Chinchilla Hostel

Unfortunately, this place is not at all worth the price - the beds are extremely creaky, very small, & very hard. The worst part is the staff - they are both extremely grumpy and constantly have gos at you. You are told you can use the fridge, then told off for using it. You are told you don't have to lock the door during the day, then told off when you don't. He even had a go at me for using the wrong cup lol. It's an awful atmosphere because of this. Good location though!

Really not great. Beds uncomfortable and soo creaky! One only one shower which is outside and you have to walk through the restaurant to get to it. Only allowed AC during the night and the hostel owner has a very short, rude temper over the smallest of things. Everything is a drive away from the hostel so a moped is definitely required. Wouldn’t recommend, others for the same price which are better.

its okay.. didnt have a curtain because i slept on the top bed, made noise while moving, shower is kinda outdoor, locker is small. but free water, towel, nice staff, its a small business so quite familiar, good area

the owner is very nice and welcoming to guests. the location is about an hour from the pier and another hour to the main party area of the island. it is close to many nice restaurants and the hostel has a social environment where you can meet people. with that being said, facilities are lacking and somewhat bare bones. Aircon is not very efficient and hostel room could use some love. this is a new hostel and will surely improve in the future

Super netter Besitzer mit dem man auch mal n käffchen trinken kann, tolle Lage (keine 5 min zum strand) , und köstliches deutsches essen :) würde es wieder buchen

really good vibes and a absolutely lovely owner. food at the restaurant was amazing and the staff really good. beds couldve been better. overall a very good stay

Great little hostel for the price, it was clean, comfortable and quiet, nothing really to complain about. Its great place if you want to stay somewhere more laidback and quiet. situated in between haad rin and the main town, its a very convenient location to most locations.

Ein tolles Hostel. Super große bequeme Betten. Habe upgrade bekommen fürs große Bett, weil Umbau gerade fertig war. Hostel ist mit Restaurant und dort unbedingt Essen, großartig! Zur Zeit ist dort low season, also super zum relaxen und chillen. Danke Rico und Chinchilla big ❤️

I had a lovely time at Chinchilla hostel! The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Rico let me borrow a bike and practise in the yard when I got here. Note to people travelling to Koh Phangan: you need a bike to get around this island, taxis are expensive. The roads aren’t the best so would be worth doing a lesson / have experience beforehand. The food here was great too! Not a social hostel during quiet season but an ideal place if you are looking for some peace and quiet and a lovely sp...

This was the best hostel experience I’ve had in my two months of traveling through Thailand. The hostel is small, with only one dorm and one private room. Because of its size, the atmosphere is very friendly and cozy. It’s easy to connect with everyone and do things together, creating a very social environment. Rico, the owner, has a lot of great tips, is funny, and always up for a chat. The restaurant he runs in the hostel is also excellent—you should definitely eat there!

Ist ein tolles Hostel, um coole Leute kennenzulernen. Wir haben den Hund Petaa geliebt. Das Hostel hat auf jeden Fall einen besonderen Vibe:)

Great hostel to stay at! The whole place was super clean all the time and the host Rico makes the best schnitzels. Relaxed vibes in the hostel. The 7/11 is 50m from the hostel which makes the location great. Good value of money. Felt very homey

Definitely recommend staying at chinchilla! Amazing atmosphere, super chill and great location! Rico, the host, gave us plenty of good tips for where to party and have a great time on the island. He also lend us a motorbike :) We miss it already! You cannot miss the currywurst with potatoe salad from the restaurant!!

loved it here; def. would recommend - not far from everything but still quiet, beautiful beach within 5 mins. hostel is super small with only a few beds so u really get to know the people there and make friends easily. rico provides u w/ everything & every info u need. only manko, beds were super hard and imo not very stable - but doable. xx
