Overall stay was ok but it felt like a refuge center. It seems like because it's cheap, many older Japanese people basically live there which creates a very weird atmosphere. Not a social place at all. There are 10 floors, 1 elevator and no option to use the stairs at all. This makes access to the common facilities quite annoying. Not a place I would recommend if you want to meet new people at all. Might be okay if it's just for a night or two.

I found the bed very hard, or rather non-existent. You’re basically sleeping on top of a worn comforter. When I told the staff in the morning that it was comparable to sleeping on a carpeted floor, he told me I didn’t have any other options. This was a very unsocial hostel as well.

GRAND HOSTEL LDK SAPPORO was a great stay with courteous, professional staff and excellent shared spaces. The lounges on the 3rd and 10th floors were the highlight—comfortable, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. The washers worked very well, but the dryers took extra time. Some bunks could use more privacy; mine felt fairly open, and the windows let in a lot of morning light. Overall, it’s a clean, welcoming, and highly enjoyable place to stay in Sapporo.

Great hostel. The lower bunk I was given had ample space and I could almost stand up. Free coffee was much appreciated and all the amenities you could need close by. The girl who check me in and out the hostel (maybe erina) was possibly the nicest person I’ve ever met. The world would be a better place if everyone could match her warmth. My only gripe is with the lift. Just one servicing the whole building. With no stairs as an option you can end up waiting sometime for lift to arrive.

A fantastic first experience of hostels in Japan, a little context, it’s 20 years since I stayed in a hostel anywhere but when I saw the snow coming to Hokkaido I came to check it out at short notice. My bed in the 8 person dorm was generous, washing facilities were always spotless and the ones on the top floor meant bedrooms were not disturbed overnight. It was so good I extended, thank you all for a great experience.

This is a fabulous hostel, we were in the four person private room, it was very clean. The bathrooms were very tidy, as well as the kitchen. We got the breakfast included and it was very filling and good. The location was perfect, close to the shopping and restaurants. Definitely will be coming back here !

Overall a good hostel. I just think the price is way too high (especially on weekends) for what it is.

Best hostel in Sapporo

Lo que más me gustó que no eran literas sino como mini habitaciones con tu propio escritorio, más que habitaciones compartidas son como mini cuartos individuales, muy bueno 🙌🏾

Niet een super bruisend hostel toen ik er voor mijn eerste keer zat. Er zijn genoeg plekken voor mensen om samen te zitten, maar doordat er geen bar is gaan mensen buiten de deur drinken. Verder prima centrale locatie, dichtbij de ramenstreet en de andere toeristen attracties waren ook niet te ver weg

not a long walk from Susukino. Very chill and friendly atmosphere. If I ever come back to Sapporo I'll be sure to stay here.

This is the second of the best hostel I have ever stayed, after the Anda Venice but the price is more affordable

The hostel was nice, the staff was kind and helpful, the common area great and the position really close to the center and in a quite area. Close to the hostel there are few supermarket. The room thou weren't really clean, there were some dust all around and ventilation tube in the sleeping space (with dust on it). Also the separation about beds wasn't perfect and you could hear the person next to you snoring or breathing. Overall a 6 out of 10, ive been in worst place but also in better one!

My issue with this hostel is the total lack of storage space in the rooms. You can’t put anything under the beds, and there’s no locker or counter space so getting to your bunk requires climbing over piles of things. I also personally don’t love keycard rooms, I’d prefer a code so I can use the restroom without my wallet. This is especially true because all of the locks come with a keypad anyways.
