Barco Verde Hostel

Insufficient quality for the price it costs. Uncomfortable shaky beds, badly self-made electric sockets that don’t work properly, no lamp next to the bed, no space to store personal stuff. Everything looks like cheaply and quickly made, without any effort to look nice and be comfortable. I would not complain about the quality if it would be at least ultra cheap, but it is expensive for what it is.

The aircon didn’t work, everyone was up the whole night because it was boiling hot in the room. As I went to the staff in the morning the guy lied to us by saying they hab problems with the electricity which was bullshit as I charged my phone the whole night and turned on the light. The matresses were awful. I had a serious back pain in the morning. No one was willing to help us or make our stay comfier.

Be carefull,there are bedbugs in this hostel! We saw a bedbug climbing on the mattress! We checked all the beds in the room and we didn’t find anything but we spoke to the staff. They offered us to switch room but in the second room, we also found bedbugs 😱 They switched us to a third room. But I saw a flea on one of the bed! Jane handled very well the situation and offered a refund. It's a pity because the hostel is well located! For private rooms, I think you can have a better value in...

Nice place to go relax, bed really comfortable! Not a place to party, I went to another hostel to meet people. Staff is sweet, but the kitchen and the flies are terrible. I liked my stay at this hostel.

Overall, it’s just OK. The volunteers are quite exclusionary and this naturally is a buzzkill for the socialisation. There’s only one small social area so I’m surprised it was so hard to make friends. The kitchen is not cleanly, but I’ve seen worse. The showers in the dorms worked well. The bed was nice and the AC was a welcome reprieve at night in the head. I can’t complain too much but I wouldn’t stay again - mainly as it was hard to socialise with no activities organised.

Fare number of inconsiderate travellers in the dorms, unfortunately noisy.

Hostel sympa. Parfait pour sociabiliser. Les chambres et les salles d’eaux sont propres. Par contre alerte à la cuisine d’extérieur. La cuisine etait REMPLIE de mouches. Les poubelles de la cuisine sont en plein soleil et sans couvercle. Impossible de cuisiner ou de manger sans que 10 mouches viennent sur votre nourriture. J’avoue que ça m’a deg

L’hostel est très bien placé et le dortoir était super bien ! Cependant, je dois dire que la cuisine était très sale, les équipements de cuisines sont très vieux…

Locatie was fijn en gratis ontbijt was prima, maar AC ging alleen ‘s nachts aan en die werkte niet goed, dus overdag kon je niet op de kamer zijn en ‘s nachts ook nog steeds erg warm. Ik was er in laagseizoen dus misschien daardoor geen geweldige sfeer en er werden helemaal geen activiteiten georganiseerd door het hostel, dus ik heb er geen geweldige tijd gehad.

Overall a really good hostel, nice facilities and amazing staff and volunteers. Relaxing and quiet atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic vibes, lovely people there, great location, a superb place to be and hang out, comfy beds and good breakfast as well, top choice in Holbox!

Barco Verde was the perfect stay for me! Always people around in the central area with hammocks and kitchen, the volunteers were always nice and the other people just catched the nice and relaxed vibe of the whole Hostel. Was very easy to meet new people there!

I loved my stay at Barco Verde! It felt so good to be there from the first moment I arrived :) Fede and his team are great and the hostel was one big community ☺️

Super friendly staff and nice chill common area not super super clean but I didn’t have an issue with that. I think it’s due to it being a bit older.

Super hostel très bien placé, bien décoré, pas très grand ce qui permet de se sentir dans une ambiance familial.

Schönes Hostel mit einem gemütlichen Innenhof. Als die Klimaanlage im unserem Zimmer kaputt ging, durften wir das Zimmer wechseln und uns wurde ein weiterer Ventilator zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Frühstück war klein, aber liebevoll. Sauberkeit in den Duschen und Toiletten war im Ordnung, aber der Kühlschrank der Gäste war sehr fies und dreckig. Außerdem gab es viel zu wenig Besteck. Liebevolles Personal, spricht leider teilweise ausschließlich spanisch.

Merci à tous le personnel super sympa tres bonne ambiance avec respect des heures de silence pour se reposer et profiter des belles journées sur cette île magnifique. merci à Karl pour tous ces conseils et son inclusion au sein d'une equipe tres pro et des autres voyageurs.

Was amazing! Only downside was the Wifi that was not that good in the rooms. Otherwise great location, breakfast included, theres water provided, social but not a party hostel. The staff was the best thing about this hostel! If you talk to the people you will soon be part of a new small hostel family. Special thanks to Fede aka Carlos 🫶🏼

Muy lindo hostal, cerca del mar y tranquillo, linda gente

I was here for one night. Hostel was fine as cheap accommodation. Central location (flip side is not the most peaceful). Facilities quite basic but beds surprisingly comfortable and appreciated inclusion of good breakfast. As my stay was brief, I didn’t get to know guests/staff or take part in activities - but found front desk staff friendly.

I wanted to stay 3 nights but stayed for a week. Loved everything about it. We had a nice christmas eve together and it really felt like family. I really recommend this place. Thanks for having me

Loved my stay at Barco Verde! Perfect location in town and right next to the beach, lovely staff and volunteers, and overall good vibes! The 6 ned female dorm was everything you can ask for in a basic hostel like this: comfy bed with a curtain, clean, and has all the necessities. Would come back and recommend!!
