+ The staff are friendly and helpful. For the size of the property & the amount of guests the hostel was severely understaffed.

- The property is a lovely old building, that is in disrepair & needs renovating. The shovers in the communal bath rooms were missing shower screens or the glass was cracked all the way across. The water pressure ment it was either a boiling hot or freezing cold shower. After a rainy night the roof had leaked and there was wet plaster on the floor. The noise was terrible, in the ground floor of the hostel and on the front steps a party raged well into the night. This is a residential area, I am surprised the people that live either side of the hostel have not made noise complaints.

- It was literally raining inside the room Dormitories were so so so loud, impossible to sleep even at the third floor where I had my double room. Cherry on the top all the water coming from the roof.

+ Staff member was nice. Location splendid.

- Open substance use. Bathroom flooded when it rained which wasn’t safe. I was there less than an hour before I walked upstairs to my room when there was substance use happening on the premisis so I asked to check out and get a refund and left. Still have not been contacted about refund even though I called again the next day

- I was asked to leave because I didn't have a passport only way I could stay was if I got a private room for $130 per night My valid photo ID didn't allow me to be in a shared dorm after I had already stayed for 2 nights so I was in the street in the rain trying to find another place I was in a 3 bed dorm even offered to pay for 2 of the beds so I wasn't in the street and was told no I can only continue to stay if I payed for a private room was absolutely discrasfull getting told to leave because I couldn't afford a private room dumped on the street in the cold and rain. I no other Australians staying their in shared acc without a passport. I do have valid photo ID but was told that only covers 1 night in shared dorm after that only covers me in a private room. Really bad business.

+ Fucking had a bunch of sick people in my room and ended up in hospital after I got to Brisbane and it's like fair enough the business can't help that I guess but having randoms rock up and do drugs or huff paint and shit in the smoking area is fucked specially coming out seeing it and being like don't scare the new guests but not saying stop or nothing but yeah if you wanna wake up constantly to some rude asf English chick go here

- Hi good afternoon . We are really disappointed with your services because on your website you showed us different items and we got different when reached there . The room was stinky and even the bedsheets are smelling . We just entered and moved out from the apartment. Our $165 got worthless as we left asap as we did not feel comfortable and secured there .There was so much mess is the property..everyone is drinking and smoking. We are really disappointed especially from your response. Will never book from your site again Hope you understand Don’t give false hopes to the customer and don’t ruin their day Thank you

+ I’ve really enjoyed my time at the Nunnery it’s a very social hostel with great facilities in an incredible location. Very clean and the staff at front desk really friendly and helpful, Lexie especially.

- Kitchen closes at 10 which is pretty standard but still sad.

- Kitchen closed at 10pm.needed to microwave my curry.but there was a staff refrigerator near by keep it in

+ Clean basic accommodation. Comfy bed, great location, next to tram stop. Across the road from the museum. Close to St Vincent’s hospital. Friendly helpful staff Thank you

+ Good location. Great older building.

- Poorly managed in terms of communal areas, and noise at night time. Kitchen areas are way too small for the number of guests. There are often dishes left in sinks, and very little regard for sleeping people at night time.

+ Very clean and cozy, loved the decor, and the staff were superb friendly. Will definitely stay next time I'm in Melbourne:)
