Hostal La Casa de Juan

It was very dirty evrywhere. The dormroom, the shower, the kitchen. There was no airconditioning in the room so it was very warm. I dont want to be rude but it was actually the most dirty hostel where i have ever been.

the staff was nice.Loud music from 7am to 2am.the 15-bed dorm was disgusting. The bathroom was full of mold and stank.When showering the bathroom flooded and water ran into the room. Only 1 bathroom for 15 people. My bed was filthy.There were no electrical plugs the beds.The kitchen was disgusting.there was no proper common area.The loud music made it impossible to start a conversation. For very young people,this might be a great hostel, but if you value peace and cleanliness, then not really.

Il y avait des punaises de lit dans notre lit, nous avons dû dormir chez un membre de la famille d'un employé et ils n'ont pas voulu nous rembourser la nuit. Les installations étaient un peu insalubre.

I booked a private room but on arrival it was not available because they overbooked. They told me it was miscommunication because I had been texting about extending for a night but the same night a couple came in and it was the same story. Reading the reviews it happens a lot so for some reason they can’t manage it. Unprofessional. They put us in a house close by, very old and noisy house and had to share the bathroom/toilet with 4 others. Unfortunate because the staff is really kind.

Unreliable and potentially unsafe place to stay: The property roughly meets the advertised commodities, the common areas appear to have been neglected, dorms do not include safe areas to keep belongings stored and management expects travelers to leave their belongings unattended on the bunk beds even when the travelers need leave the hostel, regardless of having canceled in full the total amount agreed of nights at the moment of arrival; there's no guarantee of having the beds reserved.

Een vies hostel. Overal liggen haren, schimmel. Volgens mij wordt hier zelden schoongemaakt. En dan hadden wij zelfs de privékamer. Zou niet willen weten hoe de dorms zijn

I got a skin infection from staying here. A week later & my face is still covered in sores. Also, when we came back to the room (the door to which was always left open by a member of staff who was also sleeping there), there was a stray dog in my friends bed. When we got the dog to move, we saw the dog had peed in the bed. They changed the sheets & my friend moved to another bed, but that dog urine definitely seeped into the bed & they didn't sort that. Far from town - would not recommend.

Für das was man bekommt viel zu teuer. Wir hatten eine Reservierung für ein Privatzimmer inklusive eigenes Badezimmer. Als wir im Hostel ankamen hieß es allerdings es gäbe keine freien Zimmer mehr sondern nur noch einen Trailer in dem wir schlafen können. Trotz Reservierung haben wir also am Ende in einem heruntergekommenen Trailer, ohne Badezimmer geschlafen, welchen man nicht einmal abschließen konnte. Auch die gemeinschaftliche genutzten Sanitäranlagen lassen zu wünschen übrig.

Une catastrophe!! Le personnel était au premier abord sympa à me promettre une navette pour ma prochaine destination, un guide pour les hike, etc et au moment venu ils changeaient tous les plans. Les hikes sont faisables seule donc pas de soucis pour ça mais pour la navette ça m’a clairement handicapé j’ai du tout organiser moi-même en last minute et ils m’ont donné des indications erronées quant à où prendre mon bus jusqu’à ma shuttle! Niveau propreté j’ai jamais été dan...

Juan was a great guy!! However we slept in a different house because the hostel was full. It was all clean, but still felt a bit chaotic.

To me this is exactly the kind of hostel vibe I want to have when travelling. You don’t go to this place for the facilities, you go for the experience. It reminds me of community, freedom and art surrounded by beautiful nature and amazing open welcoming staff. I recommend this special hostel to everyone. In my opinion it’s the best hostel in El Vale De Anton. Don’t trust any medium reviews about this place. You just need to experience it for yourself. Thank you for opening this space 🙏�...

Don’t usually leave reviews but I felt compelled to write one for Case de Juan. A great time, super social and great vibes. Special shout out to Jerry and Reuben for being welcoming.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to for this one. I thought this was a very great hostel. The staff were very helpful, it’s in a great location, and it definitely isn’t dirty. There were also a lot of hammocks to swing away your afternoon. The only downside is there are a lot of people in a dorm for only one bathroom. I would still recommend it!

I stayed hear for 2 nights in a private room, when we checked in our room was not ready, this was no problem but when it was ready our mantras was wet with a plastic cover to stop our bedding getting wet. This was uncomfortable to sleep on. The kitchen is not big enough for the number of people cooking and was generally unhygienic. Besides this, the staff and other travelers were friendly.

Great hostel to stay at Valle de Anton. The staff is so friendly and there were always good vibes. I had an unforgettable time

Definitely one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in. Such nice people and a very chill atmosphere. There’s a big garden with hammocks to chill and enjoy sloths, monkeys and birds. I really hope to come back one day!

Außenbereich sehr cool und entspannt, es gibt eine Küche, die sehr ranzig ist und die Zimmer fand ich bisher das schlimmste in Panama, da alle Matratzen komplett verschimmelt waren inkl. Kissen und Bettdecke. Generell hat auch die komplette Decke geschimmelt und die Dreier Stockbetten waren sehr wackelig. Auch Streuner Hunde und Katzen können einfach reinlaufen, wenn nicht eingepasst wird, diese haben Flöhe. Der Billiardtisch ist positiv. Das Personal konnte uns gut zur Weiterreise helfen...

only one shower and toulet in one in the room, not a lot lockers, not really clean but was okay, kitchen was a bit small for everyone, the hammocks were great, pool table and table tennis, good seating area outside, great staff

Muy amable el personal en especial Ruben y muy buen ambiente del lugar. Faltaria mejorar un poco la limpieza y seria un muy buen lugar

Ich war sehr enttäuscht von meinem sehr schmutzigen Privatzimmer. Man hat deutlich gesehen, dass das Zimmer schon länger nicht mehr geputzt, sondern einfach nur die Bettwäsche gewechselt wurde. Ich habe das Zimmer schlussendlich selbst geputzt. Die fachliche Kompetenz der Putzkraft muss ich wirklich in Frage stellen. Mein Putzlappen war schwarz vor Dreck!

Posto con molte potenzialità, bel clima, personale gentile ma trasandato e poco pulito in particolare la cucina e gli spazi comuni

We had a private room and it was really nice. A beautiful place with a huge garden where you can enjoy the birds and butterflies :)

If you consider hygiene important, i would NOT recommend booking this hostel (the dorms in particular). Moldy beds, pillows, shower curtain & ceiling. I really struggled with this. My pros for this place: location is good, decent kitchen and it is a relatively social hostel.
