Schutzenbach Backpackers for Adults 18–34

Die Kommunikation war äußerst unfreundlich und wenig kundenorientiert. Allein aus diesem Grund würde ich von einem Aufenthalt in diesem Hostel abraten, da der Eindruck entsteht, dass man dort kein großes Interesse an Gästen hat.

If there was negative stars, i would have given all to the lady in reception and the hostel, i booked hotel in basel with same card and have been doing everything from same card, i booked them just to get cancelled and never told reason why, people please don't ignore lowest review, they will tell your card doesn't work but you get charged. Horrible customer service. Cancelled out resvervation. Impossible to reach them and when you do they force yoi to upgrade to a different room if you are a couple travelling which is not stated anywhere in their terms. Arrogant and overall not friendly. Would recommend to try the backpackers villa instead for people who know how tp work with customers… and not this

After booking, you will receive a private message from the hotel stating that if you are over 35 years old, you will not be allowed to stay and they will not refund under any circumstances. What is wrong with you, you are asking for passport details so you don't cancel the reservation, but you don't provide an email neither you answer calls? Worst experience ever. I have 1 week trying to reach you by phone and by the mails that are provided on your website and I haven't had any answers. AVOID to stay in the place.

I just wanted to echo the numerous reviews below citing the behaviour of one particular female staff member. I am also a vivid backpacker, and I have yet to come across (until I met her) such an impolite, unwelcoming, and spiteful staff member. This includes both in-person and by phone. adore, it felt so safe even though there were no lockers and no locks really on the doors, it felt like home, beautiful place amazing staff. i will dream about this place until im back☹️☹️

Started here jet lagged, had charging issues with my phone. I’m grateful for the staff going above and beyond to try to help (it got resolved). Will recommend to a friend.

This was an outstanding stay for me! I booked a 4 bed female dorm and ended up having the whole room to myself! The staff was lovely to interact with as well! Overall, 10/10 experience.

This was an excellent hostel experience! We stayed in the mixed dorms, which were extremely clean overall and the layout was also super nice. The beds weren't bunk beds and we made some friends there too! 1 minus star since another guest found a bed bug so be weary of this. The staff said they spray the beds down so maybe this was an isolated issue. The communal bathrooms were very clean and nice too. Enough stalls for probably the whole village :D. Had a pretty good experience as I booked in the slower season, but everyone was super nice and helpful, not to mention the amazing view right outside your window. Definitely shop for food at Coop when you arrive and keep some snacks with you. The showers also take a second to warm once you put the coins in the machine.

Super cool spot to stay overnight, lacking kitchen supplies and the common showers aren’t working properly even after paying (water comes out freezing cold). Also no common area to hangout late. Otherwise it’s a cool spot and easy to meet others and the staff are super friendly!

Great facility at a good price too. staff was awesome and I got great recommendations from them on things to do in the area. The views all around were breathtaking as well. Definitely would return
