Hotel Peten Express Tikal

Det är ett hotell, inte ett hostell. Ändå mysigt byggt men sen har dom slängt in några sängar i ett mögligt litet rum som knappt går att vara i. Vi klagade och efter MÅNGA om och men så fick vi ett hotellrum att dela på. Absolut inte värt pengarna då detta även är en av dom dyrare ställena på ön.

For the price you are paying there are so many better options out there. The pool is cool but absolutely freezing. It’s also essentially a dorm room in a hotel so expect hotel prices and no atmosphere. Staff were lovely and the food was good, especially breakfast. But save your money and go somewhere else.

uns hat es dort leider überhaupt nicht gefallen:/ das Zimmer hat nach Chlor gestunken, Boden und Vorhänge waren dreckig oder haben gefehlt, im Bad ist eine Kakerlake langgelaufen und eine Wand hat geschimmelt. Außerdem war die ganze Zeit die Klimaanlage an, wodurch es sehr kalt war. An sich war die Lage aber gut und das Personal nett. Positiv war auch die Möglichkeit für Frühstück to-go. Aktivitäten und Shuttles, die angeboten wurden, waren sehr teuer.

This is more of a leisure centre than a hostel. Our room was right next to the gross indoor pool which meant our room stank of chlorine and was damp. Might i add there was zero ventilation and no windows in the room. Really weird vibe

The positive: breakfast is delicious, the staff are nice. The negative: the dorm was an absolute disaster. There is almost no space, so it gets messy. The AC is blasted throughout the day, which makes the dorm cold, but during the night is turned off which in turn makes the place really hot and stuffy. The most worrying thing I would say is the mould, you can clearly smell it and the shower is completely covered in black mould. The clean clothes in the backpack got the smell after only 2 nights.

When I checked in I was told I would have to switch rooms the next day(booked over a month ago) the first room I was in there was no fan in the bathroom so was extremely humid in the room, black mold everywhere water all over the floor and very dirty. The next day they put me in a different room and this one was better but still black mold and very dirty. The water wasn’t working on the 2nd day, glad I had to leave to catch a bus out of there. There is better hostels to stay for same price.

The dorm I was assigned to was disgusting. A small cupboard like dorm where numerous beds are tightly squeezed together. Belongings all over the floor ready for someone to trip over in the night. One restroom/shower between 10 people. Dampness all over the walls & the room stunk of chlorine. I asked to move dorms & was told it wasn't possible so i cancelled my stay. Was informed I would only be charged one night which was a lie as I have been charged for all 3 - and you charged me after I left

Worst hostel experience during my travels in south and Central America. Our dorm was next to the pool and smelled all over like Chlor. Also there was no window in the room and the floor was complete covered with water so was not possible to leave your backpack there. Stuff was nice but was unable to give us a refund or find any kind of solution. Because of this I would not recommend to stay in this hostel and instead booking the Los Amigos Hostel.

I picked the place for its pool and beachfront location and I saw three amazing sunsets from that pool. What a delight after hiking a lot to enjoy and soak with a refreshing drink from the bar (right at the pool). The hostel rooms are towards the street side and the nightclub can be heard. It wasn’t a big one for me. Private hotel rooms are towards the lake side. The breakfast is included and amazing. You get the environment of a 3-star hotel while staying in a dorm.

Es ist ein Hotel mit Dorms, das spiegelt sich auch in der Atmosphäre wieder. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich, die Betten bequem, Schließfächer vorhanden. Falls das Bad am Zimmer besetzt sein sollte, gibt es zusätzlich außerhalb sowohl Toiletten als auch Duschen. Das Personal ist freundlich, spricht aber leider teilweise gar kein Englisch. Die Auswahl für das inkludierte Frühstück ist groß und es ist lecker.

Really lovely stay. Staff and atmosphere really lovely. Outdoor terrace is lovely! More a hotel than hostel so not a social hub and some hostel rooms very little room to move, but depends what you are looking for, Included breakfast is great and they will make you a packed lunch if you are going early to Tikal or getting and early flight, Would definitely stay again,

Friendly staff, clean bed, they brought me to the airport and got a breakfast to go all included, very nice and would recommend if you need a flight from flores!

Kind of disappointed. There’s no ambiance — it feels like a mix between a chic hotel with a buffet and a backpacker hostel with dorms. Plus, there are several cockroaches in the dorm next to the pool. The only good things are the location. The staff were nice.

Would not recommend staying in the 8 bed dorm - super damp and moldy and no space to put luggage anywhere. But in general the hotel is nice enough, decent free breakfast and the pool is a nice touch. If you can stay in a smaller dorm I think they are meant to be nicer !

El hostal es muy bonito al igual que la vista que tiene. El personal SÚPER amable y siempre están para ayudarte. El único inconveniente fue no se podía ingresar al área de la alberca y disfrutar la vista.

Dorms mit Hotelfeeling, freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstück und super Lunchpakete, wenn man das Frühstück aufgrund von Ausflügen verpasst.

Nice place with good facilities and a great location on the water. The in-house restaurant has lovely views. Can be a touch noisy sometimes with maintenance work or other noise from outside the property.

Hostel très bien placé avec une très belle vue sur le coucher du soleil. Il s’agit plus d’un hôtel que d’un hostel, il n’y a pas de cuisine et peu d’espace commun mise à part le restaurant. Les dortoirs sont délaissés et tout petits, il n’y a pas de fenêtre, pas de crochets dans les douches vous êtes obligés de mettre vos affaires par terre, et si vous souhaitez une couverture il faut donner une caution ! Le personnel est très sympathique !

Great location, excellent service from the staff. Communal areas were very good but the dorm room was cramped. Enclosed bathroom was moldy and poor ventilation left the room feeling damp with a residual smell.

It’s a hotel where they put 10 beds into a room instead of 1. The dorm room was incredibly damp and muggy, even with the AC running. We ended up not shutting the door all night, which helped a bit, but the room was right next to the pool and near reception. Shower had hot water, though. And there was a good view of the sunset over the flooded road in the rear. Breakfast was delicious also.

Bed comfortable, free breakfast was really nice! Pool semi-indoor and not a lot of chairs so if you are planning on lounging by the pool this may not be the best place for you.

I loved staying at this hostel. Great location and the hotel itself was kept very clean. I feel like I got a lot of amenities for what I paid for; living in luxury but on a budget! I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Although this is primarily a hotel, it was such a fantastic hostel stay. The room was very clean, good A/C, privacy curtains, great water pressure in the shower, big lockers, and such a great location in town. There is a free restaurant breakfast and even if you're going on an early tour, they provide a packed lunch (sandwich, fruit, cookie, and juice). It can be quiet at times but there are always other travellers in the hotel, or you can very easily go hang out at one of the livelier hostels t...

Amazing experiences

Der Dormroom ist innen gelegen. Er hat keine Fenster, also kein Tageslicht. Es ist ziemlich stickig im Zimmer. Es gibt keinen Zimmerschlüssel, das Zimmer ist immer offen. Es gibt für jedes Bett einen Locker. Sobald 2 Personen gleichzeitig am Locker sind und mit ihrem Gepäck hantieren ist es zu eng und kein Platz da. Die Dusche selbst ist gut, aber es gibt keine Ablagemöglichkeiten oder Haken für die persönlichen Sachen wie Kleider oder Handtuch. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut.
