Reception was closed 12–3, so I arranged self check-in by email. They said my key would be in a lockbox, but it wasn’t. I waited outside until a girl came out. I thought she was another guest because after I vented my situation, she just left. Later I found out she was staff who didn't bother helping get me my key. The place smelled awful, rooms were cramped and dirty, with dead bugs and dust. Toilets were tiny and unhygienic, with one disgusting shared towel to dry hands. Not worth it.
The bedrooms are full of dust. There were stains on the bed frame of the bed I slept on. The window in our room was broken and the room smelled horrible and there was no means of ventilation. Additionally, the reception area smelled horrible, some sort of cheese smell… Be prepared to pay almost 39 euros a night for something that should be 15. They also had a shared hand towel in the female toilets… so you’re saying all the females use the same towel? Recoltong.
Sign on gate not saying Annecy Hostel. Walked around looking. Rude man at the desk wanted me to hurl my luggage on top of everyone else’s in the storage room. I didn’t think that was a good idea then he says what would you do then? 5 cm from my face in an intimidating manner. Shower flooded. Unable to squeeze in & out of female toilets. Funny , the males quite roomy. Stinky kichen. Damagingly loud smoke alarm went off due to cooking.
Chambre sale. Douche qui déborde. Cuisine mal entretenue. Pas très propre en général.

Mes colocataires anglaises étaient irrespectueuses, à faire des trucs dans la chambre après minuit parce que ça leur plaisaient , elles!!!! Aucun respect d’Hautecombe, vive l’individualisme! Comment on fait société après??? Je ne reviendrai pas.
My English roommates were disrespectful, doing tricks in the bedroom after midnight because they liked it, they!!!! no respect to hautecombe, long live individualism! how do we get along after??? i won't be back.
Auberge pas propre. Poile de chien qui traîne partout. Personnel désagréable surtout la dame avec sont bébé irrespectueuse. Une douche pour 12 personne et un WC pour 12 personnes. Une arnaque totale. Je déconseille un séjour là-bas
Hostel not clean. dog hair hanging everywhere. nasty staff especially the lady with the baby are disrespectful. a shower for 12 people and a toilet for 12 people. a total scam. i do not recommend a stay there
L'étage où se trouvait la pièce sentait l'urine. La douche de la chambre était inondée et sentait l'urine. l'espace de réception trop en désordre. le coin cuisine sale et en désordre. il n'y avait pas de savon pour se baigner. et les serviettes qu'ils m'ont données malgré leur facturation n'étaient pas de la bonne taille
The floor where the room was was smelling of urine. The shower room in the room was flooded and smelled of urine. the reception area was too messy. the corner kitchen was a mess. there was no soap to bathe in. and the towels they gave me despite their billing were not the right size
They have a beautiful space outside that it can’t be used at night, and there is no space enough for people down inside. Also the personal is not good at all, I asked for something one night and they said I should ask at morning, and at morning they said that I should ask the night before, not all the personal speaks English (that is not my language but is mandatory if you are running a hotel) and prices are too expensive only because is the only hostel in Annecy. So you can’t choose.
truly disgusting, rude staff & hot rooms. stay somewhere else i literally have a one star not a two but the app is rigged
No hot water! Lights flicker and dont stay on. Feels like a prison. Beer garden closed.

I loved my stay in the hostel. It’s absolutely budget friendly and staffs were really nice. I met many like minded people. I wish I could stay there for longer. I loved the dog in the property very well trained and clam. I definitely would visit again ❤️
Le personnel est sympa et l’établissement est propre et proche du centre ville. Je recommande.

Rooms themselves were ok besides not being able to open the window because it was broken. Having an en-suite sink and shower was nice but the shower was kind of scary and each floor had a single tiny toilet, one for men and one for women. The common area was pretty small with really old couches, overall things felt pretty cramped in an old run down building.
Buen hostal, Para ser perfecto le falta la relación calidad-precio.

Atendentes gentis, aceitam guardar bagagem e fazer check in antecipado se o quarto já estiver limpo. Chuveiro dentro do quarto mas privativos são compartilhados no andar, não foi um grande problema.
Please take care to store your luggage and check in in advance to make sure the room is already clean. shower inside the room but private rooms are shared on the ground floor, it was not a big problem.
great hostel with good social vibe, great for making friends with other guests and the volunteer staff :)
Insgesamt ein sehr sympathisches Hostel mit Bar und nettem Außenbereich:) Super Küche! Die Zimmer und Toiletten sind nicht mehr unbedingt in einem super Zustand, aber wenn man sich daran nciht stört, wird man hier glücklich.
Overall a very nice Hostel with Bar and nice outdoor area:) Super Kitchen! The Rooms and Toilets are no longer necessarily in a super condition, but if you bother with them, you will be happy here.

O hostel fica a quinze minutos do city center, a zona parece segura e a staff foi simpática. Os lençóis e fronhas estavam limpos mas o travesseiro e a cama cheiravam muito forte a suor. Havia um mosquito morto na parede do banheiro e esteve já pelos dois dias da minha estadia, Limpeza geral nao era boa, nao havia sanita no banheiro do quarto.
The hostel is fifteen minutes from the city center, the area seems safe and the staff was friendly. The sheets and fronts were clean but the pillow and bed smelled very strongly of sweat. There was a dead mosquito on the bathroom wall and it had already been for two days from my stay, the general cleaning was not good, there was no sanitation in the bathroom in the room.

Stayed in the private room so this may be a little swayed. But the staff was helpful! And the deal on bike rentals from the hostel was awesome.
Kitchen, fridge, & food storage was nice. Not much going on at the hostel, but really nice bike rental. Overall fairly clean but the bathroom was not! The shower curtain didn’t touch the floor so there was water everywhere and so much hair and dirt on the floor. It was like that when I arrived and I stayed for 3 nights and it hadn’t been cleaned during that time. Also may have been mold on the curtain and ceiling. But besides the bathroom it was a nice place to stay and good location.

I enjoyed my time here. Big terrace with a bar, great vibe. Provides all the hostel essentials. Fair price for the accommodation prices in Annecy. Thank you for everything :)
i was skeptical because of some of the reviews but i actually really liked this hostel. it was full of cool people who all liked adventuring the kitchen was good, free coffee and tea (no milk but that’s okay) you can rent bikes which was really cool :) the bathrooms were fine the beds were clean and comfy and the reception staff were really nice and helpful there were some cool clothes markets right next door which was very cool too
