Global Port Douglas

The info claims the hostel is under a year old but everything is worn and shabby. Shower knob came off in my hand. Only one cubicle with toilet roll which ran out and wasn't replaced. Never saw a member of staff. Front door doesn't close and dorm door was wedged open. You have to call them (not WhatsApp) to check in so travellers on a data only sim have to walk to the other backpackers a block away to check in. Long termers friendly enough but it feels like crashing at a house share.

Très bien situé, hostel très calme super quand tu veut être tranquil chambre convenable mais manque de place et de rangements , les clim marche une fois sur deux et quand elle fuit pas .État des matelas déplorable, pas daspirateur dans les chambres je parle même pas du ménage en général dans l’hostel , la cuisine est « nettoyé «  une fois par jours , dans les salles de bains les douches sont pleines de cheveux , manque du papier toilettes 1 fois sur 2 et même pas de quoi ce s...

Linked to Port Douglas Backpackers Hostel. Staff were very friendly and informative about the hostel and day trips. They were deep cleaning on the day I arrived. Leaking aircon was repaired the same day. Lovely food places in walking distance, and 4 mile beach. Other guests were friendly and polite. I didn't quite figure out the laundry, but I also didn't ask. Tokens available for the bar downstairs to get meal deals for $10. Local transport was an issue, but the hostel had recommendations.
