Luminosa Montezuma Hostel

By far the worst accommodation I have ever had. Left early because it was intolerable. Bathroom was extremely dirty and unhygienic not being cleaned and with used toilet paper next to the bin as the bin was already full - disgusting! Pillows had really strong smell as if someone urinated on them and mattress hurt because you feel every single spine. Besides that the room was directly under a corrugated iron roof making it extremely noisy. Avoid at all cost and spend a bit more for better stay.

The location of the hostel is good. But is was not clean and not enough bathrooms.

The property is very nice - great location! Linens very old. Dorms are awkward and cramped. Bathroom/showers kind of grimy. Atmosphere was okay but not very welcoming. Not super secure - one key for everyone in the dorm. Only accepts cash payment in person with no ATM in Montezuma. (Did accept Paypal for a fee)

Kind of dingy. Right next to the ocean which is beautiful and you can see the sunrise but don’t come with high expectations for anything else. The rooms are cramped with nowhere to put your stuff and the two main rooms are connected so it’s a lot of foot traffic at night and in the morning.

Really chill place with a beautiful location and great staff. Not super social and the facilities could have been cleaner, but overall a nice place! 🫶🏼

The location and property are such a vibe, very artsy and great location with the beach and tide pools! However there were only 2 bathrooms for about 15-20 people so the facilities were not very clean. The rooms weren’t very clean, it was definitely more of a roughing it experience, but can’t beat it for the price!

All round ok - nice to be by the beach and the beds were comfy. Staff were a bit disorganised and reception hours were limited.

j'ai baissé la plupart des critère pour atteindre 6/10, parce en vrai ça mérite plas plus.. ce n'était pas bon ni mauvais, juste correcte.. avoir a relouer j'irais surment ailleurs :/ nous avons louer pour la vue qui est effectivement incroyable mais nous ne pouvons nous baigné en bas car cest vrm trop dangereux.. bon il n'y a pas d'eau chaude et la clim elle est en surplus.. le lit est très dur.. la propreté générale laisse a désiré.. nous avons vue au cours de notre voyage des spot...

L'hostel est 10-15min du centre mais la vue est incroyable. Les bassins naturels et les hammacs sont un +. Par contre, la cuisine est en très mauvais état. Elle est infestée de fourmies. Cela n'empêche pas de cuisiner. Les chambres sont agréables. Ne vous attendez pas à de la climatisation, seulement des ventilateurs. Ambiance assez calme et paisible.

Fantastic hostel. Beautiful location (right on the coast). Sleep to sound of waves crashing on the shore. Short walk (1 min) to tidal pool. 10 minutes walk to town. 5 min to the montezuma waterfall parking area.

Muy cerca de las cascadas y de la playa! Muy cómodo, no tiene agua caliente pero por el calor realmente no lo necesita.

Absolutely amazing stay! It was my first hostel and it was nothing but an amazing experience. The location is fantastic, and everyone was incredibly kind. It was also very close to town! Around a 10 minute walk.

I loved my stay at Luminosa, the property is right next to the water, you get to have a private beach, natural pools but also a lovely atmosphere. The rooms are quite basic, and the location is about 10 minutes walking from center, but I did not find it as a problem. There is also a very good soda just 2 minutes away walking. You get the chance to meet lovely people, Nety is also very friendly, and the location beats them all.

Loved the location and views. The hammockes and yoga mats were appreciated. Not super clean toilets nor kitchen but for the price this hostel lives up to the expectations.

Such a beautiful hostel. Montezuma is never one to miss out on the Costa Rica travel route. The views are insane and the fault next door are a vibe. Kitchen was not 100% clean and the dorms are a funky layout. But still loved it!

Such a beautiful hostel. A little walk from the Main Street where the restaurants, groceries and shops are but it’s worth it to have the ocean in your backyard. The rooms are pretty standard and the bathroom was huge. Staff was friendly and the living areas were very cozy and chill. Definitely not a party atmosphere but very relaxing. Could use more tools in the kitchen. Overall amazing stay!

Superbe, un lever de soleil magnifique, proche de la plage, de la cascade et du soda. Rien à redire on recommande !

10/10 cet hostel est incroyable tout autant que l’emplacement, son personnel et les personnes qui y restent, rien à dire !

So incredibly beautiful. Great facilities, they did all of me and my partners laundry for a reasonable price and it was great. Good place to eat right across from hostel and had its own private beach and tide pools. I got stung by a scorpion and was horrified, I called the owner after hours in the middle of the night and she helped calm me down, literally my hero lol. We would’ve stayed longer if we could.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour au Luminosa! Naty nous a beaucoup recommandé d’activités et elle était très accueillante. À juste 10 minutes de marche il y a pleins de soda et de plages presque désertes!

Amazing! It’s located at an incredible location! The dorms are clean, bathrooms are good, kitchen is well functioning, and common areas are nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Really recommend!
