Dorms are separated from street with a thin wall. Beds shake every time a car goes by. I’ve never slept so poorly.

I booked a private room with an ensuite bathroom, but I honestly don't understand the high ratings for this place. The Wi-Fi was completely useless and didn't work in the room at all. Also, this is one of the only hostels I’ve visited where no basic toiletries were provided for a private room. The biggest issue, however, was the shower (cold, no pressure, drain clogged). We ended up using the common bathroom to shower which is unacceptable when you paid for a private with ensuite bathroom.

If I could give 0 I would. Front desk staff were lovely BUT management suck. We booked a private… that wasn’t very private at all since it opened out directly to the common area where people would eat, watch television, and talk loudly into all hours of the night. We left after just one night because not only the noise, but our towels were thin and ripped and the bed sheets were dirty and full of hair. Gross! Really don’t recommend staying here, it’s unbearably hot in the dorms and they provide no fans or AC (other hostels in Antigua do). If you have the window open it’s so loud from trucks driving past all night and it will inevitably get shut by someone else in the room. Had the worst nights sleep as it was way too hot to cope with.

I’m sad to say I did like this hostel. Good location, comfortable beds, lovely views from rooftop, some nice staff but… such a weird vibe (mostly from the volunteers.) First night I was in a 8 person room where the doors were kept open, I was woken up continuously throughout the night after a long journey 12am, 1am, 2am, 4am… even to someone opening up my curtain and shining a torch in my face. The facilities are quite nice (a kitchen with a good view, a whirlpool and chill-area). Dorms are clean and each bed has a privacy curtain but there is no window and I found them not very comfortable. The staff was friendly but didn’t show me the facilities like kitchen etc when I arrived.

Male Bartender was having loud intercourse conveniently next to my bed on one of the nights I stayed. No fans provided to individual dorm beds. Snoring and other human noise isn't a big bother to me but there were several nights where folks who were in my dorm, banged on the wall and acted super uncivil towards one guy who kept snoring like a bear in my dorm. Great layout, very helpful & friendly staff, good location. It has all the ingredients of a social hostel (bar, rooftop, hot tub), but as a lot of people stay before/after doing the volcano it tended to be quiet in the evenings while I was there. Still met some great people and enjoyed the stay. Only suggestion would be to add a fan to the dorms.

Small and easy to meet people. Mattresses super worn out and uncomfortable. Also bathrooms/toilets not very clean. Not much space to chill indoor in case its cold/rainy. No A/C or Ventilation in dorm. Wifi also not very good. Staff overall nice and super helpful.

Was very clean and well kept. No complaints! I love how big the bag lockers are. People were friendly too :)

Somos Antigua was our first hostel in Antigua, and what a great place to begin our adventure. The place was clean, safe, inviting, and beautiful. Such a nice chill hostel! Everyone was so friendly and it was super clean and safe. Erek and Huaman were the best they were a highlight of our Guatemala trip ✨✨

Perfect peaceful hostel for pre or post Acatenango! Quiet but still social if you’re looking to meet people. The pod style beds were amazing and so noise cancelling, I slept great. Shoutout Becca, Erek and Yonatan for being great and welcoming receptions, bar tenders and event leaders! I had so much fun on their excursions and just hanging at the bar. Would stay here again!

Place was good for the price, bathrooms can be better but good overall.

Super schönes Hostel mit Dachterasse, Küche, Garten und Community-Bereich. In den Zimmern sind große Locker und jeweils Steckdose und Licht beim Bett. Leider sind manche Zimmer ohne Fenster und nachts entsprechend warm und stickig. Auch die Duschen und Toiletten sind schon gut abgenutzt und nicht super sauber. Aber im Hostel herrscht eine tolle Atmosphäre und das Personal war immer super nett und hilfsbereit :-)

Overall, Somos is a brilliant hostel. Really nice staff, really nice rooms and chilling areas. Also in a great location - highly recommend.

super chill. organising daily activities and friendly staff. they have lockers if you want to store your stuff jf your doing the vulcano hike.

Did expect more cause of the hype. Only stayed one night and didn’t really make friends, however that might be cause I stayed the wrong night. Unfortunately the bed sheets were not completely clean.

Everything about this hostel was perfect! The staff were all so sweet and helpful with anything I needed. It was my first stay at a hostel and I forgot to buy a lock, so the staff member helped me find a place to buy a lock in town which was so sweet! The hostel itself was very clean and so many places to hang out whether you want a quiet area to work/read or a place to hang out and be social! I can't recommend this place more!

Rooms next to the road are very loud and sheets are old and tatty, but staff are helpful and it’s pretty clean otherwise.
