Hostel Tenerife

Terrible. I really don't know how this place have so many good reviews. Everything was really dirty, I never set on the toilets and the shower downstairs have no hot water. The one upstairs it had it but is always busy and you cannot use it after 11pm. The walls are very thin and you could hear EVERYTHING from next door. It looks like nobody is taking care of the place for ages even tho there is someone pretending to clean because it was constantly dirty. This place is NOT clean at all.

I am sorry to say, but the cleanliness was not satisfying at all. There were ants in the bed sheets and mosquitoes flying around in my room, I could barely fall asleep. I didn’t even shower in there, I chose to move on to the next location. This was the case of a private room, don’t know about the others but I left disappointed considering I paid more than 25€ for this.

They owners were as warm as german or austrian could be. The main yard smells like sewage and the kitchen is well equiped. It's a place to consider as a last resort. It would have been nicer to be better treated

I was relocated to a completely different location in La Orotava, because there was an “overbooking” at the Hostel Tenerife.

I stayed only for one night , it was for me an uncomfortable situation , there was no English speaking host . It was working with google translation but I didn’t feel that I can get information about the area from here. I think it was clean but my room was shared beside the toilets and it smelled really bad from them + you could hear everything . The people where really nice and I can definitely figure my travel out by myself but I love staying in Hostel because of the comfortable safe fee...

Nice hostel, great staff! But the key for the locker didn’t work and the WI-FI is terrible.

The hostel offers friendly staff and an attractive price point. However, the aged facilities emit an unpleasant odor, and the presence of mold in the bathroom raises hygiene concerns. Regrettably, we cannot recommend staying here due to the overall discomfort and hygiene issues, despite the friendly service and affordable rates.

Spacious rooms, comfy beds, cozy living room. The roof top terrace is a very nice place to hang out. The owner is a bit loud but super friendly and helpful

Overall a really nice hostel :) location is good, both La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz are easy to reach (by foot and bus). The owner was very welcoming and accommodating, the other hostel guests were friendly and sociable but also considerate (not a party hostel, you can get a good night's sleep there ;) ). It's a bit run down but the warm atmosphere makes up for it. Would go there again

A lovely hostel in the heart of la orotava, very well situated, close to shops which are nearby and also down the hill so prepare yourself for some steep walks, there is a lovely roof top terrace where you can have your breakfast and it has great views looking down into Puerto de la cruz. Which you can also catch a bus nearby to go there. I met lots of great people there and had an amazing time. Highly recommended.

This is the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at! Great people, a perfect location, and in such a beautiful city. It really feels more like a shared home than a hostel. Highly recommend!

Ostello fantastico un atmosfera come pochi, proprietari davvero carini e disponibili per qualsiasi cosa.

A beautiful hostel, from the first moment we felt as if we were home. In the hostel we only met nice people, especially the volunteers were heart warming world travellers. We loved to spent the mornings and evenings on the rooftop terasse where you have a great view up to the mountain and down to the sea. All in all we loved our stay and would definitely recoment the hostel.

Based on previous reviews on Hostelworld, my choice to stay at Hostel Tenerife didn't disappoint. I wanted to stay in the north of the island in La Orotava for a quieter visit to Tenerife, and also in a less touristy area. As advertised, this hostel provided a peaceful haven, ideal for a relaxed stay due to a nice atmosphere, and a great host in Elias. Met some nice folk into the bargain - and will definitely return. If you want to party all night then visit Ibiza, Ayia Napa or somewhere else.

I had a wonderful stay in this hostel ! The owner is very nice and will prepare very good breakfast 👌 The hostel is well located if you want to visit the Teide without a car (about 1h of bus for 5€) and is also in the very cute city of La Orotava.

Sehr tolle Lage, in einem kleineren Ort mit wunderschöner Altstadt und abseits des Massentourismus. Dennoch mit dem Bus sehr gut angebunden, man kommt in 30 min nach Puerto de la Cruz oder zum Wandern Richtung Teide. Im Ort selbst gibst es aber alles was man braucht. Im Hostel ist eine sehr entspannte Stimmung, wer ruhe und nette Gespräche sucht ist hier genau richtig. Es ist definitiv kein Party Hostel. Super lieber Besitzer der gerne hilft und manche Geheimtipps hat.

Amazing little town on a quiet part of Tenerife. The staff was so nice. We returned for an unexpected second night just to enjoy the ambiance and the town once again.

Sehr schönes, kleines und gemütliches Hostel! Freundliches Personal, gut ausgestattete Küche und schöne Dachterasse. Der Ort Orotava ist ganz süß! Gute Lage für Teide Wanderungen, man ist auch relativ schnell in Santa Cruz.

Cute little hostel in wonderful location of the old town La Orotava. Very friendly and flexible staff. Nice atmosphere, plenty of common space to chill at. Not the cleanest, shower was moldy and rooms smelled musty. No lockers, so I had to carry valuables with, but since it's a small hostel, you kinda know everyone. Showers were a bit unreliable with warm water.

great hostel

it's a pain to get here. its very isolated and very far uphill. but beggars cant be choosers. it felt very homey, and the hostel owner (tall Austrian guy) is very nice.

Hi this place is in the top of my top ten hostels I have stayed at and I have done hundreds over the years. And the location is perfect for me and the scenery is pretty awesome from the rooftop by the way it's on the side of a volcano so it's pretty steep!!!
