Mad Monkey Kuta Lombok

We stayed 7 days. The room had sliding doors, which made the aircon ineffective, so everything felt damp. I slept in the top bunk and woke up one day to small ant-like insects all over my bed and belongings. Staff were helpful, but I now have to wash everything, still feel like they’re everywhere. Great location. The staff working around the hostel were all lovely. The hostel itself really needs some TLC. Our room had mould in it, was damp, the door barely shut and the AC barely worked. Small windows at the top of the room made sure light came in always. The worst thing above all was the fact that there is ongoing construction works at the hostel which was not signposted in the advertisement. Expect to be woken up between 08:30-9am after a night out with this ‘party hostel’.

Fijne locatie, voelde me alleen niet veilig/ op mijn gemak, nadat ik meerdere malen ben benaderd door een man die daar veel rond hangt waarover ik heftige verhalen heb gehoord. De werknemers waren op de hoogte en hebben hem niet weg gestuurd. Hij is hier dagelijks en heeft invloed op de sfeer!

Lief alles super bis zum letzten Tag. Dann ist bei meinem Roller die Handyhalterung abgebrochen (wegen marodem Plastik). Kein Verständnis, sodass ich für etwas zahlen musste, was ich nicht zu verschulden hatte, sondern einfach Qualitätsmängel an der Ausstattung waren. Absolute Frechheit. Mad Monkey hat sich leider damit für mich erledigt.

Wasn’t a great hostel, my first night I had bed bugs in my bed & wasn’t offered anything for my laundry to be done, I was moved beds but the bed wasn’t properly cleaned after me. I had to tell other people who checked in to not sleep in that bed. The showers didn’t work properly either, they dribbled out.

Wouldn’t stay here again. One of the male staff entered our all-female dorm at night while others were asleep, claiming to be “housekeeping”, but he had no cleaning supplies and no clear reason to be there. It felt very suspicious and uncomfortable. On top of that, water was leaking onto our lockers, leaving my bags wet, and the bathroom had noticeable mold. The overall vibe was odd — loud music played late into the night, but there wasn’t much of a social scene or party atmosphere to ...

There was black mold on the walls and in the duvets curtains were missing and the room was very messy

I stayed at Mad Monkey Hostel and booked the Rinjani tour through them, paying 3 million IDR. However, when I arrived at the tour operator's office, I met other travelers who had paid only 2.1 million IDR for the exact same tour. I felt ripped off, realizing I had paid an extra 900,000 IDR just because I booked through Mad Monkey Hostel. This is a clear case of overcharging and scamming. Do not book tours through Mad Monkey

The hostel was honestly the dirtiest hostel I have ever stayed in. Mould in all the bathrooms and some of the rooms, ants in the beds, woke up with bites all over me on my last day. On night 1, someone else was allocated my bed and I had to room move at 11pm, the hostel is so run down, the doors to the hostel rooms aren’t locked. The upper beds don’t have currents (‘being shipped still’), my bed lamp was broken, the wifi didn’t work in all the rooms and even the lockers had mold! AVOID...

De general-manager is erg hulpbehoevend en bekwaam. Voor de rest een vervallen bedoeling; douche werkt niet, geen gordijnen en het zwembad is kapot.

Mad money here is an amazing place. When I was here it was almost fully booked and so had a really lovely energy. The staff especially are always happy and ready to help you with anything you need, booking taxi’s, boat trips and help when you in a tight spot. Baby, a rep for mad monkey, is one of my favourite people there. Always up for a party and a sing.

good atmosphere and really enjoy for stay, had a great experience with their event and nice staff, the room are clean and really nice, have a good day with Alwi always make me happy!!

I love this hostel the waterfall was so good and also surfing in Kuta was so amazing,all the staff was so fun specially iky and alwi,if you guys wana see chicken fight go with iky ma boy

Had a good time here, ended up extending a couple of nights. A few events on in the evenings including music bingo, pub quiz and a free welcome drink is always nice in the evening. Staff were really friendly, big up Alwi, top guy
