MedioMundo Hostel

Didn’t really enjoy this hostel to be honest. The hostel is very small and compact, not much free space areas to go have fun. THE WIFI DIDNT WORK IN THE BEDROOM!! There’s not many people in this hostel so as an English speaking solo traveller I felt quite isolated with not many others speaking English and doing their own thing. No hostel group activities either. I stayed one night and decided to get a hotel the rest of the trip. Guy at the counter was quite nice though but wouldn’t recom...

The location and staff were excellent. However, I had to cut my stay short because i found a BEDBUG on my bed-frame. The staff was nice enough to reimburse my final night, but i wouldn’t recommend staying until they have the infestation under control. They told me they had apparently fumigated the week before, and would shut down the dorm i was staying in, but when i came back to pick up my stuff there were people staying there (maybe because it was not possible for them to relocate them).

Nice location and good vibe. Very loud in the evenings, and not very good sound isolation. Nice bathrooms, but no handsoap in any of them during our whole stay

Buena estancia de 3 noches en el MedioMundo Hostel de Montevideo. Buena ubicación, cerca del Parque Rodo y de la playa. Personal acogedor y atento. La habitación estaba bien y la cama era cómoda. Buenas instalaciones: comedor, salón, cocina. ¡Una buena experiencia!

Such a great hostel with amazing people. Even though it’s not in city center, the neighborhood it’s located in is beautiful with great cafes and safer than the city center. Was super social for the smaller size of the hostel - would recommend to anyone!

well run hostel about 15 mins bus from town, very high quality bunks & rooms , with kitchen facilities, not much atmosphere and long lines for the 3 toilets/showers every morning

Solid place with good facilities. The vibe/atmosphere wasn’t that good especially for a Saturday night. Overall it was a solid place and I would recommend for 1-2 nights.

Excellent hostel. Nice social areas and atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good location. Could probably use an extra bathroom as waiting for the bathroom was regular.

I did unfortunately have someone I’m assuming from my room steal over $300USD from my bag but they do provide lockers so it’s on me. Good hostel overall. Just pissed about the one in my room but that’s at no fault of the hostel. Just don’t forget anything in your bag that should be in a locker

Very nice hostel! Everything is super clean (beds, kitchen, and bathrooms). It's not a very big hostel, but I liked it; it was not noisy or too busy. It's located quite centrally in Montevideo, but it is around a 50min walk to the 'touristy' things. I felt very safe too. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

nice quiet and calm, home vibes, hostel its perfect if you are looking for somewhere cozy to just chill and not socialize that much

Nice hostel, a bit small (not lots of common area outside). There is a supermarket and a parc very close, which was really nice. Met some travellers even though not a lot of people because it was low season. Would recommend

Only drawbacks for me were: - Downstairs bedrooms being right next to the living room and therefore lots of noise late at night if people are watching TV or hanging out there - No lock to the downstairs dorm room - Safety lockers in the downstairs dorm room could be fixed so that they close tighter (there was a large gap big enough for your arm to fit through even though locked) Otherwise very nice and the kitchen had everything you could need!

Very nice hostel! Cozy atmosphere, staff is very helpful and friendly, they offered the facilities to use even after checkout the whole day. The rooms were fine and the airco was turned on for us at around 11pm, could be a little earlier because the room was quite warm to get into at 22:00. I could easily stay here for more days.

Most helpful and lovely staff. Clean comfortable room (not too much room for big bags). Bathrooms and kitchen were both good and well equipped. Not the most social but that might just be the city too.

I really enjoyed my three night stay here. It is a 'proper hostel' where I had great conversations and spontaneous outings with lovely fellow travellers. The volunteer staff are super helpful and friendly and the hostel is located in a nice part of the city.

Excellent hostel. Very clean. In a central location. Staff was very helpful. My bed was comfortable and all the guests when I were there were very respectful of each other. Good base to explore Montevideo.

Best place to stay if you are in Montevideo. Park Rodó is close, a bunch of great bars and the staff is lovely. I recommend getting the breakfast at the hostel.
