soap on the floor from previous guest. The room appeared cleaned on the surface but it was hair all in the covers and sheets of both beds and on the floor. It was pretty grosse.

Cons: The door to the dorm is broken (like, there’s a big hole on the bottom) and it also doesn’t close. Bed curtain was wonky. The dorm feels crammed, showers are dark. No social vibe at all. It’s nice that they give you breakfast but I ended up buying my own because theirs was just empty calories. When I got back from Acatenango I wished I’d booked myself a nicer place to chill and recover. Pros: hot water in showers, decent kitchen.

I had booked a three bed private room with shared bathroom for two nights for my friends and I, but we when we got there they told us no such room existed at the property, so they put us in a room with two beds. Having three beds was the only reason we chose this hostel over the others, so I was disappointed at the false advertising. Other than that, the hostel wasn’t that social, but it was clean. It was a little far from the center of town, oddly enough for a hostel named “central”.

I thought it was waaaay too expensive for what it was. (I think they are building a new hostel, because my friend was moved to a different location)

Not worth it. Pods are pretty tatty. Got soooooo many bug bites sleeping here

It's not a reliable place. They canceled my reservation for a private room a day before arrival, which is a significant issue for any traveler. Worse, they falsely claimed on Hostelworld that I requested the cancellation to charge the deposit. Dishonest and unprofessional; I would recommend booking elsewhere. I stayed twice. The first time went smoothly; the place is basic but clean. However, it lacks a social atmosphere.

If you are looking for somewhere simple, safe, but no frills, this place is decent. Me and my partner stayed in a private room and it was relatively spacious. However, the bathroom set up is a little odd - the shower is in the centre of the bathroom so there is no way to shower without the whole room getting wet. The room also had a musty smell. A highlight of this place is how close we were to all the attractions, very walkable. The staff and owner were also very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location super close to the airport. 24/7 staff who are very kind and helpful. Facilities and rooms are very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Good breakfast included. I would absolutely come back here.

Muy a gusto, el personal amable y el lugar muy tranquilo.

Beds are pretty comfy, the bunk room is small but the bright side is it forces you to spend time in the common rooms and socialize and meet amazing people.

Not very social, very basic dorm rooms, okay for a night.

Perfect for a couple of nights in Antigua, simple & just what you neeed. Nothing fancy but staff were super friendly and the place is very chilled :)

Lovely hostel with a good breakfast and a very nice Garden. The staff are very friendly, and the private rooms are well-maintained and clean. The shared toilets and showers are also clean. The large kitchen is great for cooking. The hostel is about a 10-minute walk from the main square. We liked it so much that we actually stayed here three times during our trip!

The deluxe capsule dorm is just bunks with plywood. There was mould in the “capsule”. The sheets were dirty. The showers didn’t work. There was a really bad smell throughout the dorm (probably because guests couldn’t shower). The area is dark and just far enough from town that it doesn’t feel safe at night. It was good value, and there was pancakes for breakfast, but definitely not worth the poor conditions to save a few €. I would not stay again, and wouldn’t recommend here.

very friendly staff, a bit on the outskirts of town but nothing sketchy, just a 15-20min walk to the centre so no biggie, good value hostel

Not the best. Overall just a depressing place. Fulfills its purpose i guess.

I appreciate the seclusion and the idea of trying to be a digital nomad space. I just think this place needs to improve its free breakfast, if you stay for at least two nights it quickly becomes sickening. And the mattresses aren’t comfortable. Otherwise great, clean, and safe!

Fantastic value for money! The staff are very helpful and friendly—they even let me check in at 8am after a night bus. The beds are comfy, and the garden area is lovely to chill in. Free breakfast pancakes & coffee, and a free towel! You get loads of privacy once you’re in your “capsule.” The only negative is that I didn’t find it very social, but I just went over to other hostels, joined their activities/pub crawls, and had a great time in Antigua, You really can't get better value fo...

Good hostel with very kind staff and good facilities. They have a big open garden to chill and meet other travellers. However, they don't offer any activities to meet other travelers like bar crawls, quizzes, etc. I enjoyed my stay here and would come again :)

Central hostel has everything you need! A well-equipped kitchen, great breakfast, and even Colombian tea for free in the evenings! The pods in the 16-bed dorm are great, with all the privacy you need. Sandra and Cesar who run the hostel are so lovely, and help you with anything you need! I came back twice because I felt so welcome and comfortable :) Highly recommend!
