good location but felt very run down, especially the rooms where the windows don’t properly close. was made worse by the presence of bed bugs, the hostel wouldn’t even compensate us after both getting bitten loads. wifi is also terrible

Great price and location, but that's really the only positive I have to share. I got a private room that barely had space for me to open my suitcase, and it was clear the place was not clean. My bed was horribly uncomfortable with just a top sheet to cover the bare mattress and I woke up covered in bug bites. I think they were mosquitoes not bed bugs, but regardless when booking a private room somewhere in the middle of a city (a room that doesn't even have windows!) you don't expect to wake up to a room infested with mosquitoes. The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful, so I do applaud their efforts. The location was very central but the walls are also paper thin, meaning I could hear people playing ping pong in the common areas until 2am as well as every car honking that passed by. Not a very very social hostel either, people looked my way but did not say hi. At the end of the day, if you are just looking for a cheap and central place to stay and don't mind bugs and very very basic accommodation, this place would be fine.

I got a private room with its own bathroom. I paid for the room for 3 nights and ended up leaving after 1. I woke up covered in bug bites at 5am and immediately went to the front desk to talk to the staff member on duty. She promised it wasn't bed bugs but made no other efforts to compensate for the fact that I woke up in their accommodation covered in bug bites. Craziest part is that my private room didn't even have a window to the outside! Great location but that's the only good thing about it

- THE MAIN ISSUE: the window isn't sealing properly (faces Kennedy park): so room is cold at night, room gets humid, and very noisy all night long (because proximity of Kennedy park) - the 2 beds are very small, might be ok for short people but not guys over 6' - suspicion of bedbugs in the mattress - lack of shower shelf

I decided to stay at Flying Dog Hostel, Lima after loving my stay in their Arequipa hostel. Big mistake. The only good points about this hostel are the staff are very friendly and the good location. The cleanliness of this hostel is really poor. During my time there when the cleaner came into the dorm, all they did was change the bins. I should have got pictures of the bathroom, the sink area and toilet were disgusting. On my last night, I opened my locker (which open even with your padlock locked) and there were loads of these little bugs in there! I think they may have been bedbugs because I then noticed them crawling on the bunks (pictures aren’t great but pic 1, you can see one on top of logo then pic 2, on logo on bunk). The kitchen also looked like it could have done with a good clean. Fridge desperately needed clearing out. So my advice to you is NOT to stay here if you value cleanliness and hygiene.

Dirty dorm - complete with bedbugs. No hot water for 24 hours +. Lockers aren’t secure even with a locked padlock
