Wax Hostel

If you like prison vibes then this is for you. You can only check in 3-6pm otherwise there are no staff around. There’s no social aspect and the dorms resemble prison. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty and the rooms smelt awful. Only stayed the night before my flight - had good location to airport other than than 0/10. Especially as a solo female traveller, felt constantly unsafe, there’s no privacy and very dodge.

The receptionist claudia did complained that she voluntarily sent emails to each guest to inform them that if they arrive after 6 pm they would have to sleep in the streets. She sees it as a nice act of hers to write the mails. To me it seemed like she had some personal issues. I was wondering why they didn't install a self check in system?! The hostel is close to the beach but it's problematic to reach the hostel by public transportation. Also, there is no option for grocery shopping...

Tuvimos que esperar en el restaurante un tiempo para obtener las llaves Nadie nos mostró las instalaciones ni nos propusieron actividades. No ponían ni música en el hostal. Nunca hubo nadie presente en la recepción, pendiente de los huéspedes. El cuarto súper pequeño para 5 personas y los casilleros también. Aunque marcamos nuestra comida en la cocina aún así se la comieron los otros huéspedes por falta de señalización Éramos las únicas jóvenes, el resto tenían 45 o m�...

The room is way too small for 5 people, there is not enough space in the lockers

Goed voor een eerste low budget vakantie voor studenten. Ik heb er zonet verbleven met een vriendin. We sliepen in een slaapzaal met 5 bedden. De kamer was echter super klein. Als er 2 personen tegelijk rechtstonden was de kamer al vol. Ook hadden de bedden geen gordijntjes en waren de deuren zeer luid als ze geopend of gesloten werden. De hygiëne liet te wensen over. In de keuken, in de kamer en op het terras krioelde het van de mieren. In onze kamer vonden we dan ook 3 lokdoosjes.

I stayed here for one night to experience the beach side of Faro and regretted it. The hostel would be lovely if you were in a group but as a solo traveller it felt more like staying in someone’s house and there was no one else to meet. The patio was amazing and the kitchen and beach were great but felt very lonely and awkward. The showers were freezing and you couldn’t adjust the water temp and the A/C was cranked which would be nice but in January not ideal. Would only recommend to a group...

I think the price is too much for what is offered , I stayed in a share bankbed room and for what is payed everything is basic. Also I asked before how to go early to the airport, they said no problem with bolt, but turns out and i think it's important for the next after me to know that it's really hard to get a Uber / bolt during night or early morning , I needed a Uber to go to the air port at 6 am and they where not coming to pick me up ! I had to take a lime bike instead.

Sieht sehr schön aus, tolle Terasse und viele gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeiten. Auch die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und auber. Für mich gab es aber zwei absolute No-Gos. Ich musste einmal kalt duschen, weil die Duschen nicht immer Warmwasser haben. Zudem riecht es im ganzen Hostel intensiv nach verschiedenen Duftdiffusern. In jedem Raum hat es welche, dies war für mich sehr unangenehm. Im Bad wurde ich sogar direkt angesprüht.

Self check-in was ok but no atmosphere at all, quite dead. Also, people is not super friendly at the resto, super noisy at night, terrible bunk beds, CERO PRIVACY, you basically sleep in front of someone else with no barriers. Also, lock on bathroom did not work and stairs to top bunk were messed up. Ok for a night maybe? Wouldn’t recommend.

It was near deserted, and the weather was bad when I stayed, but the hostel itself is well located, close to the beach and bus stop, and it was fully equipped and comfortable. In different circumstances, I would give it a higher rating.

Établissement très bien situé à quelques mètres seulement de la plage et facilement accessible en transports publics. Très calme en dehors de la haute saison.

Always been my dream to live in a house nearby the beach, this hostel is it! Cozy, clean, bed is comfy, the staff cleans the house diligently everyday, the decoration and vibe is like a home, free coffee in kitchen, there's a balcony for some sea view, and a swing chair (my favorite) Only wish I booked more days to stay here! Only 2 mins walk from the seaside, some nice seafood restaurant down the street, truly amazing and for anyone who craves the tranquility and beach view this is perfect!

Super relaxing and incredible location with friendly staff

Super ! Great location, the beach is just in front of the hostel. The place is stunning, great view from the terrace, pretty quiet and peaceful. Guests are respectful and easy to connect and meet some. The kitchen v’is well furnished and spacious. The staff is very kind and the place is clean. A/c in dormitories. Easy to feel home here. Only downside : no curtain on the dormitory bed. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it

Really cool place to stay, people are great and the staff are helpful. Only moan is the door to get into my room, you had to have alot of patience with it as the lock wasn't working as well as it should. Other than that its an awesome place to stay!

the location ist perfect. 10 m to the beach on the one side and a fantastic view on the terrace on the other side. also very clean, good equipped and organized kitchen. what bothered me was that the rooms are very very small and there are no curtains. for me that's an absolute must in hostels in terms of privacy and also noise cancelling.

very clean and cosy hostel. beach is 30 seconds from the fromt door and hostel is perfect for being lazy in the heat. faro city and airport only 20 minutes away. very friendly atmosphere in the hostel. sometimes dolphins swim up and down the river.

Mega Lage. Tolle Ausstattung der Küche. Die Schlafräume sind super eng- null Privatsphäre.

10 out of 10! People were nice, and the rooms and toilets were clean. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Top Lage direkt am Strand – besser geht’s kaum! Die Schließfächer waren groß und praktisch. Leider keine Vorhänge an den Betten und die Zimmer recht eng. Das Personal wirkte teilweise unmotiviert und wenig hilfsbereit. Negativ: Nur zwei Toiletten für etwa 15 bis 20 Gäste – das war teils problematisch.

Great place to just chill esp after a busy few weeks. Perfect for solo traveller if you just need a bit of peace and quiet.

What I really liked and want to emphasize: my locker was not functional, I told them about, and 1 hour later they send me an mail that they fixed it and then it worked! Everything could be broken once in a while, I was really astonished that they fixed it immediately! Nice, warm, clean hostel!
