Ranasa Hostel Yogyakarta

+ This was one of the most expensive places we stayed in Indonesia and also one of the worst. The good things: location. Most of the staff were nice, if not particularly informative.

- So many things — the AC was almost worthless. It was unbearably hot in our room even running it all day. There are SO many mosquitos on the property. Even just walking from our door to the exit, I got bites every time. There is no escape since all the public spaces are “outside.” The bathroom, which is outside, is also filled with mosquitos, so we were incredibly careful about keeping the door closed all the time. The sink basically didn’t work so we used the shower to wash our hands. The breakfast was easily the worst meal we ate our whole time in Indonesia, so we only did it once. I recommend getting breakfast at one of the many cafes in the area instead. The ladder to the bed is a bit scary and hard to climb if you have to pee in the middle of the night. There is also nowhere in the loft to charge anything or put a book or your glasses. The light up there is plugged into a panel that is breaking the wall and flickers if you move in the middle of the night. I would also strongly recommend earplugs. The call to prayer is loud, but the more prescient issue was INSANELY loud music late at night and early morning (literally heavy bass at 7am Sunday). It was nearly shaking the walls from somewhere nearby.

+ Charismatisch en goede ligging

- Het huisje rook heel muf, hing vol met airfresheners.. er stond dat de kamer elke dag werd schoongemaakt maar in die 5 dagen dat ik er verbleef is dat maar 1x gebeurd. Er is niet veel te beleven in het hostel zelf en er wordt niks door de georganiseerd voor de gasten, dus het is meer een hotel dan een hostel.

+ Petit homestay plutôt bien placé, à quelques minutes en voiture des centres d'intérêt. Joli jardin au calme du bruit de la circulation

- La chambre était sombre et une forte odeur d'humidité y régnait. La clim ne fonctionnait pas correctement (ne rafraichissait pas et faisait du bruit), la salle de bain à l'extérieur est en très mauvais état (lavabo et WC délabré) La piscine est toute petite, juste pour se tremper et aurait besoin d'un coup de frais. Le petit déjeuner vraiment moyen, nous avons dû faire notre café nous même sans aucune explication (pas de machine ni cafetière) Le pire était l'appel à la prière à 4h du matin dans des haut parleur et en boucle, mais ce n'est pas de leur faute. Bref, on a presque pas dormi, mauvaise expérience.

- 早餐服務員只有一個人，需要等很久，如果趕時間的不建議點餐。

+ Overall, it was a good experience, the facilities and the position were ok, and the breakfast delicious

- The upper bunk of the bed didn't have any kind of protection

+ The staff was amazing! They let us borrow mosquito spray, cooked lovely breakfasts and even prepared fruit the night before, when we had an early tour to Borobudur. Great communication on Whatsapp.

- For hut no 1: No daily cleaning. No new towels unless you ask. The water pressure in the shower is a bit weak and hot water runs out quickly. The bed is quite high up so it gets hot at night. My partner had to sleep on the couch for 2 nights, as the temperature upstairs wasn't much affected by the AC. Also the floor got flooded from heavy rain which came through the door and soaked one of our bags. The pool is cold and has leaves/bugs in it.

+ スタッフの皆さんが最高に親切です。いつも笑顔で挨拶してくれます。ドミトリーはエアコンの効きが抜群で、ベッドの寝心地も良かったです。朝食はオーダーするとその場で作ってくれるスタイルでとても美味しかったです。最終日に、朝早くにチェックアウトすることを伝えたら、朝食をお弁当スタイルで前日に用意してくれました。しかも手書きメッセージ入りで。泣きそうになりました。ありがとうございました。ジョグジャにまたくることがあれば必ずここに泊まります。

- シャワー専用ルームの水圧が弱いので、調整できると良いかもしれません。

+ This was the second time I’ve stayed here. The staff is very friendly and always help. Doesn’t matter what the questions are. Location is also very nice, close enough to many things. Breakfast and bed are very comfortable. In the woman’s room only woman staff enter.

- Don’t have much. The night lights in the dorm are a bit on the bright side so you get waken up by them some times. The water pressure in one shower is a bit low but besides that I have nothing negative to say

+ Très bon emplacement juste en dessous du palais. Superbe jardin avec une piscine qui permet de se delasser. Chambres communes spacieuses et confortables. Le petit déjeuner était savoureux et l'équipe très accommodante.

- J'ai tout apprécié.

+ Het personeel was erg behulpzaam! Tijdens mijn verblijf is een oplader van mij kapot gegaan door een lekkende airco en het hostel heeft de kosten vergoed voor een nieuwe

- Lekkende airco waardoor 1 nacht wat zwaarder was. Dit werd wel gelijk gemaakt nadat ik het aankaartte. En het zwembad was niet in gebruik

+ El staff es increíble. Super recomendado por ubicación y sobre todo por la vibra que tiene. Desayunos fantásticos con los mejores pancakes de Yogyakarta .

+ People are nice and Cats are cute.

+ This place is amazing, the stuff is very friendly and helpful. I wish I could stay longer.

+ Good location, peaceful. Good aircon and good bed

- Pool is not cleaned or maintained well; only by use of (a lot of) chemicals. The common garden is also not maintained well

+ Großartiges Frühstück und auch eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit Freiluftdusche

+ Small intimiste house with areas where you relax easily. The staff are so friendly. Best free breakfast I’ve ever had.

- AC in the room was too cold
