Bastardo Hostel

Precios muy muy altos por la calidad que tiene!!! El desayuno a 10 euros, que no tiene nada!!!! No es un buffet de verdad. 10 euros para comer asi poco. Es una locura.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE here. I discovered that a homeless person was staying in our room, the police came to check, and then when I told the staff I felt UNSAFE, they took about 20 minutes to respond and remove the person. I’m shocked by their lack of urgency and their poor screening process, especially since the police later said the person didn’t even hold a physical valid ID. I AM STILL IN SHOCK. UNBELIEVABLE.

Truly the grossest shower I’ve ever come across. The shower was like it hadn’t been scrubbed down ever. I even asked to change rooms but seems like all the bathrooms are dark and smell like mould. Although, outside of the rooms, the property is clean. Location is also nice.

Absolutely DO NOT recommend this hostel. I’ve stayed in more than a handful and by far this was the worst, started off with check-in being at 2, and our room not being ready until just after 3, we were never given an approximate time of when it would be ready just had to continue to check every 20-ish minutes. Shower was so dirty that I am not sure if I got cleaner or dirtier after taking the shower. I reported them about the situation and they said they will take care of it but no one did for the next days.

Mon amie et moi étions dans une chambre avec 4 autres femmes. L’air de la chambre était lourd, pas d’aération donc très étouffant. Les douches, toilettes et lavabos sont disposés à l’intérieur de la chambre donc ça faisait beaucoup de bruit la nuit dès qu’une fille allait aux toilettes ou boire de l’eau. Sinon ce Hostel est bien situé dans Madrid, très pratique pour se déplacer mais nous avons très mal dormi…

Nice hostel with very nice staff, overall enjoyed my stay. Nevertheless, the ensuite dorm rooms are quite badly designed with a sink in the room itself, the use of which wakes everyone up in the middle of the night, toilet stalls in the rooms zero soundproof, no space for personal belongings next to beds and individual lights per bed which are bright enough to light up the entire room (again an issue at night when sharing a room with other people).

Me alojé 3 días, el hostel desde su web tenía precios demasiados bajos a comparación de lo que pagué aquí 19 euros en 2 noches más económico! luego dice que te olvides de los candados que todo es por código qr y no fue así, yo no lleve mi candado por eso y al llegar veo que donde guardo mis cosas lleva candado y ellos lo venden a 5 euros lo cual tb me defraudó. front desk did not have reservations, ended up getting put in wrong rooms. some creepy old guys, black mold in bathroom, ended up fine tho!

Increible hostel, volveria de nuevo. El personal es increible, en especial Samu y Alberto!

Overall solid stay, clean hostel, really social and fun vibe, very central and walkable, and a train station nearby. Everything I needed from a hostel when staying for a couple of days.

Bastardo is the best Hostel in Madrid. It’s in a great central location near the metro/buses. The rooms are also super quiet. Fantastic restaurant with an excellent breakfast & really awesome charcoal smoker. Really friendly helpful staff. A super clean modern building. Great social activity’s & free events but you can also have privacy & quietness as well. It may be a little expensive for some budget conscious travelers but I would recommend it if you can afford it.

If the hostel doesn’t have activities like the walking tour or beer pong, they shouldn’t post it on the walls that they do it every day

Só acho que falta uma cortina nas camas, pois eu dormi de frente pra porta e sempre alguém abria as cortinas e a luminosidade batia direto na minha cama.

Iba a poner menos que un 10, porque las cosas siempre son mejorables, pero lo cierto es que hemos salido encantados con la estancia en general. Ni un pero. Llegamos temprano, y nos guardaron el equipaje sin ponernos pegas con la hora de entrada. Todo perfecto y muy recomendable

Great location, a short walk from Puerta del Sol. A little more research on my part would have shown the pub crawls, drinking games, etc. - the very things I was into when I last stayed in a Spanish hostel going on half a century ago. So I can't really fault it that way, just that those days are long behind me.

Overall good, was happy with my stay but did come across a couple minor problems Pros: - nice staff & efficient check-in/out - nice kitchenette (with an oven so you can make supermarket pizzas 🙌) - comfy beds in clean rooms - you could request A/C changes 🎉 Problems: - usb sockets in the bed cubby were broken - shower drain was slower than the shower head so the bathroom flooded if it was on full strength - under-bed locker drawer had broken runners so I had to yank it Overall h...

Si eres chica busca quedarte en habitación solo de chicas, tuve un inconveniente pero es verdad que el personal resolvió inmediatamente! Gracias

The Hostel was overall clean and the staff was nice, but not super welcoming like in more social Hostels. That's the biggest minus point for me as well. The Hostel is not really made for solo travellers. The concept is more like a Hotel with dorms as there is no common area. Only a restaurant and bar but those are public and you'll have to order something. The kitchen would be the only common area but it's in the basement and not very cozy. They do have some Hostel activities.

Infelizmente me robaron en mi primera noche( no en el hostel). Alberto que se encargaba del checkin me ayudó a contactar con mi amigo porque no tenía como comunicarme con él. Le agradezco mucho la ayuda.

Excelente hostel muy recomendable

Dormitorios incómodos, baños cerca de camas, se escucha todo y salen olores. No cuenta con luz en cada cama debiendo prender luz principal cada vez que alguien entra. Ubicación, y atmósfera muy buenas

very clean and comfortable, large bathrooms + shower + free use soap. had an issue with my bed being double booked but the staff were fantastic and fixed it for me immediately. made friends with people from my dorm which was lovely, but the restaurant was very intimidating to make friends in (especially as most people there aren’t staying in the hostel). there are no common areas on each floor except the kitchen in the basement so i didn’t feel it was very social. great location though!!!

Sehr schönes, zentrales Hostel mit Bar & Restaurant in EG, ausreichend große Zimmer, als ich da war leider nicht so gemeinschaftlich, würde es trotzdem wieder buchen!

Place was overall pretty good. Rooms were big. I did have an issue with my mattress cover having mold on the bottom and having to be replaced but other than that I would recommend this hostel.

Great location. Own room and bath on 4th floor. Mercado close by attractions in walking distance. Shopping and food options great. Eddie at front desk was wonderful. But staff overall accommodating!
