Ceiba Hostel

probably one of the worse hostels I've ever stayed at. First of all we booked a 6bed dorm but got an 8 bed one. I told the guy it's fine as long as we get the difference of the money back. He spoke to his boss and they said it's a hostelworld problem... also there literally two toilets for the whole hostel and they were so dirty. The showers as well. Hair and dirt everywhere. Some toilets were full of sh*t. I felt like I'm getting an infection while using their facilities. Rooms were too tiny.

Arrived to Ceiba after a 32 hour travel day, only for them to tell us they gave our room away. We had this private room booked months in advance. This happened after i was consistently messaging them on WhatsApp for a full day telling them we were going to arrive 1 day late, and them saying “no problem at all, we cant wait to have you”. They then said they had no other private rooms available, but we could stay in a lodge 25 mins away. Horrible attitude from front desk guy. Would not recomme...

I stayed here recently and overall it was okay, but there are several important issues future guests should be aware of. First, the most serious problem: On Hostelworld there are Standard and Superior rooms listed at different prices. In reality, there is absolutely no difference between these rooms. The staff themselves did not know what “Superior” meant, and when they contacted the owner, no explanation was given and no refund was offered. I informed the hostel about this, but the listing...

El Hostal es malísimo, no solo no cierran las puertas de los cuartos, no hay lugar para dejar las cosas, te dicen que pongas todo abajo de la cama, la limpieza es pésima, hay una sola ducha para 3 cuartos de entre 10/6 personas, la ubicación, si bien está “cerca” del centro, está en una calle oscura y como a 6/7 cuadras lo cual es medio inseguro si viajas sol@, no lo recomiendo para nada.

The staff were lovely and super helpful with directions and things to do however I don’t think it was worth the price we paid. we booked a double room, paid around $75 per night. There was no AC which was misleading from the description as apparently only dorms had AC, the room was tucked in the corner of the building and has zero ventilation and only a small fan was provided. There was no way screens on the windows so we couldn’t air out the room. We were extremely disappointed by the place...

We didn’t love this one - felt quite cliquey and was pretty unclean in parts. Staff were lovely though

The staff was friendly and helped us to extend. However the extension didn't include breakfast although we did pay the same price as for the first night with breakfast. Moreover we had a private room with no AC and a fan. The room was located between the door and the side entrance. So we couldn't open the windows during the day for safety reasons. During the night we opened the window and we're woken up by someone sticking their arm through the curtains and demanded to enter through our room.Wt...

Très sympa mais les dortoirs sont petits, on est proches des uns des autres, je trouve aussi que c’était pas toujours super propre. Par les gens et l’ambiance était très cool, très facile de rencontrer des gens !

pas de vrai air climatisé dans les chambres privés. seulement un déshumidificateir et et un ventilateur

It’s a lovely place, really nice communal areas and kitchen with a great view of Arenal. The staff and volunteers were all so lovely too. The only thing is you can’t pay by card, and if you pay by Colons they give you a terrible exchange rate so make sure you have cash USD.

Ceiba Hostel was really cozy!!! However, the dorms were quite small for the things from 8 people. There was only one private bathroom upstairs, for three dorms, a few more showers and toilets downstairs.

I spent three nights at Ceibo and had a wonderful time. This hostel got everything you need and was the perfect starting point for my Costa Rica journey. All the staff was lovely, super helpful and very welcoming (special thanks to Amelia!) - thank you all for this great experience. :-)

I looooved it here! This hostel is very social if you don’t isolate yourself! The main host is super kind, friendly, and helpful. He made it feel like a home away from home. The one guy at the night shift is a bit more reserved and a little off-putting. The rooms are a bit crowded with pretty much only space for the beds, but it didn’t bother me much. What did bother me is having no fan in the rooms! Impossible to hang out in the room during the day since it’s so hot. AC is on only at nigh...

Couldn't recommend this hostel enough!! I was a first time solo traveller here and the environment instantly makes you feel at home!! Super helpful staff, felt very safe, beds were so comfortable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️from meeee

Great hostel and very nice people. I only had a problem with some bugs on my bed maybe due to the ceiling (i had the top bed of the bunk beds). Also for credit card payment they take a commission and you can’t pay contactless so you have to give you all your cards info at the reception (included secret number). I’d suggest to change this method for security reasons.

Had a such a great stay at Ceiba! The staff were so helpful with organising tours and transport. It’s a very friendly hostel and sociable because of how open plan it is. It’s very open to nature which was cool. The beds were comfy and there were lockers. Akane was very welcoming and kind to me when I first arrived.

Great Hostel. Im afraid that I cant remember the name, but the guy at the front desk was incredibly helpful and kind to us. If you are younger and are looking to connect, this is the perfect spot.

A really nice location where everyone is very friendly. Clean beds and facilities with a nice kitchen equipped with everything you need. That staff is super helpful and will help you with everything you need. Amelia was very helpful at the front desk! I recommend the hostel for anyone staying in La Fortuna!
