Just an horrible night. Impossible to sleep until 3.am because of the night-club. I have never heard a sound like that in a room it’s just irrecevable, if you can book an other Hostel, do it ! Any friendly atmosphere in the Hostel and any privacy, the shower and the toilets are just in the middle of the living room and the kitchen !
Truly I want a refund on my entire stay. A day or so after arriving, both my friend and I are showing signs of bedbug bites. The only other place we stayed before this was an extremely clean airbnb that bleach cleaned all their linens. We stayed for a week and had no bites, so this is definitely an Oxford backpackers hostel issue. I should’ve known they can’t properly sterilize the sheets when I saw they weren’t white or bleached anyways. The nightclubs also stay open till 3am. No sleep at...
J'ai payé 70€ la nuit dans un dortoir de 8 personnes. Oui, 70 EUROS. Je n'ai jamais payé une nuit en dortoir aussi cher. Qu'a-t-on pour ce prix là? Une auberge classique avec des dortoirs classiques, ayant des lits classiques (pas de rideaux, pas de super matelas, pas de rangement, peu de place, bref, rien de rien). Il y a 4 douches seulement et, quand j'y étais, deux chiottes fonctionnels. J'ai payé 28€ à Bath juste avant pour des prestations exactement similaires. Bref, c'est du vol.
I paid 70€ a night in a dorm for 8 people. Yes, 70 EUROS. I have never paid a night in a dorm so expensive. What do we get for this price? A classic hostel with classic dorms, with classic beds (no curtains, no super mattresses, no storage, little space, in short, nothing). There are only 4 showers and, when I was there, two functional toilets. I paid 28€ in Bath just before for exactly similar services.
The price is indicative of them having a monopoly in Oxford and NOT of their quality. Not recommended unless you have no other options. It's EXTREMELY LOUD, and I stayed on a Sunday/Monday so probably worse any other night. It's EXTREMELY HOT with no air con (consider summer bookings accordingly). Poor quality bunks, and there's no privacy curtains at all. There's no women-only dorm option. Terrible shower pressure. Inattentive staff (tried to cancel my booking even though I phoned ahead).
숙소가 추운 경우는 처음봤다. 201, 202호는 반드시 피하기를 스탭들이 사용하는 방 같은데 공용공간 바로 옆에 있어서 밤새 시끄럽다. 추가로 숙소 바로 앞에 클럽이 있어서 진짜 에어팟 없으면 자기가 힘들다. 옥스퍼드에 호스텔이 유일하기에 이용했다. (스텝들은 모두 친절했음)
201, 202 definitely avoid it as it is a room used by the staff and is next to the common area so it is noisy all night. additionally there is a club right in front of the hostel and it is hard for me without a real airpod. the hostel was the only one in oxford that I used. (the steps were all friendly)
The beds are very bad quality, old mattresses and if you’re in a bunk bed, as soon as the other person moves, you’ll feel everything. But for a night, it’s ok
Female room is a lot pricier than the mixed ones, which is a bit discriminatory- why does me as a woman needs to pay extra for safety. Room stank so bad, due to bad ventilation and probably the carpeted floor. Toilet and shower near the bedrooms are super outdated. The sink was clogged which was annoying and gross to use. For the price people are paying I’m pretty sure they’ve got the resources to do necessary upgrades. Wish there are other hostels in Oxford.
The price here feels quite high compared to what is offered. The dorms are quite crowded, the facilities basic, and the level of cleanliness could be improved. There is a kitchen available and a small common area with tables, which can be handy if you need to get some work done. Still, the price didn't match what was provided.
+ friendly staff + good facilities — for the price, you could hope for more comfort in bed and room, less noise from the club outside in the evenings. this wasn‘t so pleasant. — big minus: when its hot outside, the rooms inside are even hotter. in the night it doesn‘t cool down, it‘s really hard, but nothing what the hostel could do about — pub quiz was way too long and the host didn‘t do his job really good, plus he was kinda drunk
Very expensive dorm. since I had no other better choice in Oxford , I had to book a place here. Positives : close to the train station, friendly staff. Negatives : very small and cramped rooms,very poor ventilation that led to total discomfort during sleep. bathrooms are small , filled with insects and cob webs. very unpleasant experience.

Safe bike storage was the only thing I missed. Otherwise it would get 10/10
L'auberge est très bien placée, le personnel sympathique ! Les salles communes sont agréables, propres et spacieuses. Les douches et toilettes sont propres et en bon nombre. Les chambres mériteraient une petite mise à neuf (matelas, rideaux aux lits), mais pour ce prix, c'est franchement satisfaisant ! N'hésitez pas !
This is a great hostel! Kind of on the expensive side but that’s just Oxford so I can’t complain. The staff were so nice and gave an entire tour of the hostel when we arrived and the whole time were checking in to make sure we were comfortable. The vibes were immaculate, super friendly people, the common room as always full of people meeting and getting to know each other, the rooms were clean, and I never had to worry about finding shower, there was always one open!
Very nice location if you use the train station, also near the city. The staff and place is nice! I would have love if the bed had curtains for more privacy though.
Les chambres sont propres, les salles de bain et toilettes mériteraient un peu plus d'attention au niveau du ménage. Les chambres sont bien, il faudrait peut-être investir dans des casiers plus grand pour ranger ses affaires, car actuellement on ne peut même pas mettre une mini valise. Le staff est sympa et jeune, vous pouvez participer a des visites guidées chaque jour en vous inscrivant via un QR code dispo dans l'auberge. Cuisine pratique et bien equipée. Thé / Café gratuit tte la jou...
Sauber, gut gelegen. Mehr Waschbecken wären nicht schlecht, aber im großen und ganzen wirklich nicht schlecht.
More sinks wouldn't be bad, but overall it's really not bad.
Clean, tidy, safe and exactly where you want it to be!
The place was alright. Fulfilled a lot what you expect from a hostel. However I booked one night in advance in march and it cost over 40£. Obviously it could not live up to that! If you get it at a reasonable price, it’s a nice hostel.
This place was such a vibe!! The pub crawl was also soo much fun.

Great location in the very centre of town, with a great addition to the free coffee and tea.
Très bien situé et cuisine fonctionnelle L'espace n'est pas très grand mais javais toujours une place pour m'asseoir. Il y a des casiers dans la chambre et chaque lit a sa petite lumiere et sa place pour charger. Il n'y a pas de rideaux pour chaque lit.
Very well located and functional kitchen The space is not very large but I always had a place to sit. there are lockers in the bedroom and each bed has its own little light and its own place to charge. there are no curtains for each bed.

Not expensive, very lovely and welcoming staff, great central location, option to store (even big) luggage if arriving early. The negatives are details: it's not that easy to find (despite the little sign in front of the door), and the bed was a bit small (for a tall person like me, but I still slept well). A lift would've been quite handy, but I know there isn't room for one. Thanks a lot!

Wirklich schönes Hostel mit tollen Mitarbeitern. Jenny, Julia, Freddy und Ida waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit :) Würde auf jeden fall nochmal wiederkommen

I like hostels if they have kitchen as they are usually in the town centre, close to stations and attractions like this one. I like the friendly atmosphere, the opportunity to get to know lovely people... Oxford is one of the most beautiful cities in England so I definitely recommend staying in this hotel and allow 2-3 nights if you want to see most of the city.
