Q Podgorica, beds, rooms and friends

Hostel was fully booked for the next five days, and would not offer any assistance or advice for a traveller in Podgorica looking for a place to sleep for the night. Usually someone would at least offer a couch.

They wouldn’t let me stay if I didn’t spend the night. I just wanted to kill a few hours (roughly 9-12:30) while I was waiting for my bus to Sarajevo. I offered to pay and give my passport but they would not make an exception. My friend also wanted to kill time but she had to wait untill 21:00 so she decided to get a bed and pay the full amount of hitch I think is fair since they will have to wash the linen and won’t probably be able to sell the bed to someone else tonight. Booked a full dorm for 6 for 2 nights on HostelWorld knowing that if under 18 or over 50 cannot be in public dorm. Unfortunately booking a full dorm does not make room 'private' here so when I arrived with my family (4 kids aged 10-16) was not able to stay as kids can only stay in 'private' rooms and dorms are corridors to these rooms. Very far from the center and on the edge of a sketchy industrial estate. Closest shops or bars are miles away. I did not feel safe walking there. The garden‘s nice enough but the dorms are cramped and very basic. Don‘t fall for the „single room“ because it is just a box room otherwise used as a dorm. Too few bathrooms. One can do much better (and cheaper) in Podgorica.

Hello, my “short” experience at this hostel was horrible. We arrive after midnight to the hostel after an HOUR WALK, because the location is horrendous. The mistake we made is that we didn’t see that it was only open between 8h and 22h. Therefore when we arrive there is nobody there. We never had connexion because we are tourists so we couldn’t send a message. But when we arrive there we manage to connect to a free wifi. El hostel está excelentemente decorado; Magdalena la dueña fue muy amable y me dio muy buenas recomendaciones al igual que los voluntarios latinos que trabajan ahí (lo cual me sorprendió mucho estando tan lejos de mi continente). Some nice things about this hostel like the atmosphere and some of the facilities, but they overcharge for laundry and then refuse to allow guests to use the only drying lines in the garden that get sunlight - even though the good lines are mostly empty, they insist on keeping these for the hostel’s linen. Very poor form.

Eigentlich ein schönes Hostel. Es ist etwas vom Zentrum entfernt, was aber mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichbar ist. Dafür ist es ruhig. Wir haben uns leider trotzdem nicht sehr wohl gefühlt. The hostel itself was lovely. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. The receptionist, however, was extremely rude. If you ask any questions she will reply with “ I told you at check in” instead of answering simple questions like how to get a taxi or where the bathrooms are. I found this very offputting. -We stayed at hostel q for two nights. The first night our room door and window were broken. They kept banging open and close due to the wind. We could have locked the door as a precaution but we were told at checkin the door should not be locked. The door was held in place with a stone but someone came in and knocked it down and it woke everyone up. We had no choice but to lock the door and finally we were able to sleep. Ein super Ort um in Montenegro einen Standort zu haben, von dem man die Gegend um Podgorica erkunden kann. Die Hausherrin ist sehr gastfreundlich und kümmert sich um alles. Die Bäder sind sauber und die Betten sind bequem. Es gibt Möglichkeiten sich mit anderen Leuten in den Garten zu setzen, zu kochen oder auch einfach nur um einen Rückzugsort zu haben. Kann ihn wärmstens empfehlen.
