Folk Hostel

I found a living bedbug on the wall at 10pm and all other dorms were fully booked. I left for an airbnb, but folk hostel refused to refund me for the 1 night 🥺 First night was very noisy

The staff, mostly very young by my encounters, were a bit jaded, perhaps bored. This made it harder to get good information re. Local resources. On a positive note, the coffee at breakfast was the best I’ve had at an Argentine hostel in 5 weeks! Dorms were also nice, quiet and secure.

Very basic place with an average breakfast at best. Fine for a night, but wouldn't be spending much time there, you should look for an alternative.

I booked shuttle pick up from reception , more expensive than uber (I was told after by other people ) this is ok hostel also need to earn money , the only thing I very much unsatisfy was I was asked to give my credit card for the payment , the girl staff saw the card PIN number I was so surprised soon after I realized it was super privacy thing . And I was told she will not keep my card information but who knows !?

There were a problem with the water in town so no water for 20 hours or so. The people working at the hostel just shrugged their shoulders and said 'sorry'. No attempts at doing something. No functioning toilets for like 50 or so people makes the place gross pretty fast. In the morning there was literally s*** in all the toilets even though they didn't work. The hostel never offered or put out bottled water, neither did they put out hand sanitizer or offer any solution. Really bad handled.

The staff were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was really well equipped. Location was good, near the bus station and about a 10 mins walk into town. Only thing was the beds were extremely hard and so uncomfortable. This was a shame as everything else was great.

Does the job. Very well located is you would like to go to the glacier. Very simple hostel with one of the best breakfasts I’ve had since travelling! Only downside was a group of boys who were blackout drunk every night and started fighting in my room at 2am. Not the hostels fault and pretty sure they were kicked out.

El recepcionista estaba lo mejor del hostel, todo está limpio, es sencillo y la ubicación está bien. Lo único negativo es que las camas de arriba no tienen una barra y te puedes caer.

Exactly what we wanted in a hostel, excellent location, great breakfast (best we’ve had for free travelling), good facilities in the room, comfy bed, extremely kind and helpful staff. Common areas are also always nice and relaxed, not a party party hostel.

Kitchen was amazing, that was the main highlight for me. Rooms were ok and always clean. Not much atmosphere though but I went in the low season but I think it is good in high season.

Amazing hostel to base for a glacier trip 10 min walk from town centre and super close to bus terminal (5 mins). Everything was great here altho the 4 bed dorm i was in was slightly on the small side. Only marked down on atmosphere because tour groups came through both nights i was there and overtook the kitchen (using all the dishes and leaving for others to clean) and common areas.

great hostel, really near to the bus terminal and not too far off main street either. they do a great breakfast in the morning, friendly staff and great atmosphere. hot water yed, although showers are quite communal. we had a private room which worked out cheaper than a dorm. would deffo reccommend if you're looking for somewhere clean and convenient in el calafate ;)

Insane value for Patagonia standards. Vibe was ok but breakfast and amentaties were all around solid. Especially for the price.

Ótimo hostel. Equipe educada e prestativa; sempre em contato com os hóspedes. Hall e cozinha bem amplos, organizados e completos. Café da manhã razoável; não conseguem atender muita gente ao mesmo tempo, mas é bom. O quarto é muito bom. O único problema é o barulho. Quando hóspedes dos quartos vizinhos chegam ou saem (o que ocorreu com frequência nas madrugadas), o barulho acaba te acordando. Hostel próximo à rodoviária e ao centro. Perto de mercado e farmácia.

This hostel has a great location if you're bussing into El Calafate. It's close to restaurants, a laundromat,and convience stores. The hostel was very clean and the staff were kind.

Nice to be close to the bus station, not nice to be a bit far from the rest. Very nice and available staff, Well-equipped and spacious kitchen allowing many people to cook simultaneously. Very clean, enough space on tables for people to stay together, large living room with some chill corners. A lot of space in the bathrooms/showers also.

Really lovely common areas, great kitchen & free breakfast is lovely! Bit more out of town but still walkable and close to bus station Was great for one night

Felt like a big hostel. Had about a million toilets. Breakfast was nice but get there well before 9:30 as they had run out of eggs :(. Near bus station which is useful - short walk into town. Good for a night or two not much going on but nice.

We had a great time staying at folk hostel. The staff are lovely, the place itself is so cute, and it is a nice small walk from the Main Street

Tiene muy ubicación a pocas cuadras de la terminal de ómnibus y del centro comercial. Limpio y agradable, dispone de todo lo necesario para una estadía confortable.

Es un hostal con una excelente ubicación para quienes tienen salidas temprano en la terminal de autobuses, es un hostal limpio

Really good hostel for the price. Close to the bus station. The kitchen was big and well equipped. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. Good free breakfast which I wasn’t expecting. Would recommend.
