Wombat's City Hostel Budapest

El hotel está súper bien ubicado. Cerca a todo lo de interés. Queda a pocas cuadras del ruin bar más famoso, lo cual está muy bien para volver luego de la fiesta al hotel con facilidad. El espacio común es muy amplio y bien iluminado, es muy agradable. El desayuno está muy bien y completo. El personal amabilidad justa, podría sonreír más. Las habitaciones muy bien, limpias, cada cama con su espacio para guardar cosas y mesita propia, así como luz y cortina para comodidad y privacida...

Le personnel prend fréquemment des pauses de 5 minutes annoncées (matin, midi et soir), me laissant attendre bien plus longtemps (plus de 15 minutes), sans sourire ni attention pour les clients. Par exemple, un matin, le barman mangeait son sandwich sans me regarder ni me parler, me forçant à attendre 5 minutes avant de partir ; il a ensuite posé une pancarte “Break, revenez dans 5 min”. L’attitude générale est froide, impolie, voire étrange. Niveau propreté, les toilettes commun...

Very big hostel with nice rooms and staff. One toilet between 6 girls wasn't ideal. The safes and lockers were handy and my bed was comfy. I was on a top bunk which are not easy to get in to do recommend asking for a bottom one. Breakfast is ok but nothing exciting. I think because it is so big it's a bit harder to socialise/enjoy the atmosphere. Maybe a little bit overpriced for what you get. Handy location though a good base to explore the city in comfort :)

Excellent location and very helpful staff. In my room the A/C never worked, room was hot. Anything else was good.

Great location, nice atmosphere to connect with people other than exploring Budapest that offers so much to experience..

If you are a solo traveler, I would not recommend staying at Wombat’s. There were no hostel events, making it very difficult to meet new people-clearly geared for groups. There is also a complete lack of security anywhere. With the constant crowding at the hostel entrance, it made me feel uncomfortable as a female solo traveler that the front was not secure as well as the elevator to room levels. I will say that the rooms and other facilities were very clean, which is its only saving grace.

It was good but coming from Vienna’s Wombat hostel. It was a downgrade. Rooms weren’t as good as Vienna’s. But Budapest’s location was soo good right in the corner of a good street which is 15 mins away from the city center. Worst thing was the luggage locker that charged €3 for 2 hours.

The wombat in Munich Germany is definitely they're best that I've stayed with. This one is great as well but also so large that I think its hard for them to create an atmosphere different from a hotel. Very good beds and facilities. Showers could be renovated and AC is not very strong.

+ Location is unbeatable, one bus direct from Airport. 400m walking distance with Metro, bus and tram. + The place is huge, and Kitchen is available for 24/7, which is great. + States of the Art facilities. Locker with Key card, security box in your own bed, light and charging. + Bed is comfortable, shower is great! - There seems to be quite a bit of Security Issues there. Upon arrival, another traveller informed me about their roommate money got stolen. (apparently from the cleaning stuffs....

Great location, very friendly & helpful staff.

The hostel staff was very unfriendly and not providing good customer service, they wanted to do the bare minimum. They do not even put in effort to make sure customers get the information they need or have a good time. My room was clean but the bathroom was lacking items. We did not have soap next to the sink for all three days and had to rely on our own body wash. The shower head stand was also broken and was leaking from one end.

Clean hostel with good location. But hostel is filled with group bookings which makes it impossible to meet other solo travelers . No social elements even though the potential is huge. All they need is one volunteer to bring everyone together in the evenings for games nights or any activity. It’s just groups and you feel like staying in hotel

As an Aussie, coming back to Budapest is by no means a given - but if I do, I will 100% be staying at Wombats. I am telling all my friends. I am telling my Hungarian friends to tell their non-Hungarian friends to stay here. The area is great - bars, clubs, restaurants, bakeries, a market on some days, "convenience stores", 5 minutes walk from the airport bus. It really feels like someone sat down and said - OK what does a hostel/ Backpackers really need? really want? and do that REALLY well.

not really social in my experience, was a bit weird schools and kids were staying here too. if you're young I would go to a different place

We stayed for 3 nights at a 4 bed room. It was a pleasant stay and really good value for money. See stuff was very helpful but the facilities kind of outdated. I suggest it for women who travel!
