Huitzilin Hostal

Unfortunately, this hostel did not meet my expectations. Cleanliness was a major issue, particularly in the bathrooms, and the overall atmosphere felt uninviting. It was also not ideal for meeting new people, as certain groups kept to themselves. The central location is a plus. I would not recommend staying here.

Me quedé en una habitación privada, sin embargo nunca avisaron que estaría fuera del hostal, como puntos malos: 1. No avisan con antelación que el desayuno no está incluido para las habitaciones privadas 2. Preguntamos si harían alguna actividad por el 24 de diciembre y nos dijeron que probablemente sí pero no incluía a las habitaciones privadas. 3. En toda la semana que estuvimos nunca se limpió el cuarto Puntos buenos: La habitación estaba limpia.

There was no door handle on the inside of the door in a single rooms so it was difficult to pull the door open. my friend had to oush from the otherside. luckily there was a window in case we needed to escape quickly lol. the traffic was super loud, the location was on the main road. some of the staff took a while to open the door and one of the women working there was halfway checking us in and then she walked away and someone else came to check us in. was a bizarre stay and wouldn't come back

This was my most disappointing stay in a long time… I had high expectations because I had stayed at the sister hostel in Oaxaca city which was AMAZING. But I ended up leaving Huitzilin after one night. The staff was not helpful at all they were more concerned about having fun with each other than being helpful. The pool was absolutely disgusting and my private suite was just as bad. Cockroaches, broken toilet, dirty bathroom and sheets, etc. :(

A hostile Argentinian manager, unwelcoming and power hungry. I didnt extend mainly because of him. Thank God hes not the owner.

mich persönlich hat es überhaupt nicht überzeugt, die Leute waren bereits eine Gruppe, die sich wohl länger kennen, an neuen Menschen, die ins Hostel kamen, waren die nicht interessiert.

Location is great, beds are comfy and rooms are clean. The pool and outside area are also nice however the staff and very unfriendly from checking in they don’t speak to the guests at all they all look miserable and spend most there day sat around the pool or one particular table. The bathrooms are so dirty it’s unbelievable considering the staff do nothing all day you would expect the toilet and showers to be cleaned daily however we stayed for 4 days and the showers were cleaned once.

Hostel was okay for budget hostel. Definitely don’t think it deserved the high ratings it had. It was chill, not the most social, no timetable of events or anything. General areas like kitchen & hallways were not very clean. Room could do with a scrubbing & revamp too but it was very cheap so I suppose that’s what you get. We weren’t mad on the place left a day early.

When reading the reviews before booking, I was expecting a decent stay. However from the get go I was isolated and disappointed. Staff weren’t approachable, when checking in it took about half an hour for them to find the room I was staying in, they took $100 pesos off me and I couldn’t get it back because when I went to check out at 7am no one was there. My own room had exposed electric wires, so loud because of the main road and no one came to change the toilet waste basket or clean at a...

Nous avons passé un excellent sejours dans l'hostel. Le personnel ainsi que les autres voyageurs étaient très aimable. Bonne ambiance mais possibilité d'avoir du calme. Nous recommandons

Friendly staff, not much of an atmosphere since there weren't many people. Great location and decent kitchen. Breakfast is basic but fine, showers only have cold water.

Great hostel!

I had a lot of fun with volunteers, they are social, and also here to enjoy, but there is no stable schedule for activities so just chill. Breakfasts and sometimes common dinners are so lovely. I saw they started to improve rooms, during my stay, and putting curtains (thanks!)

De privé kamers liggen aan een drukke weg zonder geluidsisolatie. Vrachtwagens maken je wakker.

Excelente opción, he estado en varios hostales de puerto (a lo largo de los años) y este me encantó por su relación calidad-precio, con desayuno incluido, está súper bien ubicado cerca de todo, el lugar es agradable, yo pasé fin de año ahí y hasta cena tradicional súper completa y gratis con todo y 12 uvas nos dieron 💜

There was a huge leak in our room that made it very smelly. The private rooms are also not directly connected to the hostel so you have to walk around the block for access. You also don’t get free breakfast if you book a private room? Not the best experience but fine.

Segunda vez en Huitzilin y todo muy bien. la gente amable y la alberca muy a gusto. Buen lugar para relajarse y muy bien ubicado si quieres salir a los clubs.

Really great hostel. Sociable and the staff were really nice. The pool is great and the decor is so nice. Really good value for money, as we also got breakfast and dinner included! The only slight downside is the rooms smell damp and the toilets and showers are not very clean (there is also no hot water). But overall a really good stay :)

Buena ubicación

I have spent 4 amazing days at the hostel. The breakfast is decent, with two types of cereal, bread, yogurt, milk and a fruit (watermelon most of the time). The staff is very flexible. The dinner is NOT included off season. The staff, mostly made of volunteers, is friendly and very flexible! This hostel is perfet to chill by the pool all day long.

Un lugar muy bonito, tranquilo, cool, divertido y limpio. Los encargados de darle vida al hostal son muy lindos 💗

Good value for money. People were nice, breakfast was "ok", ac was too cold for me and i got sick so i slept outside but rooms were fine apart from that. Common area was great to chill although they blast music really loud from morning until evening..

all good, would add bed courtains in dorms, but otherwise everything wonderful

we loved our stay, great value for your money too, breakfast, pool and air con, chill atmosphere, will definitely be back again
