Unprofessional, ignorant, unpleasant staff. Only his opinion is the right one. Zero costumer service !!! STRONG smell of canalisation in the room and in the whole building - learn to breathe through the mouth before coming here, so you are actually able to fall asleep. No duvet was provided, only super thin blanket, which did not keep me warm. Smoking allowed outside the hostel on the street, even though there is a spacious terrace available. Pictures don’t match reality!!!

I’ve been traveling for two months and this is my first bad experience. The hostel has ridiculous rules, it’s dirty, they gave me used sheets and the atmosphere is horrible. Special mention to the manager of the hostel: he’s rude and disrespectful. It was a terrible experience, I didn't check Google's rating. Dirty and smelled awful, the sheets were old and my ants and cockroaches everywhere no facilities in the kitchen and everything was old the neighbours are scary but the hostel has a good location. I highly recommend investing in the beds and the cleaning

I would not recommend this place to a solo female traveler. The neighborhood was sketchy and I did not feel safe. On top of that, the hostel itself was not nice

Absolutely disgusting. I’m not a hater but this was foul. Cockroaches and the most disgusting smell in the room, which looked nothing like photos. For the area surrounding, my friend and I were catcalled & followed mid day. Had to leave early due to uncleanly living environment. Management was unpleasant, and from reading other reviews I’m sure they’ll call this review “slander” for saying the truth. I do not recommend staying at this property or supporting a business run by an owner who is unwilling to accept and respond professionally to valid feedback nor follow up on my emails for a refund request which they instructed I do rather than resolve it in-person. Unfortunately, the room was infested with bed bugs, and I woke up covered in bites. It completely ruined my night and left me itching for days.To their credit, the staff was friendly, and the guy at the reception acknowledged the situation, but that didn’t make up for the discomfort I experienced.

An sich war die Lage gut, relativ zentral gelegen und ruhig. Allerdings war das Hostel leide nicht besonders sauber. Der Abfluss des Bades hat dauerhaft gestunken und die Bettlaken hatten Flecken - hier haben wir aber nach Reklamation direkt neue bekommen. Die Küche war nicht besonders sauber und in unserem Zimmer haben wir eine alte Kontaktlinse gefunden. Das Frühstück ist nichts besonderes, aber ausreichend dafür, das es im Preis enthalten ist. Die Mitarbeiter waren beide sehr nett.

Not great. I didn’t like the position since in that street was full of homeless walking there randomly and the atmosphere inside the hostel was totally off.

Overall it was good, I liked it but I think one washroom shared by 8 people in a mixed dormitory is not enough. At least, there should be other extra washrooms people can use.

The first day I arrived, the door of the shower was off track and felt on me. No pressure in the water, only drops of water to shower. The smell was really bad. Also, some people were coming into our 4 beds room and taking a shower in our room or accessing our toilets. That felt unconfortable because everyone could come and go. It is truethe hostel street is very sketchy and two women have been robbed in front of the hostel. I have been in another hostel in Palermo that did not felt unsecure.

Good hostel if you're looking for something that will do the job and easily get around palermo. The staff were friendly and helpful, but most people staying in the hostel kept to themselves. Kitchen had most of what you needed and was accessible. We felt there could've been added layers of security, and although it was easy for us to reach our rooms, not much stopping other people from doing so as well. Building looks a little run down but was well maintained by the cleaners every day.

Ho avuto un ottima esperienza in questo hostel. Ho avuto una grande conversazione con Giuseppe, molto gentile e disponibile. L hostel e molto pulito, i letti sono comodi e le lenzuola pulite vengono fornite.

how is this 8/10!? Stay away from this hostel. I found the younger of the two owners (father and son?) very weird. Breakfast pretty s*****. Yes, it is 'free' included in the price. That doesn't make the s***** breakfast good 😆Mouldy bathroom. No place to hang things to dry, other then ask at the reception. They'll hang it in their mossy, humid courtyard, where things don't dry. reception closed at night.

I would recommend doubleH hostel to anyone staying in Palermo thanks to its location and lovely staff! Grazie, see you next time!

the property is nice, the courtyard is relaxing and a nice place to socialize. it’s in a great location and very safe due to door codes.

Pros: staff are responsive to requests and/or addressing issues within their control. Cons: - there’s a constant sewage smell despite (too much) incense and other deodorizing agents being used to disguise. - the bedding provided is substandard - sheets (though washed) are dingy & thin & the blanket is well worn & thin (not warm enough). - lack of water pressure - cancellation policy is strict - no refunds despite not being aware of actual conditions until you arrive. The location was perfect and the staff were friendly, however I do think some more regular upkeep and cleaning would go a long way. The bathroom was covered in mould and the hook in there fell off the wall when I tried to put my towel on it. There was no bathmat so the floor was always wet and some of the bedding had holes in it. The whole place had a strong incense smell which didn't bother me too much but of you're sensitive to that it's important to note!

I had a great week at the double H hostel! The staff was really what made the stay for me! super cool & helpful and even gave me the most quiet room for my last day so I could sleep properly before flying 05.00 in the morning
