Cascais Bay Hostel

There was no duvet cover, and I was lied to, 2 separate times from the owner, saying she’ll get me a duvet cover, and didn’t, lied about working air conditioning, it was 80* Fahrenheit in my room at night, there are no locks on your personal cupboard, people steal them and the owner doesn’t replace them. This hostel was a big disappointment. It was dirty, poorly maintained, and almost nothing seemed to work. The kitchen was a complete mess and smelled bad. The only positive thing is the view from the bar, which overlooks the sea—but even that comes with a downside: from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m., the music is extremely loud, making it impossible to sleep. YOU WILL NOT SLEEP. I was warned. I saw the reviews saying it’s “noisy”. I couldn’t perceive of what noisy meant. I thought it would be the noise from the bars downstairs. They can’t control that right? BUT the hostel itself is a bar that’s open to the public where they play live music well into the night and people stand right outside your door yelling and drinking. I stayed at a weekend and could only sleep from 3 am onwards, due to the noisy environment I found myself in. There is a bar just underneath and this should not be a location for a hostel.

Tuve la peor experiencia. Comparti habitación con un borracho que gritaba, insultaba y termino vomitando. Intentamos comunicarnos con los encargados pero nadie respndio, por lo que me senti muy insegura. Baños sucios, olor muy feo, frio, pero estas cosas fueron detalles despues de esa horrible noche

I have traveled a lot and this one was the worst experience in my life. they open the doors for a public party inside of hostel and everybody can enter to the hostel. the hostel in the center but around of it many parties happen so it is impossible to sleep. soo loud. it is super dirty because everybody comes and use hostel’s toilets. my room was smeeling so bad. I booked for 2 nights but I left after one night.

En arrivant, la réceptionniste nous a fait attendre avant de nous accorder son attention car elle était en conversation avec son amie au téléphone. So incredibly loud - location is very central which is great but at night it feels like your bed is in the middle of a club so even with ear plugs it’s impossible to sleep until the music stops (about 2am on a Wednesday night). Also, the terrace was an attraction for me when I booked but on arrival was full of builders, building equipment and very loud building work.

O espaço é acolhedor, higiénico gostei de lá estar e da próxima vez convidarei minhas Amigas para um passeio, principalmente a localização é top 4 a 5 minutos da direção da AIMA Cascais.

Great location and welcoming vibe. Not all the hostel staff is familiar with English, sometimes can be a barrier. Overall cleaning good, both room and common areas. Great terrace for hanging around and good internet connection. 24h access with the door keys is great. That can vary a lot, but I found nice other guests, some of them staying long term during the winter. Rooms can be a bit noisy cause there is a music bar next door. Showers not always with hot water but manageable. I’d come back!

Todos mto educados e prestativos! Me senti em casa! Sem falar da localização que é excelente para quem quer conhecer a região a pé!

The pictures definitely make it seem much nicer than it is! The 8 bed room is so tiny and bunk bed are really small. The bedroom door had no lock. The closets had no space for bags. Location was great but besides that, wouldn’t stay here again.

Our room was great, centrally located, and clean. Our only complaint is about the bar located in the hostel. It is located very close to the rooms and played extremely loud music until 2am. The front desk provided ear plugs, however, they didn’t help. Something to be aware of before staying here.

Creo que fui generoso con mi review. El hostal tiene todo para ser muy bueno pero tiene MUCHO que desear. La pieza de 6 camas tienen que sacar 2 camas y mejorar los espacios de los locker ya que no entran los equipajes. Mucho olor a humedad. El tema del ruido nada que hacer porque el hostal está al lado de muchos bares.

Personal muy amable y la ubicación es buenísima. Pero la habitación era bastante pequeña (cuesta un poco organizarse con la maleta y demás porque las camas están súper cerca las unas de las otras) y el espacio para dejar cosas de valor necesita algo de cariño/mantenimiento.

Gostei imenso do hostel. Ótima localização, tudo bem limpinho e quero dar 5 estrelas para o staff super atencioso, explicou tudo como funciona, indicou onde eu podia comer uma batatinha voltando do festival s um almoço brasileiro ótimo. Obrigada, vocês fizeram meu final de semana 😉

Me and my two friends enjoyed our stay at bay hostel! We were in a mixed dorm with some people snooring(as usual in hostels), but the hostel offered free earplugs which was nice. Loved the terrace and the kitchen was easy to use, nice staff

Très bon séjour, les espaces communs sont spacieux et équipés, c'est très agréable de s'y poser. Chambres en dortoir de 8 lits, petits mais c'est suffisant lorsqu'on voyage léger. Personnel très aimable et arrangeant. Localisation parfaite ! Point négatif sur le bruit, la musique très forte jusque tard le soir dans la rue et dans l'auberge.

Very friendly owner, easy to contact, place was clean, no issues. Location is quite good in the center of Cascais, but this also came with downsides: VERY noisy in the bars outside until very late (extremely loud music until 2 AM). And this was in the low season, can't imagine what it would be like in high season. Not the fault of the hostel, but for sure something to keep in mind if you consider this place.

A hostel that does the job! Location is right in cascais but as other reviews say that means it is LOUD - even though we stayed in off peak season the bars below were playing music til 3am. So although it was fine with my earplugs don’t book if you’re not able to sleep through some noise! Otherwise a nice stay - rooms were super clean and staff were friendly. Other reviews mentioned security wasn’t great but our room had lockers (you just need a padlock) and our door could be locked.

Superbe auberge. La terrasse et la cuisine sont chouettes. L'emplacement est ideal en terme de commodité. Le personnel est charmant mais ne connait pas la ville et mal l'auberge. Ils essaient de trouver une solution aux problèmes : une coupure de courant assez vite résolue mais surtout un problème autrement plus embêtant : une tenace odeur d'égouts qui n'a pas trouvé solution malgré de copieuses rasades de javel. Les environs sont aussi très bruyants, c'est difficile de bien dormir
