Worst hostel I've stayed in for a while. On-site contsruction and site maintenance starts at 7am so don't expect much sleep. Beds uncomfy. Staff unhelpful - also charged me two weeks before arrival without even telling me. Huge hill to get up there - 25+ mins walking straight up - view is not worth it. Food is overpriced - $55k for a burger with no chips. Many better hostels in the area - would not recommend this one.
Although it is a beautiful place with an incredible view the administration is terrible, clutter at the reception, too little staff for the capacity of the people who attend Little ability to solve problems and the Houses in a bad state and dirty
Endroit dangereux.
Dangerous place. i almost fell from the toilets which are a bit out of the way because the floor is very slippery and at the bottom there is a ravine... apart from the view this place is nothing exceptional. to get there, you have to take a very dangerous motorcycle taxi. me and my boyfriend have actually thought about falling from a motorcycle at least 5 times. in short, don't go !!!
There is a bad atmosphere and it is not a suitable place to have a Colombian experience
STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED! We had $700 USD stolen from our private room. The owner tried to help but at the end of the day the lockers in our room didn’t work and there was a bar missing from the window (easily accessible), we had to argue very hard for money off the final bill which was eventually given but was difficult. Despite the CCTV around the premises, there are clearly gaps and either they have an internal (staff) security problem or external issue. + v long hill to get here!
Walked all the way up there just to hear that our booking is not a bed its a hammock and its not their fault its hostelworlds fault. Looks nice but a place you won’t leave for your whole stay because the way up is sooo hard.
It was challenging to get there because of its location: we had to climb up a long road that seemed to be a wall considering its super high inclination. There was no other places of interest close to the hostel. Apart from that, our "private" room was anything but private as we could hear the smallest conversation and noise in the other private room. For the money we paid (a higher amount after taxes) we deeply regret not to have stayed at one of the hostels in Palomino.
Pros: The location is good in terms of a beautiful view. The pool is nice and the food was good. Cons: were told that breakfast was 7am-11am. On day 1 we arrived at 10:50am and were told they weren’t taking breakfast orders and on day 2 we arrived at 7:30am and no one was there. We waited until 8am and had to leave because we had a flight, so neither day did we get our included breakfast. Food and drinks are quite expensive and no snacks available.
The walk up was inSANE, do not underestimate it!!! Was the steepest incline i’ve ever come across, 15000COP for one bike to the top. The staff weren’t very helpful when checking in and it’s still being built so kind of loud. Our room was also so far away. However, the food was insane and the view pretty good. If you want to explore the area though stay somewhere else because the walk isn’t doable more than once a day.
The view is absolutely amazing and the dorms are great and super clean. however, there are several negative points that make our experience not the height. first the atmosphere was very cold, they all know each other and stay with each other without talking to anyone not very welcoming except the person at the reception very friendly. plus the kitchen is really not terrible is very expensive (up there you have no choice). finally the most unpleasant is the huge brothel all night without sleeping...

We had an amazing time in Puerto Alto! The view was definitely worth the way up and the staff was very nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommande this Hostel to relax near Buritaca.
Best hostel I have stayed at. Beautiful hostel and view, great staff and food as well

Amazing hostel. Only downside is no kitchen and a bit pricy food. The hike up to the hostel was brutal but part of the experience
Great hostel. Only bad part is the very steep hill in order to get there but other than that, it’s amazing.
Amazing staff
Amazing staff.
Everybody in this hostel was so friendly and welcoming. It is quite a hike to get there, but once you are there it’s totally worth it. You can also get with a motorbike we heard, but we walked. The pool and the food are also very nice and overall I would recommend the hostel (for people who don’t mind a hike) 100%.
the Hostel is special. first you can either go by foot up to the hostel, which is very steep or you take a moto which is also quite adventurous - we messaged them on WA for more infos& they where very responsive we had the double room which was open to the nature and it was fantastic! very nice - lots of animails around but so peaceful. you meet a lot of people & they have activities. the food is okay. a roof between the double room&bathroom would be nice (when rain) 🤗
Great Hostel, great views!
Awesome spot to chill and great food!
Hostel with toll outlook and cold pool.
The hostel has an AMAZING view! you have to walk about 20 up the hill to get there, but it's really worth it. the private room was not bad, super rustic, just like the bathroom. it has a beautiful pool and they organize various events. they have starlink!
Location is 10/10 just call the hostel beforehand to get the right motorcycle team who can get you up the hill with your bags as it is proper long otherwise. Room was tidy and nice with a fan.
I absolutely loved being here - This was my first time staying in a hostel and I’ll just say that I loved the views, the food, the nice people, and the helpful yet wonderful staff.
Amazing place to stay, it can be perfect if you guys can paint the wall of the facilitie, cause it can look neglected, but it is just paint more often so the place can be perfect all the time. But for sure I will be back next time!! Thank you!!
Andre y Rai at reception were the the best. Andre checked me in, which was sick. And rai taught me to salsaand bachata. I’m hell good now. The hill was cask to climb. Pretty sure we set the record. Sub 7 mins. Celebrated with a beer in the pool.
One of the best hostels I have ever been to! It has an amazing view and great atmosphere and food/drinks. The salsa classes overlooking the ocean were amazing and the teacher Rai was the absolute best. If you’re in this area, definitely come by here, you won’t regret it.
The hostel is located on a hill and is built in an open style, fast like camping so you can also see animals in the rooms. overall it is clean, reminiscent of a social home and the staff is friendly. the path is very steep: without luggage gut machbar, with luggage strenuous. with luggage the Moto-Taxi-Service des Hostels is recommended. the view is beautiful and perfect for relaxing.
Fantastic view, feels like you are up in the clouds… great food and free breakfast included is a nice bonus. Friendly staff, fun salsa class, and met awesome people. Bit of a trek up the hill but well worth the view. Great place to unwind or get work done.
The walk up is very tough but it’s worth it for the incredible views
