J-Hoppers Osaka Universal

I have been staying in hostel's for last 10+ years and this is the worst experience I had so far. The location and the facility available is worst. I will never recommend this facility to anyone

Bed bugs!! My sister got bitten all up her back. Vibe is really average didn’t have much of a drinking culture! Also the hostel is in the middle of nowhere not even near a 7/11 only good if ur staying at universal that’s it

This hostel is only a good option if you go to universal studios. Even if you do go, the atmosphere was very boring and the guy with the man bun behind reception needs lessons in manners and customer service. He was very rude.

No Drying towel, diluted hand soap and charging area is not properly set up where you can.put your cellphone. Cold water on washing areas, t makes our gum sensitive and hands dry and painful.

All in all a decent hostel. The facilities were good, very spacious bed area to put your belongings and comfy showers. However the common area was not a good place to relax, as the music played in the hostel was often loud and relatively aggressive. In the morning I used my sleeping earplugs to make having breakfast bearable. The staff was actually very nice and friendly, but because of the noise, I wouldn’t stay here again.

It was a nice property but it was quite out of the way, which made it hard to get anywhere quickly. I think it just felt a bit isolated. Also wasn't very social as there's not really anywhere to properly hang out except the reception area where people kind of just did their own thing. It didn't really feel like a dedicated space to hang out. None of the places I stay in japan were super social though so it might just be that people enjoy their own company. The hostel is a bit far from the hot spots in Osaka but it has a nice staff. The showers are the kind where you have to keep pressing a button for the water to come out. Not a social hostel, it's just for sleeping. You need to make your own bed with the sheets. I liked the extra area near your bed where you can put your suitcase.

Location is good, even when you're not planning to go to Universal. The station is a short walk away and from there you can get anywhere. Staff was very nice and facilities were great, I especially liked that you get your own secluded little space with your bed. The atmosphere was a bit meh, to be honest. Overall the bathroom spaces weren't super clean, I think due to so many people using them during the day, which is understandable but still not super comfortable.

It’s a little out of the way of your planning other activities in Osaka. Staff weee nice and friendly. Almost all locations were very clean but I felt a little uncomfortable with all the hair in the shared bathroom.

Everything great but showers are small

We really enjoyed J-Hoppers and even booked an additional 2 days. The staff was very friendly, the facilities were clean and well stocked and the common area was comfortable. It was in a great location for Universal and Osaka trips, my brother and I would highly recommend this stay.

Probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Absolutely loved the layout of the beds and love how your belongings can be stored in your little space behind the curtains. The overall cleanliness of the place is very good as well as you would expect from Japan ❤️ Only disadvantage of this place is its location is quite faraway from a convenience store for food.

It was really nice staying there. I was in a female 8-bed dorm and had big space next to the bed to put all ur stuff, toilets and showers were always clean the staff is nice and trainstation is just a 4 min walk.

Great hostel, 20 minute walk to universal and 5 minutes from the train station.

I like the hostel since it’s clean and it’s close to universal studio.

Family Mary not too far, but there is nothing else around the hostel. The train station is not too far either, and going to Universal is one station away. Room was perfect, I had plenty of room for my suitcase.

J-Hoppers Osaka Universal is a wonderful Hostel. I loved staying there. I connected easily with the staff, had enough space in my bunk bed for me and my luggage and the common room was very comfy. There were many people who were always in the mood for a chat. Simultaneously it is also very easy to have some me time. The staff is exceptional and always willing to give some tips for the area. I will be coming back. Thank you!

The best hostel option if you want to go to Universal Studios or if you have a JR Pass and ride the Osaka Circular train. It is very clean and the bathrooms and restrooms were always available, didn't have to wait. Big common area with a good kitchen.

A really good hostel, other guests talking till 1am but not the fault of the place, would 100% stay again, walking distance to universal
