Happiness Hostel

I got bed bugs, additionally when I got there I was informed by the reception that there was a party downstairs organized by the hostel which made impossible sleeping.

Cozy beds an enough and big lockers. The hostel has a restaurant + you get a discount there or also in other stores. Restrooms are a bit small.

I had a pretty rough trip in El Nido but these guys made it much better. I hurt my foot really badly and the staff (specifically James and Celeste) were incredibly helpful. James got me ice, food and medicine because I couldn't move. They fulfilled all my requests. They were super kind and sympathetic even though I was asking so much of them. I ended up spending a lot of time in the social area but not a lot of socializing happened. Some of the events were fun, but short. I'd come back for sure.

Very nice hostel. only problem is it is on top a restaurant that plays loud music. Otherwise staff are lovely, and really helpful in booking tours and facilities are good.

Nice hostel with a good vibe and helpful staff. There is no front door and the balcony sliding doors stay open all the time, so expect to see some roaches on occasion. I didn’t feel unsafe tho because there was staff at the front desk (right by the entrance) 24/7 monitoring who was coming in and out

We've been in the hostel for 4 nights. Atmosphere and staff are really amazing. It's situated in the heart of the town. Underneath there's a lovely bar where you can have breakfast with a discount for the hostel guests. Everything went really smooth, but unfortunately the last 2 nights I spent in the hostel I noticed that casually I started to have bedbugs bites. My legs are pretty covered by those bites. I'm not sure if I've got them there, but i was on a trip tour during the day.

Checked in early which was a big plus. Beds are well-equipped with a locker and extra storage inside, plus sliding doors for privacy and a fan. It can get a bit hot though since the A/C doesn’t reach well when doors are closed. Toilets are okay. Loved the balcony hangout area. Not very social, but staff are helpful. Great location near the port, and the bar below serves amazing Mediterranean food with guest discounts!

Best thing about this Hostel would be the location right there opposite the beach and main party street with all the cafés and bars around, also the staff was really friendly, “Allen” she’s a lovely girl always helpful and smiling. Decent Bathrooms, beds and nice friendly atmosphere

I had a fantastic 5-night stay (March 11–16) at Happiness Hostel! James, Celeste, and the entire team were incredibly polite and welcoming. Located right by the port, it’s a perfect base for El Nido. Working in hospitality myself, these are the people I’d want on my team. Even living abroad now as a Canadian citizen, seeing this level of service makes me so proud to be Filipino. The beach bar is great and the staff is truly what makes the Philippines special. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at Happiness Hostel. The staff gave a very warm welcome and let me store my luggage before check-in. The dorms and showers were clean and cozy, and I loved the relaxed atmosphere. It’s social if you want, but not a party hostel. They even organized a movie night. Free breakfast is included, and guests get a discount at the Happiness restaurant. I wish I had stayed longer!

10/10 for everything. Perfect hostel. Always clean and loads of room in hostel beds to put your stuff.

Clean, comfortable hostel!

Amazing amazing Hostel! The staff is so friendly, all of them. A special Thanks to James and Marriel who I had the opportunity to talk more and helped me in everything I asked and always had a smile on their faces. The bed is comfy with a lot of storage. The bathrooms are always clean. They also serve free coffee, Water, bread, peanut butter and bananas in the mornings! Nice atmosphere with amazing people, but not a party Hostel. I cant recommend this place enough!

Super cool hostel? On a great street next to the beach, staff were really nice and great for evenings, really clean, modern hostel, beds where great and facilities were perfect, great stay book early to avoid disappointment

So happy about everything!! Can second all the positive things that have been said in these reviews already! The only thing that hasn’t been said yet is that you actually get 3 designated hangers per bed- lack of hangers can normally be an issue in dorms. And also I was a bit worried about the roach review below, but I did not see any during my 6 days stay! Amazing hostel in any possible way 🫶

writing this while still traveling — i’ve stayed in so many hostels and Happiness in El Nido is easily one of the best. james, mariella, celeste, joseph and ellen mae are the heart of this place. we got stranded because of a typhoon and they took care of everything, made sure we were safe and okay the whole time. you can’t fake that kind of care. this one stays with me 🤍

Great hostel, location is perfect as it's right in the center of El Nido. Other hostels are a bit further out and you need a moped/tuk tuk to get into town. Cannot fault this place - good social atmosphere, great location and comfy beds

The best and friendliest hostel! I've stayed in a lot of hostels before, but this one was truly amazing! I loved the vibes—such a chill and welcoming atmosphere. The location is great, just a short walk to the beach and other cool spots where you can relax.
