Waiwas Hostel Lombok

This hostel is NOTHING like the images. The images on here show a clean white bed in a well lit dorm, when the reality is that the beds are stained yellow and damp from no ventilation and the dorms are so dark, they resembled a prison. After many months of traveling I have never been unable to stay in a hostel until Waiwas. We showed the images on here to the staff to show the comparison and he just laughed. The manager was extremely difficult and refused to refund us.

Dit hostel was totaal niet wat ik had verwacht. De gezamenlijke ruimte is een fijne plek en het personeel is vriendelijk. Echter, de slaapruimte is vreselijk donker en de slaapkamers zijn klein. De vloer en de muren zien er vies uit, wat het geen fijne plek maakt om te slapen. Ik heb er één nacht geslapen en betaald voor drie, omdat ik dit een vreselijk verblijf vond. Dit is het slechtste hostel waar ik ooit ben verbleven, dus ik raad het zeker niet aan.

For the price, a pretty bad hostel. They say 10 bed dorms here but they are 20 beds in one room. The top bunks are hard to climb up with narrow ladders. Honestly feels a bit dangerous and very hard to store your items. Staff are so kind but are pushy about selling you drinks when you just want to chill. Check out is early and staff come into the room to clean + play music outside at 9:30 in the morning. AC is off most of the day. Was hard to relax here for a high price. Nice communal area tho.

The owner refuses to supply drinking water so that guests will buy water from the bar. The other staff are awesome and helpful though. The free family dinner each night (except Monday) is a nice way to meet people - it’s vegetarian but always just one option (always tasty). The “10 bed dorm” is a 20 bed as others have said. I found the sleeping arrangement very easy in the capsules, nice and dark and has a personal lamp, charging port and locker. Bathrooms were spacious and well lit.

Die Bäder waren fürchterlich, entweder kaputt, kein Wasser, kein Toiletten Papier und ständig alles mit Wasser geflutet. Armatur ging dann auch noch kaputt.. Ein Mitarbeiter hat sich sehr komisch und aufdringlich verhalten, alle anderen waren sehr sehr freundlich und nett. Die Atmosphäre von den anderen Gästen war top, von den Mitarbeitern hat das liebevolle gefehlt gegenüber dem Hostel.

L’impression d’être dans une chambre à gaz. Il allume la climatisation quand bon leur semble en plus.

Honestly the hostels shortcomings (facilities sometimes broken/outoforder, atmosphere, etc) would be ok if it wasnt for the price of around 320k per night.. overall average hostel, atmosphere is a bit weird compared to ither hostels bc of the type of travellers booking a more expensive hostel (my pov)

The concrete ‘cells’ you stay in are uncomfortable, and if you have the misfortune to be allocated an upper cell then good luck - the tiny foot holds are wobbly and you will cut yourself on the sharp concrete trying to scramble into your cell. Every toilet seat is broken. Every hand soap dispenser is empty, and when I asked the staff they just shrugged it off. Totally unhygienic. A family of baby frogs live in the showers. I would not stay here again - it is massively overpriced for what it ...

Wouldn't recommend. I stayed 2 nights and had to change rooms as they were renovating. I booked a 10 bed first room was a 20 and the second 16 beds. My curtains were broken, no soap in the toilets, AC was too strong we were all cold, not social, staff were not helpful with my questions when moving room, were reluctant to give more than one helmet per bike. I don’t usually complain but just too many things went wrong, not worth the money when cheaper options are around.

Great capsule beds and in general the hostel is very clean. The staff is really nice and helpful and we got especially good help from Lorenzo who organised surfing and gave the best tips on where and when to go! Its a good place to stay if you are looking for fellow surfers.

The hostel is really nice and chill. Very social and the family dinners were really lovely and social. Also there was free yoga everyday by nina which was amazing! Only thing are the bathroom facilities that might need some fixes. Maybe the owner can look into repairing this.

Love this hostel 💞 don’t know if I just got lucky with the group of people that were there or if it’s just the general vibe of the hostel but it’s a very chill, relaxed & welcoming crowd. They’ve got a lot of lovely stuff and the people are very nice

Super ordentliches Bad, der schlafbereich fensterlos mit 20 Betten insgesamt wirklich richtig ungemütlich. Die Anlage ansonsten aber gepflegt. Man muss echt ne dunkle Straße lang ein kleines Stück abends eher nicht so schön.

I booked a 10 bed dorm but when I got there, there were not any available and I was told that they didn't have any. I was put in a 20 person dorm and the bed was quite tiny with bugs on the wall. The hostel is about 5-10 minute walk from the main street/food. Aside from being unable to help with the room situation, the staff were friendly and helpful with booking me a taxi to the airport the next morning.

I don‘t the high ratings of this hostel, there are some major issues that should be mentioned. + staff; always friendly & helpful 0 location; okay but not the best - and why is there a security guard? 0 pool - value for money: quite expensive for what you get - safety/ construction issues: the access to the upper bunk beds is whobbly, difficult and not safe at all - they clean everyday, nonetheless it smells like mould - stylish, but soulless There are cheaper, better options in Kuta

Great stay at Waiwas, it’s super chill with lots of awesome space and the best included dinner EVER!!! Definitely more on the chill side but everyone was so kind and the beds are comfy with very clean and spacious bathrooms. 10 min walk to town but they’re also very helpful for booking bikes.

Waiwas was such a nice hostel, the chill vibe in the swimming pool was so nice and the free dinner is so lovely - great way to meet people. Looking forward to returning later in my trip.

Very nice Hostel, close to the Main Street of Kuta. Free dinner every night (only not on Mondays). People always get together then and it's easy to meet others at dinner.
