By far the worst hostel I‘ve stayed in. We booked a private room for 5 nights which was dirty and moldy and never cleaned. We had very bad food poisoning from the food at the hostel. When we asked for a partial refund in the end, they threatened to call the police if we didn‘t pay. I wouldn‘t recommend staying there, there are much nicer and cheaper hostels in the area.

Filthy dirty - we couldn’t even stay. Pool water was grey. Private Room was covered in sands and bugs - they never cleaned it before us. Bathroom had mould. So loud - you couldn’t talk and certainly couldn’t sleep- nothing but bass and distortion. Playing intense RAP music from 3pm all day and evening Hell hole - biggest kip we have ever booked

Terrible experiencia, nos trataron mal, especialmente el “dueño” del hostal y solo por tener un parlante en la zona de playa a volumen medio, llego a callarnos, tratarnos mal y empujarnos hasta que casi se da a golpes con un huesped. Viajero y hermanos son opciones 1000000 veces mejores.

By far the worst accommodation on our trip so far. We were recommended Costeno beach hostel and honestly after the night we had - we can’t understand why anyone would recommend it (maybe the location? This is great!). The private cabin was dirty, dingy and there were LOTS of cockroaches. We found two in the bed before we got in it at night. The mosquito net was also riddled with holes and the blanket had stains all over it. Overall disgusting and slightly scarring experience. Filthy.

Unpleasent

Way too overrated and expensive for what it really is. Mucha fama por nada. The location is very good, the beach is good around that part of the coastline. They offer good food and drinks in comparison with the hostels around or on Mendihuaca. The premises are poor, look like an old camp. The music is good at times, they have latin etc. in the afternoon. Overall not good. I stayed there for the beach and the food and music. In general it's famous for nothing and not super pleasant at all.

Considering how expensive the hostel is compared to others in the area, and the fact that meals like breakfast are not included, there is no value for money here. Portions of food were expensive and tiny - cocktails were also half the size we had elsewhere. Our room had one tiny light and you couldn’t see anything at night. The lock on the door was broken, another light in the bathroom flickered and you couldn’t turn it off - and the mosquito netting in the bathroom was dirty. Atmosphere was...

I was only supposed to stay here for one night and ended up extending two more because it was stunning. The staff and volunteers are so lovely, special shoutout to Carlos who was so helpful and kind.

El Hostel es precioso, buen ambiente. Lo único malo es el wifi, y los voluntarios que la mayoría son puros webones que no entregan un buen servicio

Loved my stay at Costeño Beach Hostel. The food was so good and affordable, the whole place was clean and well maintained, and the staff were super attentive and kind. Such a fun, social environment right on the beach would definitely come back.

Very Mixed experience here. Slept in the 32 man dorm for 4 nights. In 2 of those someone else had wandered in to my bed drunkenly snoring, and had to get security. The day after the first incident i went to the reception, and extended my stay. They had head about what happened, but didn’t offer to change my bedsheets or nothing. The night after it happened again. So i paid for 2 nights to sleep in a bed someone else slept in- no compensation. Very badly service minded staff and security.

Easy 10/10. Stayed here for a month. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were both helpful and friendly and there is so much going on in the days/evenings

Me gusto mucho el lugar, la comida era rica, la opción de cargar todo a la anilla y luego pagar estaba genial, pero que cobren el 3% de comisión por tarjeta no lo veo bien, la cama en el dormitorio estaba bien, con toldillo, ventilador, cortina, enchufe, cajón para guardar las cosas, me gustó la experiencia.

One of my favourite hostels in Colombia so far. Really well thought + laid out, big dorms still felt comfy due to the pods. Food was amazing and the staff were really friendly. Was also incredibly social!! Only issues are the showers are a bit naff and there was a constant smell coming from the bathroom. Would definitely recommend it for other travellers :)
