Iris Hostel

There are bedbugs in both the dorm rooms, a lady had 10k baht and her phone stolen.. After I told the receptionist and owner about the bed bugs they didn’t do anything and are still putting people in the dorm room. Terrible hostel definitely would not stay here

Prima budget hotel maar geen social hostel. Op de trap lag een dode kakkerlak en slechte communicatie vanuit het personeel over de check in die sluit om 20:00. Wij hadden het geluk dat we om 19:50 bij de receptie stonden. Als je de kamer uitloopt lijkt het net alsof je op straat staat omdat er sprake is van een open ruimte, veel lawaai dus. Als je op zoek bent naar een budget plek en niet zoveel waarde hecht aan mensen ontmoeten, prima maar niet om onder de mensen te zijn.!

All three dorms on the second floor had bed bugs, when we told reception they really did not seem to care. Bathrooms were nice, but smelled disgusting. Two girls in my room had cash and electronics stolen, and there were two staff seen going through people's personal belongings. Would not recommend staying here.

The lady at the office was kind. The room were good and the toilets were clean. It’s not the place if you are a solo traveler.

Not clean and I didn’t feel at home there… Also don’t understand why I, as a young female, get a dorm room with only 50+ men. Didn’t feel good.

The hostel has a weird vibe, my room's windows were darkened so that there was never natural light in the room. Kind of maked a depressing mood. It's cheap though, the location is nice and if you just need a place to sleep and not to hang out you might be happy here. No complains about the cleaniness though.

The staff are inept. Everyone I saw check in had an issue. I was repeatedly told that I was a male guest (not going to name him) despite showing them my booking & passport. They then emailed me a day later about checking in then blamed me for 'having different name'. Beds are comfy but was put in mixed dorm even though I'd booked a female dorm. The house keeper sleeps on a shelf in the linen closet...I saw it. It's just bad vibes and weirdos. Avoid.

Location is good but overall, it is not a really nice place to stay. Not very clean, can see through the curtain for the bed.

El aire acondicionado de las piezas era frío y no podía regularse. No recomiendo para estancias largas pero sí para 1-2 noches.

Comfy beds, friendly staff, great location :)

Great place to stay in the heart of Chiang Mai Old Town! The beds are very basic but you are provided with everything you would need. The staff were incredibly helpful.😄 Thank you for looking after us!

A really basic hostel with a chilled vibe. Not social, but it’s super affordable if you’re spending most of your time out and about.

Location is good but overall, it is not a really nice place to stay. Not very clean, can see through the curtain for the bed.

Facilities were fine but communication was horrible. We called the hostel to let them know we would arrive in the middel of the night. When we got there no one was there and no one picked up the phone so we had to wait outside for almost an hour in the middle of the night. During our stay we also noticed they don’t clean the blankets.

I stayed there for only one night. It didn’t seem like people were hanging out there together. But in total the stay was totally fine.

No atmosphere and the wifi barely works. However the beds were nice and the showers/ toilets were great. Good for a budget stay if you have data

Bunk beds have ample privacy. The curtains don't block light and sound though so you can hear motorbikes and see other people's bed lights all night. My padlock wouldn't fit so make sure you have one long enough. Bathroom is fine. Don't expect anything social. Very good option if you don't want to spend too much.
