cockroaches EVERYWHERE! Disgusting. its a good location and a social hostel but i couldnt stomach the bug infestation. Literally found one scuttling out of my suitcase 🤢

Good hostel. Expensive compared to others nearby. Very small rooms but adequate. Security isn’t great, anyone can walk in during the evening and get access to the rooms very easily. No air con. Staff were great, they arranged a refund for one night even though it was against their policy.

Why HostelWorl deducted my money on my account? i stayed at the hotel and checked out on 16th April only for you guys to charge my credit card usd 23.00$ for what ? i paid my accommodation in full at the hotel.

Good location, friendly staff and very clean. However, the bathrooms smelled bad, it was very noisy especially in the mornings and there was no hot water in two bathrooms. I had to go to another floor to shower. Overall okay, but I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

It's in a good location, nice and clean and has some communal areas. But I didn't find it particularly cosy or outstanding, it's just an okay hostel. I had a private room facing table mountain. Every night around 1 am, for about half an hour, someone disposed off bottles - I guess from the nearby bars, just outside my window. So either sleep with earplugs, or wait until 2 to go to sleep. The hostel advertises a lot of activities, without mentioning that most are suspended in winter.

Staff were all lovely. Atmosphere was missing hugely however. I changed to the green point location and it was much better! I guess it’s pot luck! Also nearly got scammed on kloof street right outside. I just much prefer green point!

Decent hostel. Although the dorm rooms are right above a noisy bar which can make trying to sleep pretty impossible until they close. The hostel is pretty small in terms of activity space outside of your assigned dorm room. The main redeeming quality was the awesome activities they held but nearly none of them were free or are included with your stay

There's essentially zero security because the bar on the second floor is open to the public, so tons of non-guests are coming through all the time and the doors to the hallways don't lock. Also, SO HOT in the room when the fan turns off during loadshedding at night. Totally unbearable, we all were dripping sweat. It was a nice hostel but these things were deal breakers to me

Unfortunately, was really disappointed, it’s in one of the best locations and the staff is super friendly, but I just felt like it was just unsafe too many people were coming in and out and you could hear like my neighbors complaining that they were having issues with random people coming through. It was really weird and it seemed like the staff didn’t know how to handle situations as well. Overall, the kitchen was really nice and nice location.

I didn't get the chance to stay here actually because upon arrival, I was told that my certified ID copy will not be accepted. I'm Sout African, born and bred here and I had an incident took place a few weeks ago therefore didn't have my ID present at that moment. So I was rejected and had to wonder around with my luggage while looking for another backpacker. Luckily, I found one about an hour later. I'll never consider staying at this backpacker again. Had such a terrible experience.

Good location and nice facilities that made it feel more like a hotel than a hostel even in a shared dorm room.

This is the best hostel in the world and I have been everywhere. First the welcome, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Next the facilities, the room has on suite shower 4 beds, but the kitchen facilities have everything. Each evening there is an activity from games night to movie night. The location is perfect, plenty of bars from the quiet local pub to the more lively music scene. Never before have I wanted to tell the staff all about my day but they made me feel so at home

This hostel has really friendly and helpful staff, and a good central location. However, we were in Cape Town during a heat wave and the dorms were unbearably hot with no AC. Also the street outside is very noisy, but if you want a party hostel then this is a good location for bars etc

Never At Home is the best hostel in Cape Town and the Kloof Street location is top tier vibes. The staff is amazing; everyone from the beautiful, friendly, and funniest Nicky at the front desk to the insanely fun, adventurous, and amazing tour guide Phil. I’ll always stay at Never At Home when I’m in Cape Town and I put that on my last name!!!

Best hostel we did in capetown

Very good location, cool offers/tours organized by the Hostel. The staff was OK but not very nice/helpful. Other than that i loved the stay!

Good enough hostel in great location. I was only missing curtains at the bed and found the offered tours too expensive. Be aware that the hostel hosts language school students, who come in groups which made it somewhat difficult to meet others.

Fica numa rua movimentada com várias opções de bares, restaurantes e supermercados. Entretanto, o quarto acaba sendo barulhento por isso. Meu quarto não tinha ar condicionado e batia sol da tarde muito quente.

The best is the one at greenpoint

Beautiful location, kind people and very convenient. Also for someone on a work trip. Just only ventilator and no AC, so rooms can get very hot in summer.

Really lovely staff and place. A lot of thought has gone into the activities available. it's a good hotel alternative too for a more fun stay with very good private rooms

It was a nice hostel with a great terrace. The kitchen had 3 stove tops but at two of them just one plate was working so for such a big hostel it is a somewhat small kitchen. The activities a very great to get to know new people and start in the day.

In total I spent 5 nights here and had a blast! The hostel had the perfect location to discover the city and nearby cafés and pubs by foot. The volunteers made everyone feel very welcome and tried to include everyone into the activities. Through various hostel activities, such as hiking, braai, yoga etc. it was very easy to meet people from all over the world and share travel stories! Would definitely book again 🤗
