Kochill

This was my first solo trip in India. Felt very safe here. Service was slow, even though they have a cafe and menu, most of the times there was no one there to take your order or make anything. But you free to buy your own supplies and use the kitchen, which i eventually did. But apart from this, the rooms were really clean and comfortable. The towels however are old and smelly and definitely need to be changed. The staff are really sweet but not really helpful with any sort of recommendations.

The owners were so lovely, they helped us reserve Kathakali dance tickets and were just very friendly in general. There’s a laundry service which is pretty quick and very convenient. The location was good, a short walk to the main shops and restaurants areas. The room itself was quite small and the main issue was that it was very very hot. There is no AC just a fan and it got very stuffy very quick. But in general a good stay!

its ok. the host is really nice and helpful. AC works. We didnt have hostel atmosphere because the few people there only stayed for one night

Everything is kept clean. Babu was very helpful with everyone trying to find their way around Kerala. Cash only payment.

Babu was a friendly and enthusiastic host. You can tell he wants the hostel to succeed and be a fun, warm place for travelers. The rooms could use mosquito nets for the one or two that sneak in but it wasn’t bad. The facility is a little older but is kept clean and tidy. It was quality and comfortable stay!

Babu was the most welcoming host. He invited us for a cup of tea and to play a game and helped us arrange a booking for our trip the next day. He explained what we should and should not do in Kochi and was just very helpful. The room was quite nice. There were towels and the room was clean. The location is very good, just a 10 minute walk to the boulevard with the chinese fishing nets. Although we were the only guests in the hostel al this time we felt very welcomed and had a wonderful stay.

Chill atmosphere and super nice and helpful staff!

Had an incredible stay at Kochill! The room was very clean and location was in a great spot (close walk to everything, but in a quiet lane), felt very safe the whole time as a solo female traveller. The food in the hostel was delicious and Babu and Kurumi were so wonderful, lovely and helpful, stayed for a week and felt right at home! Highly recommend, and can’t wait to come back :)

I had a short but really good stay at Kochill. The room was clean and comfortable, and I had a lovely cooked breakfast while I was there. The location is great, just a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Fort Kochi. Nanu and Kurumi are great hosts and were really friendly and helpful.

Kochill was a lovely place to stay in fort Kochi! Babu and Kurumi were lovely hosts who were kind and always up for a chat. The place was clean and rooms were as described except for aircon but the presence of multiple fans made do. I would definitely stay again :)

Wonderful hostel- perfect location! Room and bathroom were spotless and staff were super friendly. Babu Anna has many recommendations for activities nearby and will book them for you as well. Def recommend if you want to stay slightly away from the noise of Fort Kochi + want to be within 5-10 min walking distance of most tourist attractions

If I could give more than 5 stars I would give it. The 2 hostel Hosts are amazing, the location is very central and the facilities offer all you need. Some rooms though don’t have an AC if it is important to you then pay attention while booking. We stayed for 5 days and every day we talked to the hosts about all sorts of stuff. All the recommendations and cool stories makes this place extremely memorable and fun to stayed at (one example the best avocado smoothie in town)

Great place to stay! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with everything. Definitely ask their recommendations on places to eat around Kochi! Rooms were simple, neat and spacious, nice launge area and excellent drip coffee!

Very central location!

If you’d like to stay in Fort Kochi, then I recommend this place. The hostel host is very nice and has attention to detail. The laundry was done promptly. The room was clean and the shower was refreshing.

Super nice hostel. Comfortable and clean. A great place to socialise with other travellers (have now continued onwards with a fellow backpacker I met there) and it's located close to where all of the action is. Recommend the Chinese fishing nets, Princess Street and Jew Town for some carefree wandering and sightseeing. Also, really wonderful, friendly and helpful hosts - thank you!
