This place and hostel world sucks. J could have had a way nicer place for my money. Unsocial. Boring and depressing

Didn’t really enjoy staying here. Wouldn’t recommend for solo females didn’t really feel comfortable and the location wasn’t that great. Close to train station tho. Rooms were nice but the pods get so hot at night even when air con is at the lowest. Staff didn’t seem bothered when I checked in, didn’t give a friendly vibe. Wouldn’t stay again.

While the general facilities seemed quite nice, when I checked in there was no one at the desk (self service kiosk). My pod had some dirt in it and some dark hair that wasn’t mine, and the lockers in the room were crawling with ants. The room smelled heavily of cigarettes despite being a smoke-free property. Hostel itself was ok. Mostly clean but we did have ants in the bed when we checked into a private room. The “bar” was only open from Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon and only served beer, so if you were staying during the week and fancied a drink at the hostel, forget about it! Can’t even bring in outside alcohol! Social scene was non existent. Returned to the hostel to be told kitchen was shut. Staff acted as if using the microwave unsupervised at 10pm was catastrophic. Très bon hostel super propre, la cuisine est bien équipée et les espaces communs sont très sympas. Il y a cependant quelques points faibles : le wifi ne fonctionne pas très bien, pas de machine à laver il faut aller à la laverie, et les pods sont bien équipés mais ils deviennent très vite humide et les ventilateurs sont très bruyants.

Rooms are very nice and everything was clean, also liked the common areas. Pods were nice to have some own space, but had very noisy roommates. Didn't like that I was placed as an only woman in a mixed dorm.

Overall, LyLo was very clean and I loved the outdoor spaces. However (and perhaps it was the bad weather), I found the hostel to be not social at all, even when I sought it out. The walkability was also not great, local areas were pretty abandoned during the day. Also checked myself in, and never saw a single employee my whole time (which was tough when I had an issue with my key). It was great for what I needed (a quick 1-night stay), but I wouldn’t recommend for a fun or social experience.

I enjoyed my stay here but it felt very quiet! Not a huge atmosphere and my room was full of a lot older men that weren’t at all other backpackers! The room was nice and bathroom lovely but the pods get very very hot at night! They also had an event on the Saturday night meaning you couldn’t use any of the social area that night which felt a bit weird on a Saturday!

Really good rooms. Lots of long term residents, wouldnt recommend to solo travellers. Very easy to get the the city center.

Loved the Hostel. The pods are really nice and private and the kitchen and Community area are perfect to meet people.

Clean and comfortable rooms, staff were excellent . Only down side is the hostel wasnt sociable and the location a bit random. The lift was broken so meant climbing 4 levels to the kitchen. A free drink would have been appreciated

As an older traveller who favours hostel over AirBnB because the experience is so much richer, this spot ticks the boxes. Highly recommended. Vibey rooftop chill zone, kick ass kitchen GREAT staff.

The pods are very comfy, but keep in mind if you're very tall they might not be for you. I'm 1.80 and my toes were always touching the wood. The location is quite far from everything but public transport is only 50 cents so no issue. Very clean everywhere and wonderful staff.

Nice hostel not the most social but the facilities sre good, beds are incredible and the pods are so nice for a good nights sleep. I would stay here again

I loved this hostel. The beds were super comfortable, everything was clean, you could lock your locker with your key card which provided a nice feeling of security, and everything was clean. Kitchen area was stunning. My only critique is, that i found the bed and the shower were a bit too short for tall people. I actually had to bend my knees to fit under the shower head…

LyLo Brisbane is in a perfect location. Very close to the train station with lots of places to eat. Near the train station which you can take from the Airport and maneuver around the city. Lots of shops and bars to check out. Safe storage if you arrive early. Elevator works perfect to get to your rooms The Pod I slept in was comfortable with a phone charger .

I liked the hostal. Only thing I didn't fancy was the bathroom inside each shared room. Could get a bit noisy during the morning or late at night.

I really liked the vibe of this hostel and the privacy of the pods. Nice common area on the roof top, thanks for the great stay!

A very nice, modern hostel with nice private bed pods with a bathroom in the dorm. Makes a nice change from walking along the corridor for a shower. My only criticism is that the internet was very poor in the dorm.

First, as a solo female traveller, I’m sad to say I did NOT feel safe when leaving the hostel and walking to the city areas. The surrounding streets are unnerving at night and bus times nearby are infrequent. PLEASE take this into consideration if you are a solo female also booking a stay here. However, the hostel building itself is clean, functional, and trendy. The bedroom pods are private but quite hot unless you leave the door cracked open, which somewhat defeats the purpose of the door.

I temporarily exited reality. The beds erase regret. Time bends. I slept so deeply I believe a former version of myself still lives there. The bathrooms are cleaner than my ethics. I met people who felt less like humans and more like concepts. I checked out enlightened, confused, and emotionally attached to a pillow.

Genuinely my favourite hostel. I stayed here last year when travelling and purposefully booked it this time round even though I didn’t have anywhere else I wanted to explore in Brisbane 😂 I wish there were more of these hostels across Australia !

best hostel i’ve ever been to

I was welcomed very warmly by the very friendly staff The dorm room and pad was great - plenty of room, equipped with all necessary things such as shower gel and hair dryer, they even provided a towel! It was very clean, and comfortable. My roommates were not very social as pad doors were always closed, but I did not mind and could still enjoy Brisbane to its best! Definitely recommend staying there.

Such a lovely hostel! Super chill and spacious and great facilities such as towel provided and hairdryer, body wash ect in the hostel rooms. Probably one of my favourite so far around this price point.
