Would not recommend. Really small dorm without airconditioning and it is 30 degrees at night. No space for your stuff in the room and the matrass was so thin. The kitchen was absolutely horrible, no plates, no cutlery and super small. Staff was nice though and the breakfast okay.

also das personal war super und hilfsbereit. das hostel war auch nicht schlecht. das problem war dass es in einem sehr gefährlichen viertel liegt und man abends nichts machen kann außer mit uber. das hostel war sauber und groß. ein großes Problem war auch noch dass die küche sehr schlecht ausgesattet ist. also in der küche gibt's weder besteck noch teller. alles in allem war das viertel halt blöd zum verweilen und die küche. gegen das personal und das hostel an sich kann man wenig sagen.

J'ai passé à Salvador de bons moments mais l'auberge n'a pas été un highlight allons nous dire. Je suis arrivé, elle était sale, peuplée, les douche peu propres, ... Et au fil des jours je n'ai pas fait énormément de rencontre. C'est un lieu de passage. Le personnel est aidant.

Les lits n’étaient pas prêts, et le Check in a pris plus de 40 minutes à cause d’un problème de chambre. L’atmosphère est sympa et le lieux très proche des sites touristiques ! Je recommande pour des personnes qui aiment barouder.

Rooms had a few fans so it was good to sleep, but first time I’ve seen male only rooms. Lockers were outside of the rooms near bathrooms and everything seemed clean. There were no activities or atmosphere so it was good mostly for resting. Location is good near the square but still can be sketchy at night.

Good location right next to Pellorinho place with nice staff, room couldn’t lock and communal bathroom, but free breakfast

Algumas portas e janelas carecem de reforma [de modo a aumentar o seu isolamento e eliminar ruídos parasitas quando venta bastante... incomodando mais durante a noite]. O hostel está bem preparado para os dias de calor extenuante, mas já nem tanto para os dias tempestuosos. Há indícios de infiltração pelo telhado. Daí que talvez haja alguma telha rachada que convém substituir... ou colonização biológica nas telhas [que dificulta o escoamento das águas, favorecendo infiltrações].

Friendly staff. Quiet hostel (when I visited) that is right in the centre of the old town. Nice big windows in the dorm. Lovely cafe downstairs to chill in and great breakfast. The kitchen didn’t look great but I didn’t use it. (For other female solo travellers: I’d recommend arriving while its light - old town doesn’t feel very safe walking from the bus at night as it’s deserted and dark. This comment would apply to any hostel in the area. The beach areas felt safer at night.)

Great facilities; nice rooms and good breakfast. The bathrooms could use a little makeover but were clean. Loved the location. Only annoying point was that the wifi was not working great.

The dorms are comfy and the hostel is well located in a safe aera. However, the staff is not very friendly and it was hard to meet people as there is only a tiny outdoor common area.

O hostel é muito bem localizado e o pessoal que trabalha lá é incrível. O café da manhã é maravilhoso! Também me senti muito segura com o policiamento que é na porta e os armários chaveados são num espaço com câmera. As minhas únicas sugestões de melhoria são para o banheiro que necessita de uma boa reforma e para os ventiladores dos quartos, que são insuficientes. De qualquer forma, eu me hospedaria lá novamente. Envio um abraço a todos.

a good experience over-all

Good value for the money and in an amazing location in the heart of historic pelourinho. Pros: good location, value and security. Always security people at the door at night and usually hanging around the block during day. It’s a clean place, I’ve been seeing people washing floors all the time. The breakfast is great! Cons: No AC, no outlets by the beds, internet or WiFi is fine but unstable. It’s fine for English speaking folks but not conducive for making friends.

The staff are helpful and accommodating. I knew I was going to be singing late in the evening and emailed ahead. They had police up front when I arrive and help check me on for bed. Shower me places to visit thought the city and indicate on the maps to help me explore what Salvador has to offer. Helped me with washing and helped with sound my luggage after check out.

This hostel literally saved my life. If you ever don't know what to do in life and are looking for a safe place I recommend it.
