Antares Hostel

only stayed for one night. bit like hell by bed bugs. no curtains on the beds. facilities seem run down but are functional. free breakfast of pastries and coffee/tea. nice patio and common area to meet others. it is what you would expect for a cheap stay, very close to the train station.

The place was nice but I think there were mosquitoes in my room because I woke up with a couple bug bites.

the night and early morning receptionist was very rude. we arrived by a flixbus very early, around 4am and when we arrived at the hotel, we asked to stay in the lobby (which has chairs and tables), but we were denied and left outside on the street until check in, which was at 10:30am, and when i asked to check about bedbugs, he got very dismissive (but there no bedbugs, so its okay). as we later found from the day staff, they are allowed to let us stay in the reception and the night staff just didnt want us around, which i found very rude as we were underage travelers and nothing around was open until 7am, and areas around train stations are usually considered unsafe. so if you are arriving early in the morning, they do not have a policy that doesnt allow you to stay in their lobby.

We were given one pillow each which had completely lost its life. And we have both come home covered in bites resembling those you would get from bed bugs

The staff is nice, however they made me pay in cash even though the card machine worked. When I got back from getting the cash they got the payment from someone else. Great location near the train station! Nice with a full kitchen and chilled areas. However, the room was tiny with six beds. No room for storing the bags. It smelled like mold in the room and I got a lot of bug bites (either bed bug or similar). Would probably not stay here again for that reason.

Serious bed bugs problem, and the receptionists don’t report to the manager to solve the problem. Don’t come to this hotel, will ruin your vacation

Got bed bugs on the first night (of two). When I went to reception I actually had to push to get moved to a different room - they initially were just going to offer some compensation which is ridiculous. It seemed they just replaced the bedsheets instead of actually dealing with the problem. Bathrooms were dirty, found multiple spiders under one of the tables. No social aspect at all, no bar and breakfast was minimal. Staff was condescending and forced us to pay in cash with no warning.

the hostel was great! definitely a good one to stay at if youre in Nice and wanting to do day trips to nearby towns. the room was cleaned everyday and towels replaced. i was in a private double and it was comfy. good shower and bathroom facilities. i saw a couple reviews about bedbugs before i arrived but i checked the mattress and it was definitely brand new, so totally safe to stay. had a key card for the room which made things easier. good hostel.

This hostel is great location-wise, being both right next to a train station and close to a tram line (which connects directly to the airport). The atmosphere was also quiet but nice, I was able to have some nice chats with people in the common areas. However, there were a few issues. First, there were bed bugs. I don't think they're in every single bunk (yet) but I got a number of bites. Also, some of my food was stolen out of the fridge. Still, for the price, it's not unmanageable.

We booked a private room for three people, it was very small and quite dirty (no bed bugs though) and only had one power outlet in the whole room. Hostel overall was very basic, lockers are in the hallway (not in the room). But good location, overall a smooth stay. They make the beds every day which was nice.

There is a bed bug . I talked with the reception guy, because whole night bed bug is biting me, he even didn’t apologise, but he changed our room .

Das Zimmerfenster konnte man schon öffnen wäre aber nicht ratsam gewesen , da die Außenwand mit einer dicken Schicht Taubenkot belegt war. Der Geruch drang bis ins Zimmer. Ich wurde leider von Bettwanzen belästigt ( große Einstiche. ) Der Ventilator funktionierte während des ganzen Aufenthalts trotz Reklamation nicht. Im Zimmer bildeten sich Wasserpfützen.

Bed Bugs in a room on the first floor!!! I laid down for three hours between 7pm and 10.30 pm and was bitten twice. Goes to show how bad the infestation was. I killed both bed bugs. I showed them to the night staff manager. He said there was no other room available, he can't help me, he is not a charity. Awful experience.

Je suis rentré avec des piqûres de punaises de lit partout sur le corps. Des odeurs désagréables dans la salle de bain et sur les draps. Chambre côté rue mal insonorisée. Prix trop elevé pour la qualité de la chambre. Les vitres de la fenêtre étaient sales.

It was dirty, they must improve their cleaning routines. I found a bedbug and immediately switched to another hotel. To their credit, they called an exterminator.

Depuis que j'ai dormis dans le lit, j'ai des boutons sur le corps, je pense qu'il s'agit de punaises de lit, je n'ai pas voulu alarmer l'acceuil de vive voix de peur que d'autres clients s'inquiètent, je le fais donc par ce message, prudence A cause d'un imprévu j'ai dû quitter l'hôtel et la ville une nuit plus tôt, j'ignore si il est possible d'être remboursé, dans le cas ou c'est impossible, ce n'est pas grave

Les punaises de lits extrêmement gourmandes, démangeaisons assurées en moins d'une heure de repos. Un seul volet sur deux, fenêtre donnant côté rue bruyante.

Location: it is close to the construction area and sleeping and living area of homeless people and far from the central area. So, it is dangerous and not recommended to go out after 19:00. Cleanliness: Linens and towels were NOT CLEAN! There are BEDBUGS and other insects in beds!!! NO SOUND INSULATION of the rooms! bathroom and rooms were not cleaned, though we asked several times. Facilities: Old and broken tools, no sound and thermal insulation. The rooms are required to be completely renovated. Staff: Not helpful and not friendly! Costs: I paid extra for stay of child, but it was mentioned free of charge. Early check-in costs extra 15 euro, leaving the bags without check-in also would cost you extra. I do not recommend for anyone to stay at this hotel if you care about your health! UPD: The hotel tried to charge me extra misusing my card details, offered a bribe money and threatened with police and court to remove my TRUE comment! Do not provide your credit card details.

Bed bugs!

When we arrived there was an automatic smell of urine in the bathroom, as if it hadn’t been cleaned prior to our stay. Then I pulled back the doona cover and there were clumps of black hair on the sheets and throughout the bed. I cannot confirm this but my partner may have had bed bug bites on his body from this hotel. Staff were pleasant, however could have been more accomodating and apologetic when we told them about the hair in the sheets. We were given clean sheets to make the bed ourselves. The location was super noisey due to construction happening across the road.

Please find attached our Honey Moon horrible experience at Hotel de Berne. A Health Concern for all the customers that they visit the hotel. This Hotel should be close until they get rid of the bed bugs problem. We’ve been moved in 3 different rooms and all of them with BED BUGS in the beds. We ended in one Single Room with one single bed and we had to sleep together in that bed, in the same room near where we slept it was also a toilet that was smelling at urine. After sleeping 2 hours all night when we get to reception at 8am it was an very unfriendly and arrogant staff and they not even apologised for the situation. The night shift Guy who left at 6am was helpful and tried his best to found us a room. That’s our Honey Moon experience.

a few people i know got bedbugs here. other than that it’s a fine hostel. free breakfast. stayed both here and baccarat around the corner and this hostel was much better.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Hôtel de Berne in Nice, France, and I feel obligated to share my experience with fellow travelers in order to prevent others from facing the same ordeal. The most pressing issue during our stay was the horrifying bed bug infestation in our room. We alerted the hotel staff as soon as we noticed the problem, but they were dismissive, uncooperative, and refused to acknowledge any previous occurrence of such issues. However, a quick search on Google Maps and Trip Advisor revealed multiple reviews from guests who had faced similar problems with bed bugs, unclean rooms, and dirty bed linens. The bed bug situation not only caused us physical discomfort but also severely impacted our ability to enjoy our vacation. We were constantly worried about potential health hazards and spent restless nights, fearing being bitten. Additionally, we were burdened with the anxiety of unintentionally bringing bed bugs back home with us, which necessitated thoroughly cleaning and inspecting all of our belongings before leaving. Besides the bed bug infestation, the overall cleanliness of the room was subpar. The floor was covered in dust, and the bathroom was in a poor state. It was apparent that the hotel's management did not prioritize maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for its guests. The customer service we received during our stay was equally disappointing. The staff's failure to address our bed bug concerns, coupled with their general rudeness and unhelpfulness, made our stay unbearable. In summary, I cannot recommend Hôtel de Berne in Nice to anyone. The presence of bed bugs, the uncleanliness of the rooms, and the terrible customer service make this hotel a place to avoid. My advice to travelers visiting Nice is to seek alternative accommodations that focus on providing a clean, comfortable, and satisfying experience for their guests.

Draps sales!!! J'ouvre le lit et, horreur, je découvre des draps couverts de cheveux et de poils (provenant visiblement de différentes personnes!). Personnel odieux, cynique et méprisant. Je rapporte les propos du patron "Moi, si je lis dans les commentaires qu'il y a des cafards, des punaises de lit et que les draps sont sales, je réserve ailleurs! Vous n'aviez qu'à aller ailleurs!". Mes bagages ont été fouillés. J'ai laissé mes affaires à la bagagerie. En les récupérant, je constate que mon sac à dos a été ouvert. Je ferme toujours la fermeture éclair du même côté, et elle est fermée de l'autre côté... Une caution est demandée, 100 euros il me semble. Apparemment, le personnel la garde "pour un oui, pour un non". En partant, le jeune homme à l'accueil est en train de hurler au téléphone avec quelqu'un qui se plaint de la retenue de sa caution. Il est très familier avec la personne et la tutoie même... Surréaliste.

Got the room in front of the kitchen, it was pretty humid and it showed on the wall, it has several holes/cracks. The bathroom door didn't lock properly. Towels were small, but were changed every day. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and the common areas were nice. The free small breakfast was a good surprise. I suspect presence of bed bugs, but I have not seen them so I can't tell for sure. I got like 20 bites on my legs, close to each other, and are still itching many days after my stay.
