Iguana Hostel Puno

Paid alot for a private room and it was the poorest quality of any private room I have stayed in! And then I woke up covered in bites...bed bugs...it was really awful! Location is close to main square, breakfast is just ok.....only redeaming feature was the staff were nice.

Wir hatten ein Privatzimmer mit eigenem Bad. Der Abfluss hat einfach nur ekelhaft gestunken. WLAN hat in unserem Zimmer gar nicht funktioniert, wir mussten immer in die Gemeinschaftsarea. Küche ist schlecht ausgestattet. Frühstück ist in Ordnung. Insgesamt auch einfach keine gemütliche Atmosphäre.

Bien pour une ou deux nuits de transit, sans plus. Néanmoins personnel très gentil.

My partner and I didn't enjoy our time here - we had issues from check in where they did not have our room ready, and while we enjoyed the tour we did with them, the man at the desk changed the price of the tour upon our check out. He told us a full day tour was 110 soles and then changed to 170 at check out, which meant we didn't have enough cash and had to use some USD as was at the end of our Peru trip. The room also had no air/ventilation and poor wifi.

Badkamer vol met schimmel en totaal niet schoongemaakt. Personeel was best behulpzaam maar verder echt geen sfeer in het hostel. Zou niet aanraden om in dit hostel te verblijven.

This place is fine for a night or two. The beds were comfy and there were blankets! The breakfast is laid out at the start time and then you get what you get after. The property was always locked which was a benefit. There was luggage storage too and free hot water.

Leider war die Atmosphäre nicht so toll - keine Fenster und ein unangenehmer Geruch, der mit Raucherstäbchen überdeckt wird. Für eine Nacht in Ordnung.

It was an ambivalent stay at the hostel. At first I arrived late in the evening and couldn’t find the hostel. It should be located in number 222, but 222 was closed down. By chance did I see that another hostel was located in number 220 and ring the bell. The staff told me I had found the right hostel. So be aware more hostels by different names are located at number 220. Staff was really helpful with both calling a taxi, early breakfast etc. The room was okay but nothing else.

Bon accueil mais traces sur le sol du dortoir, et fuites du lavabo dans la salle de bain

Really nice and helpfull staff. Breakfast was really good and the common area was nice and large. Didn’t feel super clean. The one end of my bed smelled like feet and the showers were not great. Only small lockers

Très bon hôtel, on a juste eu un petit peu froid la nuit mais je recommande le personnel est sympathique et les chambres très bien

Good location and great breakfast for the price! The room was clean and comfortable, but there isn't a sound barrier between the bathroom and the bedroom so if one person is showering while others are sleeping it might wake you up. Of you're a heavy sleeper, you should be alright.

Was just here for a night. Staff was super helpful and kind. Lockers were so small though so bags were just out in the open. Good for my sleep there though

Très bel établissement, ambiance conviviale, tranquille et chaleureuse. Les lits sont super et la cuisine bien équipée!

we stayed for 2 nights, booked a half day tour through them for a boat tour, which was organised very good. Breakfast was similar to other places, but they had fresh fruit and freshly made pancakes. you could get hot tea throughout the day. the hostel was only 5 minutes away from the main plaza, but it was still very quiet. We had a private room with our own shower, which was great. the only little confusing thing for us was, that the address says house 222 but you can only get in at 220.

Iguana Hostel, which runs also under the name Kantaya Hostel is a nice place to stay for a few days. The owners and staff are really helpful and friendly and they prepare an excellent breakfast. The rooms were clean and there are many social activities, you can also go kayaking on the lake. The mattress was to hard for me though to sleep comfortably.

Nice hostel, nice room, good buffet breakfast. Staff was amazing! They are very helpful in booking trips and helping out in every way. Very nice hostel with several areas to hangout and chill. A very good base for exploring Puno and going on trips. The Kayaking Trip was very good opción in Puno they offer in reception, easy fun exciting (Tour: DayTour with Kayak). its wort it

We stayed here as a ‘stopover’ for visiting Lake Titikaka and it was perfect for what we needed. The room was comfy and clean, showers were hot, the free breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s well located to bars and restaurants as well, is a bit of a walk away from the bus station/lake itself but only a short cab ride away from these!

Nice hostel in Puno, very friendly staff who were happy to accommodate me when I needed to extend my stay a couple of times. Location is good, all 3 hostels listed here are the same. Included breakfast was nice, kitchen was well equipped and private room was clean and comfy.

The plan flute music playing all the time was fabulous. Loved it. Would recommend.

Really loved this hostel! A lovely atmosphere (the staff were so welcoming) and the breakfast was awesome (pancakes!!). The beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and the kitchen looked functional although we didn’t get a chance to use it. Overall, we would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Puno!

Pretty decent hostel considering the price. Basic but nice hostel environment. Breakfast is pretty plain but again good for what you pay. Pretty good for a night or two.
