The hostel is so far out of the town that you have to pay to get a tuktuk for everywhere you go. The food takes ages even if it’s the most basic dish (fruit bowl took an hour). You have to walk through the beach and the tide can be in which makes it awkward. You have to walk through the bar everytime you want to go upstairs to your room. The staff sing out of tune kareoke the whole day and it’s painful. You have to line up to take a shower and use toilets each evening and night as they’re ...
The hostel rooms are nice and surprisingly quiet & with airconditioning, good breakfast but order got lost every time. The music in the common areas so loud you cannot talk to anyone. But worst, the staff is utterly useless, they gave me wrong info about everything, claimed higher prices than you’d get elsewhere and had no idea about transportation. They also only offer their own tours and if you want to do a different tour they will book you into another agency which was the worst possible...
My room flooded while I was there and I had to sleep on the floor in the common room. Lost some things in the flood and other things blew away in the storm that night. Common room is a bit exposed to the elements. Left the next day. Easier to just stay in town
I don’t think it’s value for money No proper entrance other than beach Have to climb 2 stares worth every time AC IS ON FOR LIMITED TIME
Don’t stay here they have red ants in the beds and they bite and when we told them they wouldn’t do anything to fix the pest issue. We ended up moving to a hotel. And the hostel wouldn’t give us our money back. I do not recommend this hostel at all.
Hate any accommodation that tries to hold you captive and that's what Outpost does. They want you to spend every minute and every peso at their bar. They do this by disabling your room air conditioning in the day time. Their location is far away, and they spread nonsense propaganda that El Nido town "is chaos".
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ BE CAUTIOUS WHEN BOOKING TOURS I tried to settle this with the hostel, however they are now ignoring my emails. Please be VERY cautious booking this hostel as well as their tours. Multiple travellers contracted horrific food poisoning off of their tour A tour, this then affected the castaway trip which they said was being investigated to look into refunds/ compensation however they are now ignoring emails. We were all horrifically sick and this affected us for two weeks...
Me and a lot of people I know got sick (probs the food or water) at this place.. The staff is nice but you can tell it’s in a very perfomative way, which is a shame because it prevents real connection from being able to form.. Also the AC is only on from 7pm-11am so it’s boiling hot in the rooms during the day. They sadly ran out of water completely at some point and didn’t refill it while they were serving alcohol. My pillow smelled rancid and there were stains on the curtains. Def overpr...
DONT BOOK HERE! What a terrible experience. We almost didn’t slept because of the AC. They have the remote and the normal temperature is 24 degrees. If they set a colder temperature like 22 degrees the AC falls in malfunction…. I complain 5 times and the security guy just says that this is normal. What a complete joke. Also very bad wifi You have to deposit 1000peso each Card payment they charge 4% Cold shower No tap water Small beds They are only here because they want you...
Was not that nice the first night I had bedbugs in my night and my second did I have to move and was without a room from 11 until 15

Seul point négatif c’est qu’il faut prendre un tuktuk pour ce rendre en ville! Sinon hostel parfait pour les jeunes!
So sad to leave. The entire staff is amazing. They have daily events at night and they organize their own tours, which is a good way to make friends. It’s a bit outside El Nido town, but still a lot of guests come here for the social atmosphere. Also, would give a perfect score if there’s free water refills. Would definitely be back to do the Castaway Expedition with them!
Fijne plek om net buiten het drukke centrum van El Nido te verblijven. Het uitzicht is prachtig aan de zee, goeie sfeer en heel behulpzaam personeel.
Great social hostel with amazing sunset views and daily events that make it easy to meet people. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious, and the restaurant food was great. Big shoutout to EJ, Jasmine, Maya, Edna & Kim for being so fun and welcoming. As one of the pricier hostels in El Nido, it would be nice to have free water or cheaper bottled water, as 80PHP for 1L is expensive. Shower gel and shampoo in the showers would also be a nice touch. Overall, I had a great time here!
The pool was amazing and everyone was so friendly!
Debated so long before booking this and it turned out to be the best decision of the trip. The people here, staff, bar crew, tour guides, all of them were so fun and welcoming. Made real friends, did incredible tours, and came back with the best photos. Trivia Night was a highlight and I even won a free island tour in the lucky draw! Shoutout to Hose, Jerry, Snow, Maya and the whole team. Just book it, you won’t regret it.
amazing staff, location could be better, staff were amazing, love the old post wave drink
Stayed here because I enjoyed the Outpost in Coron and did the expedition with Castaways. I really didn’t love how far it was from everything or that you couldn’t even enter during high tide — and the back entrance is an absolute mess. My room smelled disgusting and I had to move beds because the sockets didn’t work. No fault to the staff, they were incredible and very kind, I just think this hostel has a lot of room for improvements for $25/night.
Love this hostel!! I stayed in outpost in coron and el nido and would highly recommend. The staff are the loveliest hostel staff I’ve ever met, they all remembered my name and made me feel so at home. The social events are amazing, the rooms are so clean and cosy. The bathrooms are kept clean to a great standard. Love it!!
Mayang , EJ , Snow , Jyrie and other staff are, quite frankly, the best people I’ve ever met in my life ❤️
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms super clean and spacious although the door didn’t lock but it seemed to be ok. Location is a little out of town but it’s just a short ride on a tricycle. I did the castaway tour with the hostel and it was great as pick up was from the hostel. The hostel is also very social with activities on daily.
No shampo or soap is sad when it is one of the more expensive one, and the location is not very central
I had an amazing time staying 6 nights at the outpost in el nido. The staff were amazing; Edna, Jasmine, Jose, Cassandra, and the amazing Kim. The distance to the town wasn’t an issue either since there were always tuk tuks upstairs waiting. Can’t wait to come back when I do the expedition from Coron to El Nido
I really loved my stay at Outpost. I was on a solo trip and even before I checked in, the staff already made me feel so welcome. I almost canceled my reservation because I was a bit scared of how social it would be, and I also thought this hostel would be more for really young people haha but I ended up meeting a lot of people in their late 20s too. I even ended up extending my stay because I was enjoying it so much. The activities they organize are really fun, and even if you don’t push your...
The hostel is lovely and social but please be careful of any non-bottled water and ice! Multiple of us got really sick with water contamination. The manager was really great and arranged for travel to the clinic and put some signs up but please be aware, especially in the dry months where there is more bacteria in the water.
Really nice looking hostel with a social atmosphere! But please be careful of the refillable water the hostel provides and when on the boat trips (we did tour A) as in the 5 days that I stayed here multiple people got unwell and hospitalised due to it being unsafe and dirty.
Great hostel with one of the best sunset views—and free shots! Staff are friendly, food is good, and check-in is smooth. Beds are well-equipped (light bedding, outlet, lamp, towel), and bathrooms are plentiful and clean. It’s very social, with a nightly 11PM town trip. Downsides: lots of stairs (tough with big luggage), no place to hang wet clothes, rooms are spacious but lighting is dim, and it’s a bit far from town so you’ll need paid transport. Overall, a solid stay.
A little overpriced, but overall a really fun hostel. The social scene and sunsets are definitely the highlight and a big part of why you stay here. They also run games and activities every night, which makes it very easy to meet people and get involved. I also really enjoyed the tours they offer. They were well organized and added a lot to the experience. My main complaint is the showers. Compared to the Outpost Hostel in Coron, the facilities here are noticeably worse. Some showers barely have...
Top et super couché de soleil
Stayed here the night before the expedition. Hostel looks out onto the beach which is beautiful. For the price the bed linens felt quite cheap would’ve liked something better quality and my charger wouldn’t stay in the wall so I couldn’t charge any of my devices. Also would have like someone to help carry my bag along the beach to the hostel. The tide was in and was almost impossible to carry it in
