Really beautiful hostel on a beautiful location that is available by bus. The price is a bit more expensive than other hostels but the breakfast is included and you get bus tickets for your stay. There is mainly families here so for young solo travelers the atmosphere isn’t ideal.
Das Essen war das besondere Highlight, ganz hochwertige Nahrung und sehr lecker, ist auch sicher und die Mitarbeiter waren auch freundlich. Es war mir nur ziemlich laut da viele Schulkinder auch übernachten, aber sonst ist ganz gut
The food was the special highlight, very high quality food and very tasty, is also safe and the staff was also friendly. it was just pretty loud for me as many school children also stay overnight, but otherwise is quite good
Beim Check-In bekommt man gesagt, dass man Mitglied im DJH-Verein sein muss wenn man da übernachten will. Vorher nicht ersichtlich. Ich wurde eher unfreundlich darauf hingewiesen.
At check-in you get told that you have to be a member of the DJH-Verein if you want to stay there. before not visible. i was rather unfriendlyly pointed out to this.
Sehr gute Jugendherberge! Man muss aber leider eine Mitgliedschaft im DJH abschließen, das kann man aber auch vor Ort machen. Eine gute, typische deutsche Jugendherberge!
You have to sign up for a membership in the DJH, but you can do that on the spot too.
Die so großen Schlafsäale sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß!

Es funktionierte weder Netz noch W-LAN
Neither Netz nor W-LAN was working.
Schöne Jugendherberge in toller Lage, Personal sehr nett bis auf einen älteren Mann, der mich sehr von oben herab behandelte. Das Schließfach, in dem ich am letzten Tag meinen Koffer verstaut hatte, ging nicht auf und er stellte es als meine Schuld dar, entschuldigte sich in keinster Weise, obwohl ich deswegen fast meinen Zug verpasst hätte.
As it is true for most HI hostels in Germany, this one was also targeted towards families and groups. Therefore, solo travelers do not necessarily find what they might like (easily meeting other travelers, kitchen to cook, etc.). Not the hostel's fault, but it was a bit annoying that the bus to the hostel was not part of the 9€ ticket. It adds up as the hostel is not centrally located.
Würde jederzeit wieder in der DJH Kornau absteigen, es war alles vorhanden was man braucht. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, Natur pur. Frühstück sehr gut.
