Costa Rica Guesthouse

There were cockroaches in the rooms. The staff are very rude and unwilling to help. The staff gives priority to non Costa Rican customers over Costa Ricans.

All indicated features and facilities are not in the hostel, you have to go to another hostel to access them, crossing a road where their always are homeless/drugged people, very nice to do in swimsuit or with your computer to get working. So no kitchen nor pool nor restaurant in the hostel per say, no air circulation in the room and way to few bathrooms for the number of beds. The only common space (present in the pictures) was the co-working space which comes at an additional fee..

Not enough bathrooms accessible to go to the toilet or have a shower, spent the night waking up to the doorbell, not sure where the staff were

S***!!!! We tried to extend an extra night because I was sick - front desk said it was “too much work”, made us wait 3 hours to extend, and then charged us double. When I brought this to their attention, they lied, refused to tell me their name or the managers name, yelled at us, and threatened us with violence. There were also tiny spiders on the floor that got into the luggage, roaches in the dorm and bed, and I got eaten by bed bugs. Just do yourself a favour and do NOT stay here.

For a repeated customer i had the worse experience, i extended my stay i was undercharged. Thought wverything was ok. Then the 2 guys that work the night shift teied charging me $55 for a private room i didnt book it was a mess. They embarrased me , didnt offer a solution. Will never stay here. Again. In the end i was kicked out middle of the nighr. Dqngerous place to stay. 2 girls from France helped me book a hotel in which they paid for it for me.

BED BUGS***This place has BED BUGS!! After checking in and paying, my friend & I went to our shared dorm and found bedbugs in our bunks. We took photos of what we found & told reception. The front desk worker was extremely rude & condescending. I sent an email to ask for a refund as we immediately left & did not use the facility but did not get a response. Stay here if you are okay with terrible customer service and bringing bed bugs home with you. No wonder this place is so cheap. Disgusted.

In der Nacht war ein Tier im Zimmer und hat Spuren hinterlassen. Ab 5 Uhr war es nicht möglich zu schlafen, da die ganze Zeit LKWs gehupt haben und die Wände sehr durchlässig sind. Das Bett hat bei jeder Bewegung ein Geräusch gemacht. Kein Spind zum einschließen der Sachen. Kein Aufenthaltsraum.

Does the Job! Nothing great either haha, Stuff doesn't seem welcoming, in this hostel there are no chill areas besides the lobby

Didn’t expect to be in a building away from the main hostel. No one in the building during the night to make sure it’s safe or locked, “locks” on main gate & bedroom door were always open when I got to them and the main door was always wide open. VERY!! Noisy, trains blasting their horns continuously and constant traffic noise. One female bathroom shared between I would say 15 guests.

My review is based on my stay in a private room with a shared bath and access to all hostel facilities. Spotless bed and bath. Lovely little pool and garden area. Restaurant served tasty food. Staff was nice and attentive.

Beautiful colonial house. It's quiet and peaceful, perfect for getting some rest. The location is excellent if you want to explore downtown San José, though the party scene is mostly in the surrounding areas. They have an agreement with a nearby hostel so you can use their pool, restaurant, and other amenities. Parking is available. My only suggestion would be to raise the age range from 18 to 50, as 40 feels a bit too young.

I was just looking for a place to spend a night while travelling between cities and ended up in a super clean hostel with a pool that was a 5 minute walk to the markets. I’ll be returning here on my way out.

Muy buen lugar de paso

This place is good for one night. Staff is friendly. If you are in a female dorm your room is across the street at the hostel called “workstation” and that building is just for rooms, not to be social. It has an abandoned feel to it, but the beds are comfy. However, you have access to “backpackers” next door where they have a pool and bar so that’s nice! That place isn’t too social either though, everyone minds their business. Overall a good value for money

We love this hostel and have stayed here several times. Excellent value, clean rooms, good location for eating out/nightlife. Friendly and helpful staff.

15 Minuten zu den Bus Terminals. Zu empfehlen.

Nuit correcte (lit ok sanitaires propres) mais pas d’accès à une cuisine pour dîner rapidement ou faire son petit dej le matin, café gratuit à dispo, se situe dans une rue un peu tendue ? Un chauffeur de taxi m’a conseillé de changer de chemin

This hostel is fine. The pool is nice and the rooms are big and clean. There isn’t a huge social vibe there but the food isn’t terrible. Why this review is so low is because while I was at the pool, the workers started spraying chemicals on all the plants surrounding and in the common area. I asked them to stop and they refused and claimed they weren’t chemicals. Even though they were wearing gas masks. just kind of a pass-through hostel. Keep in mind that there's a loud ass honking train every like 10 minutes right next to the hostel in the morning

Gutes Hostel für eine Nacht. Zentral gelegen, freundliches Personal. Dorm war sehr großzügig geschnitten, aufgrund von undichten Fenstern jedoch sehr kalt. Zudem direkt neben der hupendem Straßenbahn und damit sehr laut. Im Hostel selbst gibt es keine Community Area, daher keine Hostel Atmosphäre.
