Hostel La Candelaria

The photos are really deceiving of the property. It's not at all good. starting from the dorm to the stairway it's not appealing at all. there after the bathrooms feel like you are in the colonial era with very very basic facilities. also the mosquitos are a big problem.

Ik vond dit niet een fijn hostel. Ik had de tipi geboekt. Het is er erg warm, geen airco. ‘S nachts heb je heel veel overlast van blaffende honden. Daar kan het hostel misschien niet zoveel aan doen, maar het is wel zonde van je geld. Ik ben de volgende dag weggegaan om in een ander hostel te verblijven.

Wasn’t the biggest fan of this hostel, mostly due to lack of vibe. My bedroom was a little bleak, the outdoor shared space was good, but lots of mosquitoes and there wasn’t an indoor communal area. The egg breakfast was excellent, following morning was pancakes. Edgar was very helpful and a good guy. Fortunately I met some great people here though.

La atención del hostel es bastante mejorable. Apenas hay ambiente en el hostel, más bien parece un hotel. Apenas te dan información sobre que hacer en Valladolid. Se puede fumar en la cocina mientras tu cocinas y los otros hablan, por lo que tu te tienes que ir a comer a otra parte. Dos veces en dos días distintos tuvimos que ir a decirles que no había papel en el baño, y las dos veces se quedan sorprendidos y te lo dan y ya. Por lo que el hostel deja mucho que desear. Was a great location and the staff were lovely but the toilet was broken for half of my stay and there was no water pressure.

Beautiful garden with hamocks and a nice kitchen. Had a fun cooking class here but the chef didn’t speak any english which made it difficult. Our 4 bed dorm was quite small and without any window. Also the door could only be lock from the inside which made it feel less secure. Unfortunately one of the staff members forgot what he had promised and it led us to being scammed on the deposit when renting bicycles, which left a bad after taste to a good place. They were very uncooperative to solve ...

Super well located hostel with super friendly staff!. I found the price a bit high, but maybe that's the region, close the party zones in Yucatan that are more expensive than other Mexican regions. But if the price is fine for you, you will like the La Candelaria! I sure did

+: clean, good location, beautiful garden, nice breakfast -: weird A/C policy, obviously made for them to spend as less money as they can, and us to spend as much as they can. Didn’t really feel like a guest, more like a walking wallet

Great location, very good food, but downstairs shower and toilets are no so convenient

I had a short saty at Candelaria. The hostel was nice, especially the back yard and kitchen/hang out area. The room was too small and not enough space to keep a bigger backpack.

Loved this hostel . Everything was perfect ! Totally recommend it . Andrea and Tina are so helpful with the tips . Definitely recommend it .

Staff were the best, breakfast included was a huge perk, and the common areas are beautiful and great for making friends. Great location. I did feel like the room was dirty and musty, I was given a pillow case that was too small and didn’t fully cover a very old, stained pillow, and they don’t give you a fitted sheet so the sheet comes off resulting in you accidentally making contact with the mattress which is gross. Everything else was good

Amazing hostel, super friendly and helpfulll staff. They help you oganise activities, such as cocking class and visiting cenotes. The garden offers plenty of space to chill. Great location and social vibes, even in low season.

Ein super schönes Hostel! So liebevoll gestaltet und ein klasse Frühstück sowie sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeitende. Lediglich ein weiterer Vorhang am fußende im female dorm und weniger helle Lampen am Bett wären supi. Ich würde sofort wiederkommen!

Calm hostel with a nice garden to hang around in the evenings. Breakfast was really good fresh made. Everybody was very kind and gave nice advices for activities in and around the city.

Increible todo

The hostel itself is very beautiful and has a stunning garden. It is located close to the center but far enough so that you do not hear the noise of the cars. The staff is super nice and helpful. Furthermore the hostel is very clean and the room we had, a private room, was not only really spacious but also quite cheap. The breakfast was prepared freshly and tasted really good. If you go to Valladolid, I can definitely recommend staying here :)

Nous avons réserver une chambre pour deux pour une seule nuit. Tout était parfait : Check-in rapide et efficace avec toutes les explications, chambres propres et rangée, location de vélo pour la journée qui s’est passé à merveille et petit déjeuner le matin inclus. Le seul problème est que l’isolation avec la cour extérieure n’est pas terrible et donc on entend facilement ce qu’il se passe dehors donc prévoyez des bouchons.

relativ zentral gelegenes und wunderschön buntes Hostel mit vielen guten Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten mitten im Grünen oder überdacht. Gut ausgestattete Küche, man kommt hier gut in Kontakt mit anderen und sehr leckeres, typisches Frühstück. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und super auskunftsfreudig über alles, was wir so wissen wollten über Umgebung/Kultur/Aktivitäten/... (großes Danke nochmal). Gute Möglichkeit, hier Fahrräder auszuleihen + zu Cenote zu fahren+es gibt hier gute güns...

Un des meilleurs hostels que j’ai pu voir au Mexique. Propre, emplacement parfait, beau à l’intérieur et tranquille, super petit déjeuner, pratique dans le sens qu’on y trouve toutes les choses nécessaires dans une auberge. L’endroit est beau et bien décoré, avec un jardin ou on y trouve des espaces tranquilles pour se reposer. Les douches et toilettes sont propres. Et le personnel de réception serviable. Je recommande à 100%

superbe établissement, tant par le bâtiment et le magnifique jardin que par la gentillesse du staff ! les petits déjeuners sont hypers bons, l'eau est gratuite c'est vraiment agréable, la chambre était Bien et l'hostel est bien placé : à l'écart de l'agitation et pourtant proche du centre, de la gare.. endroit que je recommande grandement !

Lovely quiet hostel, very pretty, not super social but that’s ok! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and we rented bikes that were in good condition and reasonably priced

One of my favorite hostels in the world, beautiful location, amazing home cooked breakfast, friendly staff and guests. Only thing is the toilets are outside which can get a little freaky at night if you’re scared of snakes like me, plus no bar but it’s not a party town so all good. Attracts a great crowd and feels like living in paradise, lots of people in private rooms though!

this is what i understand a hostel should be. atmosphere, caring, supporting socializing by creating the space for it, not overly fancy but with love and creativity. hostelling in the true sense. great house with history, great breakfast, great information and service for everything a traveller needs. LOVED it!! THANKS to all.

Sehr liebevoll gestaltetes Hostel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt :)

Rustig hostel net buiten het centrum. Er is een grote tuin vol groen met genoeg zitgelegenheden en een paar hangmatten. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en ontbijt was inbegrepen. Er is geen bar dus verwacht geen feest hostel, maar een plek waar je lekker uit kan rusten en af en toe wat mensen kunt ontmoeten.

I felt really welcome and good here. Some issues with the water on one day, but it happens. Can totally recommend!

Sehr zentral und gut gelegen. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber gut eingerichtet, nur die Schliessfächer (im Zimmer) waren etwas klein und in die Jahre gekommen. Freundliches Personal und alles sehr unkompliziert. Es gab jeden Tag ein anderes Frühstück, welches a la minute zubereitet wurde. Wunderschöner Garten. Aus zwei wurden vier Nächte dort…auch wenn 2x das komplette Haus ohne Wasser war.

Bâtiment historique devant un parc animé..Restos autour. Bus ADO et collectivos Il Balsm et Chichen Itza à moins de 10 minutes à pied. Cenotes. Location de vélos sur place. Expérience authentique mexicaine! J'adore les hamacs entourés de verdure. Bon dejeuner et café. Eau gratuite. Personnel très utile et bienveillant. Je recommande cette perle!
