Good point for the pool but you can’t sleep during the day because of the construction works, the children’s screaming… there is no hot water in the shower, no lockers for your stuff, cockroach inside the shower and you can’t even lock the toilets… we don’t recommend this place.
Checked out after one night and paid for a few. Cockroaches and bugs in the room. Zero power shower, a trickle that made it hard to shower and impossible to wash my longer hair. Mosquito net didn’t fit the bed. Air con machine gets lost as it’s a hut without proper walls. Door pad lock didn’t lock, it just pulled apart with hand. Bathroom drain filled up immediately, even from the trickle of the shower and wash basin that it just released onto your feet as you use it. Worst one ever for me...
Einfach Enttäuschung
It is simply a matter of disappointment.
+ Gigi and Ecko are really nice, open minded and friendly. We could rent a scooter and booked a tour to Bromo and Ijen, which was okay for the money we paid.
- When we arrived we recognized that the pool was under construction as the whole homestay. Gigi offered us 1 night for free, which was nice but we booked the homestay actually because of the pool and the socializing. But we were also the onliest guest. The most disturbing thing actually were the rats, mices and cockroaches around räthe building and at least in our room. From beginning we found mice shit on our bed and every day. So sad. The last night we changed the room because of the cockroaches. I think when the construction is done it will be a nice place again.
+ Het personeel is behulpzaam en aardig. Ze vonden het geen probleem dat we eerder weggingen. Normaal gesproken een prima accomodatie, wij hadden denk ik pech. Locatie is goed.
- De kamer was denk ik niet de kamer die we geboekt hadden. Volgens mij komt het doordat de homestay overboekt was waardoor we in een ander deel kwamen te liggen. Een oude kamer, zonder ramen en zonder wasbak. Vrij gehorig ook.

- the wifi kept dropping out, the shower pressure was extremely low it was either good pressure and freezing water or extremely low pressure and boiling hot. There was quite a few ants in the room aswell and we got woken up at 7am by construction noise most days
+ The sheets were clean. They eventually changed the room, as the air conditioning was not working. Though at first they really tried to convince me it s a matter of time.
- The bathroom cannot even be described - if I could levitate there, I would. Extremely pricey for what it offers. The smell was a killer. this second room was decent, not the bathroom though. Dark, old. Definitely an experience.
The staff was very nice. Unfortunately I saw a rat in the bathroom and I’m very scared of rats. The staff handled it very well and offered us another room, but we moved hostels. The gave us a refund for the other night we booked. The pool is so nice and the location also very good!
Very good gaff but they need to do something about the ceilings. They’re made of wicker so birds nest in them and they don’t keep the AC cool in the rooms. Jogja is great though and we loved walking its streets from the hostel- which is in a top location. Staff are next level kind. Viva la Jogja!!
Overall the stay was okay. The good things are: amazing free breakfast, nice pool, nice common area and you can rent scooters. But it wasn’t really clean, only small lockers for the necessary stuff. Wouldn’t be a problem normal but there were rats in the room and cockroaches. The bathroom is connected to the sleeping room so you can hear everything.

+ De hosts van de accommodatie zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam! Verder is het echt een goede locatie en zit je dichtbij allerlei restaurants en barren.
- Voor mij was het geluid van de moskee echt te hard ‘s nachts om 3 uur (maar kan ook door ramandan komen, ik weet niet hoe het daarbuiten is) en de douche werkte niet altijd goed.
+ I loved the location and the owners and staff were wonderful. They were very helpful and polite and so worth the stay with them. They helped me with all my trip bookings and even recommended me places to eat snd visit.
- The AC in the shared bedroom was always on at night, which I personally found uncomfortable since I don’t like sleeping with constant air conditioning. There were also leaks in certain areas of the property that were noticeable during my stay.
+ very kind owner, peaceful surroundings. there was a renovation upstrairs but when we told her we would like to rest she immidiately told them to work at an other site
- the room is a bit dark and old

+ The arjuna garden homestay was a hidden gem I found while searching for a good place to stay. The owner was kind and helped us with almost everything. We also had good breakfast there like pancake and sandwich. I can assure you that you won't regret staying here. Also, it is only 5min walk to Prawirotaman street and less than 15 mins by car to Jl Malioboro. Totally worth every penny.

+ Nous avons été très bien accueillies au Arjuna. La famille qui tient le lieu est très chaleureuse, c'est un endroit où l'on se sent à l'aise et le petit déj était très bon. La piscine est agréable et les douches ont de l'eau chaude!
+ I chose to stay at Arjuna Garden for the fact that there was a social area where i could meet other travelers. The experience cought me by surprise. The warm heart of ChiChi and her family, the way she makes sure you are provided with whatever you might need - even advice for facilities or further plans in the area and beyond. My room was a private one and pretty Boutique. Everyone was talen care of with love. So much gratitude for this experience! Will be back and will recommend to friends!

Thank you Arjuna Garden Homestay! We had a wonderful stay. The food was delicious and the staff was so welcoming and helped us plan trips! The overall atmosphere was great! Definitely one of the best if not THE best homestay we stayed at during our trip through Indonesia! Would 100% recommend.
Super friendly team and they create a really friendly and sociable atmosphere- lovely to meet fellow travellers. Double en-suite room simple yet clean and very comfortable bed - whilst internal (no windows), it was an advantage as no mosquitoes! Great location - few kilometres from main sites and only a few blocks to bars and restaurants. Thank you for a lovely stay!
+ Un accueil très chaleureux, la cuisine à disposition, des supers conseils pour les visites, pour se restaurer. Un petit déjeuner qui change tous les jours. Un lieu vivant, proche de tous les besoins, en restant dans un recoin calme.
- Un peu trop de luminosité dans la chambre, un rideau plus épais serait bienvenu
